Hunting itself isn't bad, in fact it's necessary for keeping certain populations in check u cant just ban all hunting, but u can ban improper forms of hunting and put more restrictions on wat ur allowed to do, u already need a permit and are held accountable if u kill something u arnt suppose to kill, sure some people don't hunt properly but thay doesn't mean hunting itself is bad

If dogs are trained for medical help or police duty, but fail (often cause they’re a little too goofy, like in this clip), they are often assigned to new homes I am assuming, If these hunting dogs are bad at their job for being a little too goofy, the people don’t wanna pay to get them spayed/neutered, and don’t want the dog to ‘stay in circulation’ (have puppies) because the dog would pass down it’s playful behavior and personality. They don’t want a dog to make the mistake of being playful again. Sorry that is very sad and dark. I have heard/seen stories of dogs who ‘failed’ at the workforce get new homes, and it is super adorable. Sometimes the new owners have to be really patient with the pups cause the dogs learned how to do the tricks (like open doors, turn off/on lights, etc), but didn’t learn when they should do it; so they just run around doing the most random human things and ask their owner for treats. So the owner is just not giving enough attention, and the dog flips the lights on and off a few times before coming to the owner for a treat with a very happy wagging tail. :)
I have an abandoned foxhound myself. The pound found him on the side of the road. They took him in. He was the most well behaved dog they’d ever had. He was the only one who was allowed to be out of his cage, he’d just rest in a dog bad under the front desk. Never barked. Never bothered anyone. When we first brought him home he was shaking in fear. He was scared. A part of me felt like he was wondering if he’d be forced to be a hunting dog again. Maybe something about our car gave him flashbacks. Since he can’t talk I have no clue what’s he’s been through, I wish he could tell us what happened to him. We have so many questions. Why he’s afraid of thunder and rain but not any other loud noise. It’s always confused us. But either way we’re lucky to have him. He’s the best dog I’ve ever met, whoever threw him on the side of the road is an idiot.

I grew up with an american foxhound named Bruno, he was the most amazing dog you could ever meet. Endlessly playful and loving, right up until the end. No more unnecessary killing, it’s not right.

Worst thing is, I know this actually does happen If you drive along the road in rural areas, you’ll find skulls on the side of the road with holes from bullets. I’ve found one before, and there’s videos online. Really really sad

My grandma actually rescued a Labrador that was used for hunting since she was little little. They made her run so much she tore her ACL's. They were gonna put her down, but my grandma rescued her, got her surgery, and now shes as happy as can be 2 years later. People are evil
My parents adopted an american foxhound from a pack, after he injured his eye (it healed up fine.) That same dog later tried to eat infant me, so they rehomed him with another pack- but a different breed. He was a giant amongst his own kind. Years later, my Mom, referring to the dog, said "if only Trump were here he'd take care of the raccoons in our attic." RIP, Trumpeter, you homicidal maniac.

The dogs used for any purpose are bred _for_ that purpose. No amount of training will make up for natural ability. That said, many useless dogs are rehomed, not shot. It really depends on the owner.

My dog is a abandoned foxhound. My dad found her running back and forth across the road. We called the number on her tag and the guy said he would come get her but never did. She’s a horrible hunter. There will be deer in front of her and she doesn’t smell them. The guy owns at least 20 fox hounds. He had to of left her on a hunt on purpose. My family doesn’t hunt she is now an indoor house dog.

I have a Geyhound lab mix, he is such an energetic ball of pure Joy, and literally runs laps around us when exicted, oh man one day he escaped and was running up and down the street, took 10minutes before we we're able to catch him he Just keep running round us like we we're moving in slow motion.

Not sure why I view it as okay. It’s just very common where I live, it’s a different kind of hunting dog and they don’t just put them down if they don’t do good. But it’s normal for them to get injured or killed on hunts.
I am a hunter myself and my rule is that if you’re not eating it you shouldn’t be killing it unless it is a threat this is what gives the good hunters a bad rep, this is horrible
I live in the US and can back this. Trophy deer hunters are the most obnoxious Fuckers I've met. But the guys who just hunt for food are the most chill, grounded, and humble dudes I know. Some of them use dogs for bird hunts, for both retrieval and locating the birds, they treat their dogs ethically and feed their families with the turkey and waterfowl they hunt.
YES! Hunting to eat I think is fine, and even support it! But simply hunting for trophies, or even just for sport I think is terrible. Especially killing young dogs for no reason!!
Dogs have and always will have in their life: Emotions. From the day they were born, and I bet you, they make the mother force bred, produce these hounds and train em at a young age, but as dogs, they have emotions. The one we saw was playful, in which, he trusted and thought it was having fun. But it's disgusting how many unholy people take them out and never give them a chance.
This hurts even more to me because I once owned a dog that my family rescued because he was a bad hunter. He was the sweetest beagle/dotson mix and would help us with our baby animals by playing mama while the mother animals rested. Dude was over 20 when he passed and mothered chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, and even a squirrel once.
It's so cruel that there are people who are capable of doing this to dogs. All dogs ever do is love you, so how could they treat something that loves you unconditionally in such a way? I'm happy you were able to give that dog a better life.

My beagle Nutmeg is a hunting dog who “wasn’t good enough” to keep. She had Cherry eye and needed surgery. I asked if it was a money problem and that others might be able and willing to help raise the money to help her and the women said “now why would I spend money on a dog I don’t even want to keep?” It broke my heart. She was so tiny and skinny. She lives with me now. Far away from those people. With a big family and lots of love

Yah not all hunting is bad, it keeps food on many tables, it keeps many invasive species down and active populations in check. It’s the methods and purposes behind them that’s what’s important. I met a guy like that worked like this once, he told me all about how they handled their hunting dogs and how he’d easily kill them if they didn’t do what they were told to, he spoke so heartlessly and easily about how he casually abused his dog and how it was “just how the job goes” i never expressed my feelings on the matter, just simply listened, but I stopped talking to him after that story for I could no longer listen to him the same without imagining it. Just it’s because how things were doesn’t mean it’s how they should remain

@@FernietheplantPeta is the reason why i can't trust any of these types of organizations which use this type of shock tactic such as cute animal gets killed or gets abused or something like that in a animation as seen in the video but I'm not entirely sure of England's hunting industry or hunting practices they do so I'm undecided on the issue as shown in the video but I would advise deeper investigation not only into this industry if you live in these areas but also the charities or organizations that run these movements because we could end up with another peta situation so I would advise being careful and most importantly an active mind (and not an open mind) when looking into these organizations using emotional imagery or language because that could manipulate you into believing something that you normally wouldn't if you have been given the hard facts of the situation so stay careful and always have an active mind as an active mind questions and an open mind accepts

My dog is a abandoned foxhound. My dad found her running back and forth across the road. We called the number on her tag and the guy said he would come get her but never did. She’s a horrible hunter. There will be deer in front of her and she doesn’t smell them. The guy owns at least 20 fox hounds. He had to of left her on a hunt on purpose. My family doesn’t hunt she is now an indoor house dog.

I have a Geyhound lab mix, he is such an energetic ball of pure Joy, and literally runs laps around us when exicted, oh man one day he escaped and was running up and down the street, took 10minutes before we we're able to catch him he Just keep running round us like we we're moving in slow motion.
The dog's friend filled with concern and fear when he sees him get taken away and the dog getting killed made my heart break.

I live in the US and can back this. Trophy deer hunters are the most obnoxious Fuckers I've met. But the guys who just hunt for food are the most chill, grounded, and humble dudes I know. Some of them use dogs for bird hunts, for both retrieval and locating the birds, they treat their dogs ethically and feed their families with the turkey and waterfowl they hunt.
YES! Hunting to eat I think is fine, and even support it! But simply hunting for trophies, or even just for sport I think is terrible. Especially killing young dogs for no reason!!

My beagle Nutmeg is a hunting dog who “wasn’t good enough” to keep. She had Cherry eye and needed surgery. I asked if it was a money problem and that others might be able and willing to help raise the money to help her and the women said “now why would I spend money on a dog I don’t even want to keep?” It broke my heart. She was so tiny and skinny. She lives with me now. Far away from those people. With a big family and lots of love
I am happy that she has a good family now, sadly not a lot of those poor pups have a chance of getting adopted or even going to the shelter

@@FernietheplantPeta is the reason why i can't trust any of these types of organizations which use this type of shock tactic such as cute animal gets killed or gets abused or something like that in a animation as seen in the video but I'm not entirely sure of England's hunting industry or hunting practices they do so I'm undecided on the issue as shown in the video but I would advise deeper investigation not only into this industry if you live in these areas but also the charities or organizations that run these movements because we could end up with another peta situation so I would advise being careful and most importantly an active mind (and not an open mind) when looking into these organizations using emotional imagery or language because that could manipulate you into believing something that you normally wouldn't if you have been given the hard facts of the situation so stay careful and always have an active mind as an active mind questions and an open mind accepts
