Ah, this is a real good one, still impressed with how accurately they recreated hogwartz, and how pretty it is. The exploration in the game is also great, wish there was a bit more of it though.
Still my fav to go back to when im in that Potter mood. All fans want is to explore the castle. Im hoping Legacy is full of secrets

I love the way the back of the Great Hall is exactly the same as it is in the original games.

This game was actualy made with A LOT of imput from the fans, and it shows. Characters modeled after AND VOICED by their actor counterparts, Hogwarts modeled after the movie sets, scenes recrerated from the movie and even returning soundtracks from THE FIRST 3 PC GAMES! (not kidding, my heart skipped a beat when I heard a Hogwarts theme from Philosopher Stone walking down a hallway) and a free exploration like the first 3 games. Oh joy! My tiny nitpick is that they missed the opportunity to add things from the book that were not in the movies, like visiting St. Mungus or, in Half-blood prince, seeing the other memories like The Gaunts and Hepzibah Smith. I'm pretty sure just 5 more minutes of CUTSCENES wouldn't have ruined the gameplay. Also, I loved the potions minigame in HBP and played a lot of Wizards Chess in OoP (and I even collected a replica of the set myself!)
What an absolute masterpiece of audiovisual media! Simply ICONIC! And you using my improved version of the Queen's Gambit poster in the video is the greatest honour for me

I love how Dumbledore arrives at the ministry and starts flailing his arms around at the end.
This game and Half-Blood Prince were really fun on the Wii because of the motion controls. Surprisingly enough I found they worked really well. I probably wouldn’t have had nearly as much fun playing them on other consoles.
Side notes, that final battle music with Dumbledore and Voldemort is epic, matter of fact, the music in general is the saving grace of the Harry Potter games. And yes, the Deathly Hallows games are shite, and unlike OotP and HBP which are best on the Wii, the Deathly Hallows games are the worst on the Wii.
As a kid I never really liked this game, but I think it was because I was expecting something like PC or PS2 games before Goblet. Action/platforming games with an emphasis on exploring while fighting magical creatures. This was sort of that, but without any of the action or combat. I can appreciate it more now that I'm older, but I'd be damned if I said it was better than the original trilogy games.

After doing my own run through the movie games, I definitely came away liking this one and Half-Blood Prince the most. It just felt like you had so much to do and could just be in the world of Harry Potter for a while. I didn't do most of the mini-games, but managed to get through the full chess questline which was fun.
Just woke up and watched that video with a coffee in the morning. I laughed so hard on some of your jokes ! Keep up your energy and humor, you just got a new subscriber :)
Surprised you didn't mention being able to duel random students if you harass them enough, that was my favorite thing to do in it.

@@PhilOfGlimmer Just did a quick check to see how it worked again. It unfortunately isn't as easy as I remember, most people it didn't work on. It might be location based or character based (possibly only Slytherins?), or both. The way to do it though is to find a student that doesn't run away if you lock onto them, then hit that person with a combat spell (once is enough). It's also still pretty fun to try and hit people that do run, even if you can't duel them.
You're probably going to get really popular! I've seen how you got more confident as your videos went on, so it's only up from here! :)
Altough the game lost it's cartoonish elements from the first games, this is the best Harry Potter game until the Hogwarts Legacy's release. (Your reviews gets better and better. Keep it up.)
This was my game as a kid, I remember playing this for hours. I loved exploring the castle, it was always so much fun.

This is also the game from which they started using official actors from the films to provide the voices, with this game featuring 21 original actors, including Rupert Grint, Ralph Fiennes, Bonnie Wright, Evanna Lynch, Matthew Lewis, Harry Melling, the Phelps twins, Tom Felton, Natalia Tena, Katie Leung and a lot of other ones.
In fact, the bonus room features behind the scenes content which shows the actors recording their lines.
If you think ginny in this game looks ugly, wait until you see the Half-blood prince version of her.

The game would probably be a lot stronger if they didn’t drag out F O R E V E R the scenes that weren’t in the movies to pad the game out, and actually did spend more time on the movie’s plot as opposed to blitzkrieging their way through half the cutscenes lmfao. 🤣
This game is far better than the Goblet of Fire but stillworse than first 3 parts (for PC). It may sound weird but for a game set in school of magic, this one is too realistic.
Whe are unhealthy amouth of weird sweets? Dangerous creatures roaming hall and castle grounds? Carpets that can be transformed into jumping pads? Bottomless pits you can fall to?
It's clear this game was made with then new trends in gaming in mind, like motion controls and achievements. That's why most of the spells are based on physins and completing minigames doesn't give you much. aside from throphies in Myrtle's secret room.
I also don't like how Harry is slow during climbing. Mostly because around the same ttime I was playing this first time, I was also playing the Prince of Persia trilogy and there movement on the walls was crucial to the game.
Also, your editing is on point 👌🏼 keep up the great work!
19:15 I actually prefer Half-Blood Prince over Order of the Phoenix. They added amazing mini games and fixed the duel system, the only trade-off is that it's shorter than OotP. It also looks better overall than its predecessors, and it has a lot of charm and some super fun sequences. But the last two games were awful.

Order of Phoenix was alright, but it honestly feels more like a walking simulator, then anything else. I personally would rather play PC versions of the first 3 Harry Potter games, then anything else. Or better yet, Chamber of Secrets on PS2. Which is the version I am currently waiting for to arrive, since I ordered a used copy on Amazon. Glad to still have the PS2 console itself to play PS2 games on.

I don't like that the game progresses even if you didn't win the fights. You could literally go take a dump during battle and it won't change anything.

I just love this game for how it portrays Hogwarts as entirely as it can. I've wasted plenty of time just exploring, loved every minute of it. And I think the casting is actually pretty okay, when you get the hang of it.

I've just played it again for the fourth ou fifth time and I can't get enough of this game. Hogwarts looks amazing! I'm playing the entire franchise and Order of Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince are the best in my opinion (if you like exploration of course). Great Vídeo! +1sub

For me personally, HBP is one of my favourite games in the series (besides POA - I have not played the first two games, but I of course know that the first three games are all mechanically similar - more or less). Yes, HBP is shorter than OOTP, but the "mini-games" like the potions and the dueling and Quidditch made it great, plus they kept the formula of the fully recreated Hogwarts and the controls were vastly improved. The latter point is the reason, why I never could really enjoy OOTP.
Are you planning to revisit HBP as well? The last two games were (as it is well known) just third-person shooters with a Harry Potter skin, but HBP is still worth playing.
I would love to hear your thoughts on the sixth game in a review.
P.S. I just saw the end of the video, so it looks like, you are still planning to complete the review series for all eight games?

Yes it's in the game (Exactly in that cutscene at 3:44 and other times). A lot of music from the earlier games is reused.

if you ever get the chance to play on Wifi it's pretty awesome. well I mean it's terrible. most of the story duels you can't even lose or win iirc. most of them are timer based. but it felt pretty good waggling the wiimote

I downloaded this game from some abondonware website and tried, really, really tried, for 10 minutes and gave up and deleted it off of my PC. Those motion controls are a joke when you play on PC, but certainly not something funny.
