Oh, you haven't heard? The 5 Series wagon is gone for 2011. Only 878 Americans bought one in 2009 (yeah, nice going, you guys), and the most BMW ever sold was 2,351 back in 2005.

I can't call it beautiful, but I think it's one hell of a nice car. If I ever needed a wagon or a crossover I think I may end up getting this instead. They don't call it the "Ultimate Driving Machine" for nothing - believe me.

omg this car is amazing! I am disgusted with how much it weighs, and it could be more driver oriented, but as far as looks go...WOW. Has anyone seen one in person? Much better than photos. This car is different, and what's so wrong with that? Don't like it? Too bad. Buy a 550i sedan. Don't cry about it, because guess what. You don't HAVE to buy it!

Great idea in theory, the new 6 series GT does a much better job, somethings take a little while to become better.
If I had the money i would buy one... I love the unique trunk design. There's plenty of space. Plus the performance you'd expect from a BMW. Although it makes more sense to buy an X5. But I still like the styling and the uniqueness that BMW is bring to the luxury car segment.

The front looks okay,but i saw one today and the back looks like it's been rear-ended by a freightliner. I don't know what's up with bmw these days. And that split trunk design is just a rude copy of the Skoda Superb. I does however ride like a 7 series so i guess that's a good thing.
i usually dont like when bmw tries to get creative, kind of like porsche with the panamera. but this, makes sense.. wouldnt be my favorite styling choice. but it definately makes sense

I like the look I would buy. Things I dont like: the weight and the fuel economy which 15/21.
i think i almost barfed. But.................. i love the chris bangle 5 series. looks aggressive to me. im thinking of getting a 535i. Not so much a fan of the new 5 series
if it handles better than the 5 series wagon, yet has more passenger space and more power, then i guess the car justifies its existence. but, the x6 and x1 surely do not.

Why is this car been compare to the A7 when they are not direct competitors. CL- A7 yes, but not Grand Turismo. I would buy it It reminds me on 9-3, which I love
I was talking about the pontiac aztec. BMW definately won't make much of this one. They don't make many of these niche cars. There too expensive and different to make in high volume.
This thing is big but very sporty
E39 /E46 were the last German looking BMW's I don't HATE the later models anymore but only because I've assimilated. Whoever said "watered down" was exactly right. I don't know why they feel the need to make their cars look like a Camry.

@kiii23 Yeah right you own one, post a vid of it on your channel if you do. If you buy one of these it'll be worth only 50 % after the 1st year, they deppreciate faster than a falling brick because nobody wants them.

It's not the best looking BMW out there, but it still looks better than an X6. I sort of like this car.
Yeah i did watch it looks exactly the same as a slightly lowered X6 and performs the same functions fail hard by bmw.
a7 is more like the cls so dont compare it with the gt

BMW has actually looked better recently since Chris Bangle left. It's still not saying much though.

It's just an x6, only lower in height. There's not much difference. I drive a BMW X6, I've driven a Gt, it's exactly the same
dude I've talked to the guys at the spartanburg plant because i go to college near there. They don't make nearly as much x6s as they do x5s. x6's are expensive and very unique so they don't sell as much. Same with this one. Most people don't want to pay the premium for these kind of vehicals.
What i meant is they don't make as many because it's not as profitable as their more conventional cars. Maybe i should have clarified better but it doesn't really give you the right to be a douche.
I wouldn't buy this car but I have seen it in LA Auto show and it's not that bad looking car. I am sure there are buyers out there for this design/style.
My only problem with the new BMW designer is that he's making all new models (7er, 5er or 5er GT) all look alike not much difference. WHY!!!!

it's a hatchback....jeeze whats wrong with people. o it blurs the lines.... it's like calling a subaru outback an suv. it's an all wheel drive station wagon. on tall tires! carmakers are trying so hard to distance themselves from these names. and is it me or should bmw designers move to saab? seriously anyone rember saab before gm took over all there cars looked like this only you know, they were made without offroading in mind.

So it's a wagon...a squared wagon...
So BMW now has 3 vehicles that compete in the same market....The 5 Series wagon, 5 series GT & the X6.
So the 5 Series GT is faster than both of them and has more usable interior space...but it's ugly as hell.

Possibly the worst BMW i have ever seen. what happened to the BMW that designed the clean lines of the E30, E34, E39, and E38. All these cars were so simple but so elegant. All the new BM's look like a fkn mess.

i love bmw but it looks funky to me. i hate when they try to make sports cars more spacious/luxurious. if you want space buy a truck. bmw has gone soft on us its a shame.if yur gonna make a car with balls make it look like it has balls.
