I’ve bowhunted since 1994 for Northern Whitetails. I’ve used no quivers and quivers through the years, mostly no quiver bows because of the exact reason Randy discussed.
I’d also add that a quiver on the side of the bow makes your bow even heavier which in turn makes it a tad bit harder to enjoy as far as shooting is concerned.
I have found a vista hip quiver with a shoulder strap, that is set up to almost a semi side/back quiver, is absolutely perfect for ground hunting and tree stand hunting.
I believe bow quivers are severely over rated, it’s benefits definitely are overblown.
Something no one else ever has talked about is also the fact that it’s easier to hold or rest a lighter bow in your hand or lap for a long tree stand hunt in cramped quarters.
Real world experience will tell you what works best, and it isn’t a bow quiver.
