When the module comes out i will certainly buy it, i already have a studio full of keys so another 37 keys is completely out of question.
If it's not rackable then it's not coming in :-( then i prefer dusting off my A/D and SR and give them the extra love they deserve,
what's more... these oldies do'nt have these annoying trancy drumbeats, not suitable for my soundtrack/soundscapes music :-))

I too would prefer a module, but knowing Korg it's gonna cost much more than the keys one and it just doesn't sit right with me paying more for less.

Does the synth have really powerful, aggressive sounds like Korg MS 20 mini? I have an impression that it is good for soft music only. Of course I've heard some strong sounds, but they seem to be weaker in comparison to real mS 20. Am I right?

Is it mostly drones, long modulated pads, and sequenced/arpeggiated wavetable sequences? Thats what I am understanding from this synth, its awesome for it. Just confirming.

FENROK until user waveforms get introduced

Those are the best to demo, but the Wavestate (and the Wavestation) are capable of anything from plucks, chord stabs, basses and so much more.

Awesome! I am sold on it for pads and arpeggiated rompler sequences alone. Should compliment other synths nicely

good morning, I can receive your reflection on the two synths:
    argon8
    korg wavestate
    about my musical genre trance and techno;
I have watched the videos for some time and not having the opportunity to try them in person, I ask you who are experts.
I would like to receive a greater impression to make my purchase decision.
    thanks

Hi, as you've mentioned the two genres you might also include Novation Peak and ASM Hydrasynth into your consideration. Out of these four, I'd most likely choose Peak first due to its flexibility. Yes, it's a bit more expensive but it's just a lot of fun to play with. Wave Station is cool, too but maybe a bit too much bread & butter although it's capable of some huge pads, too. Hydrasynth is great for all kind of sounds and has an easy to use interface which is a plus. I don't know Argon 8 too much, though to give a valid estimation. Looks cool but from what I've heard so far it hasn't impressed me too much.

For my taste, there’s something familiar here between the sound of the Minilogue XD and this digital synth. I’ll go for the Minilogue XD this year

Yeah, you are right, that something is the logo "KORG" and that's about it. This Wavestate is to my taste an endless source of inspiration for soundtracks, soundscapes... as for the Minilogue XD... analog box with trancy harsh screaming sounds.... 2 completely different beasts with a different audience.

Rik Vanhoenacker you are right, to a complete different audience.

The minilogue has always sounded a bit too harsh for me, the wavestate would be the weapon of choice.

    • @fjfrancois

Evan North harsh? probably because 80% of the Minilogue Xd is analog, and the digital OSC make it sound harsh.
