I just added the KRS-55 wavestation patches to my Kronos, but I still think I might opt for this unit in the future if I can convince the bride to open up the purse strings once more.
I could listen to hours of Mr Fisher's noodlings , and he really brought out some wonderful performances from this amazing instrument, from wacky and glitchy noises to classic pieces.
Second Korg in a row I purchased after watching your demos ;) Monologue was the first one, and then this one now! This synth sounds incredible and it seems so versatile. The amount of sound shaping, sequencing, and processing that it allows, it is amazing! What a sound designer dream coming true. The randomising also it is just so cool too! Great work and thanks so much for sharing that amount of knowledge.
This is fantastic... especially for those who simply like to drop their hands on the keys and play chord combinations. Instant movie scores! That's Korg for ya... they have the magic when it comes to creating musical instruments and I mean musical. Great demo by someone who knows well, melodic chord combinations and texturing.

DAN FISHER!!! We worked at Wurlitzer together. I worked back in Rentals/Repairs (Mike Ciano). Glad to see you demoing. I'm drooling over the Wavestate for film scoring.
Hi Mike. That was a fun time to be selling keyboards! The Kurzweil K2000 had just come out, along with the Korg 01W and Wavestation. Yamaha had the SY and TG synths, E-MU had the Proteus modules, and samplers had finally moved from floppy only to floppy plus SCSI for storage.
@@sweetwater I had the Korg o1W/FD back in the day. Wanted the Kurzweil too. Had the Juno 106 and D-50 as well with a TR-626 drum machine. great times.
Ive watched hours of videos on wavestate, and within one minute of this video daniel has explained it more clear than ahything else I have read or seen.
Was about to purchase a Modal Argon8 .... then the Wavestate appeared ... totally smitten. Just ordered the Korg. This is by far the best Wavestate demo. Thanks Daniel .... brilliant !
After 12 minutes I threw my wallet at the screen. Given the plethora of new synths this is the most musical out there to my ears. A must have. 1-800-Sweetwater
Daniel Fisher is the best synth demo-er (and I am guessing a great keyboard player ). I love the other guys too, but he actually plays musical and creative stuff, which is really what it should be about and then he pulls out stuff from unknown places. His review in the latest Arturria Polybrute was heads and shoulders above what the other guys have done.
Wow! Thank you, ishta! Most of the time I just randomly pick a preset and decide what to play based on the preset's name. Surprisingly, we typically use most of those examples, and only throw away the ones where I completely fail to play something that works. I feel that it's a more honest representation of the product than cherry-picking only the best sounds, and then learning exactly how to play those sounds in the most flattering way. -_Daniel_
Dan the MAN> The best product demonstrator in the UNIVERSE!!! I love the way he uses harmony and really interesting & evocative chord progressions as well as melody to weave that magic spell that says "Come by and BUY me!" ;-D
Even with such a highly sophisticated synth it does help if you can really play and know your chords like the one and only Daniel Fisher. This is just good music!
Simply amazing. I have an original Wavestation EX that bought brand new in 1991 and I LOVE that synth. I will never part with it. This sounds incredible. What a range of sounds! Korg. You produce such wonderful synths. What a company. Daniel Fisher - always produces great demos and videos. This is a very emotional day for me! I just love the Wavestation. We must also pay respect to the legend that is Mr Dave Smith because all this started with him and the Prophet VS. VERY EMOTIONAL.

@Daniel Fisher. I always enjoy your reviews of synthesizers, but what you did at 16:33 in this reviews is on another level. It brought tears to my eyes, so simple, yet incredible beautiful. Reminds me dearly of Klaus Schulze. You really are one of a kind in the reviewer world. Please keep being you. Much love. Just because of you playing this preset so greatly, I might buy the Wavestate.
Been composing for a few years with virtual plugins and have been wanting a hardware synth rig for a while now. That dream finally came true earlier this month as I ordered a few things from your shop, but this thing, THIS is incredible. Just placed an order on reserve, as someone who wants to get into film scoring this is perfect for me. I'm a drummer with limited keyboard skills, but I do know how to play chords and progressions. Anyway, I am very impressed with your demo style. It's about music, not sounds. However the sounds make the music alive. Thanks.

Good for soundtracks, techno, experimental stuff, I reckon. It has a lot of the instrument samples from other Korg synths, so you could just use it as a keyboard too. Looks a lot easier to use and has much more than the old Wavestation. Korg are on a winner, it can't fail.
You're such a good musician. You don't play all the regular chords and melodies that people usually do in these demo videos. You use extended harmony, complex chord progressions and a lot of interesting stuff melodically. I love your videos!
THIS is fabulous! I have the original Sequential Circuits Prophet VS...and THIS is a very inspired and inspiring machine! Presets played appropriately, so unlike the KORG FM reissue demo. Badly played demo of really uninteresting presets...THIS is absolutely incredible!
Fantastic little beast. The good thing: you don‘t have to do all that cinematic wave-sequencing stuff. Just stack some of the countless waveforms and do old-school subtractive synthesis - it will sound excellent. I use it as kind of a more reliable ‘MainStage in a box‘ with a 73-key midi controller with aftertouch.
That "You Better Run! Split" preset at 14:27 is really cool. Only real hangup I have is not being able to import my own samples into it but looking forward to some random zen-like sessions on this thing!
Good Sound I can’t believe it doesn’t have after touch, you would think that they would give it after touch with all those sounds being processed I don’t see what having an extra modulation route would do but I guess it cut costs down enough for them to decide not to because it’s Powerful enough?
Honestly, that synth sounds quite interesting. On most patches, I see you playing with both hands, and so I am thinking that (once again) the manufacturer missed the boat by making it in only 3 octaves.

E.U. Wurlitzer was the best music store in New England, four floors of musical heaven
Instant European crime drama soundtrack. I love this.
Wonderful demo, mine arrives tomorrow
This synth sounds great, well impressed, would love to have one
Now that’s just beautiful!
Wow!!!! Very good demo!!!
That "You Better Run! Split" preset at 14:27 is really cool. Only real hangup I have is not being able to import my own samples into it but looking forward to some random zen-like sessions on this thing!
Hi Shawn. You can now import your own samples into it. -_Daniel_
So with this machine you can win an Oscar at better soundtrack? Seems legit, I´m getting one. ;)
Sounds amazing (expressive) even without having aftertouch.
Good Sound I can’t believe it doesn’t have after touch, you would think that they would give it after touch with all those sounds being processed I don’t see what having an extra modulation route would do but I guess it cut costs down enough for them to decide not to because it’s Powerful enough?
sbmphr do you know if it also respond to pressure as in polyphonic aftertouch?
Totally magical sounds. Wonderfully played as well. Thanks.
Honestly, that synth sounds quite interesting. On most patches, I see you playing with both hands, and so I am thinking that (once again) the manufacturer missed the boat by making it in only 3 octaves.
The texture level is insane. 🤤
