I hate that "Pokemon Horizons" is going a 3-week break, but I actually loved this episode and gave it a 10/10. Also, Lucca, Liko's mother, looks so beautiful.
sorry but you're have to watch for the announcement on October 15th. I told Pokefan. I told him to do an Ash and Misty in the Paldea Region as boyfriend and girlfriend just the 2 of them traveling on an date. So he like my idea. So he thumbed up my idea and gave me hearts with his picture profile. Just have to wait and see on the October 15th announcement. It's going to be so romantic and cute. They'll be holding hands, making out, make each other blush, cuddle, Ash doing cute and romantic things for Misty and they hug. Ash and Misty will wear new outfits to the Paldea Region. It'll be an cute and romantic series with Ash and Misty. I can't wait for this moment. See that really happening anyway with Ash and Misty. 😘❤💘

I really loved this episode, especially since it gives Roy the concrete goal of finding the remaining Hero Pokemon along with Shiny Rayquaza. Also, Ludlow revealing that he owns a Quagsire really surprised me, and I'm so happy that we finally got to see Liko's mother whose name is Lucca. I'm giving this episode a 10/10.
Ludlow & Quagsire was an unexpected pairing but I think it meshes well. And it looks like Spinel is going to be one of those condescending evil "beautiful mind" antagonist type of characters. His roster though was interesting with Beheeyem, Magneton, & Umbreon (albeit that trashes my theory that like Amethio & Cerluedge's pairing has to do with gemcolor reference; depending what main color a spinel gem is). Now it's time to theorize what the other 4 Six Hero illustration pokemon are now that we know Arboliva & Rayquaza belonged to ancient adventurer Lucius (in which I'd like to think is maybe is Lucca (and Liko's grandma) & Liko's ancestor)
Tbh I was just happy that Ludlow was involved since the only time we saw him was when he gave advice to the young folks xD But I liked his rain dance idea.
And yeah I just in general love scheming villains who hide in the shadows! Makes them appearing and shocking the heroes just a Lil bit sweeter!
I think some of the 6 heroes looked like Paldea pokemon. I think one of them is called Chi-yu (or something like that) but the one of the silhouettes did look like that pokemon
@@PokemonRangerBoy12 Ludlow getting a role in it was nice as we've only seen him go fishing (plus advice). And I think Chi-Yu is the Fire Bead Fish Pokemon, so I'm not sure which one fits for it from the other heroes: galloping across the land, breaking walls, flying through the skies, & crossing seas; albeit the Sea Hero looks very closely to Lapras. One hero looks like a bird (light red one) & another hero looks bovine-ish to me (very light/faded brown bulky one). The only one I can't tell is the wall breaker hero
The way the villainous organization, the Explorers, operates is very much in line with how villain groups in Power Rangers and magical girls anime do. When the initial villain(s) at the start of the story fails to do their tasks for their shadowy superior villain, they send in another member of their group who'd do things differently from the previous.
Also, since they're going to Galar next. Hopefully they do more there since they didn't do much with the region during Ash's time in the Journey's anime. It's almost like that region in a game where the old protagonist(s) are able to travel to and get a glimpse of in their game instalment. But not able to do much there themselves until the role is taken over by a future generation of protagonists.
The way they mentioned how the Ancient Hero in the story travelled the world to "seek paradise" sounds very much like it would have something to do with the "Paradise Protocol" thing in the Scarlet and Violet games. Maybe there's a tie in?
I would like to see Bede given a Adaptational Nice Guy in the Pokemon Horizon anime where Bede becomes the new Fairy Gym Leader replacing Opal and he is not adopted by Chairman Rose. Instead, he is an apprentice of Opal to replace her because of her old age.
Likos Mom Lucca is indeed hot! Furthermore even though I like your assumption of Raihan possibly appearing in HZ, I doubt that they'll make Ash canon because of that. I think 3 things are possible:
1. Raihan doesn't appear at all.
2. Like you mentioned in the video: Raihan appears but doesn't mention ash since there's no need to.
3. The classic Formular of Raihan just missing out on meeting Liko and Roy right after they left the castle.
I really like how Spinel just looks like pure evil.
Spinel is just downright evil.
I feel like Liko's mom probably knows more than she is letting on. She has something of a knowing demeanor but doesn't directly give away any information.
It's a bit of a stretch, but it did seem odd enough that there couldn't have been nothing going on.
I can't wait to see Spinel in the upcoming episodes. I like how he's observing RVT and perhaps even launched some kind of computer attack on their ship, going by the summary for next episode saying they're having some kind of computer issues.
I imagine they'll be in Paldea for a while, still, since they teased Iono? Maybe her and Dot have to work together to help out him? They could potentially bribe her since Dot is Nidothing and a Collab would bring in those sweet, sweet views.
Also, not saying Lucca is evil, but her demeanor in that scene with Friede is suspicious. I think she's lying about not knowing the pendant has a secret, since she makes a comment like "So my girl" when Friede grills her on the Terapagos thing.

But then I assumed that maybe it's just her being proud that her daughter actually started to go into a certain direction since for a long time liko seemed to be aimless and now she finally is making first steps.
But tbh evil mommy Lucca would be interesting....

if ash comes up at all when they visit hammerlocke, its gonna be in the background as a photo of him and raihan, probably blurred out similar to the ash easter egg in the sm games
Love this episode, looks like it’s opening up to something big, with the illusion and the story and the bad guys are spying.
I know I might be overrating,but this is my second 10/10 episode of pokemon horizons. This episode was STACKED and CRACKED!! like my voice,after everything that's happened in this one episode, is legit gone.
Now this is how you get your audiences hype for future episodes. The writers more than deserve this 2 week break,They're cooking something PEAK!

I'm glad that you're so excited for the episode but 10/10 is a bit much especially when you consider that the first half of the epsiode was the gang basically doing field work.
But it was a solid episode in regards of setting up multiple things so I think a solid 7 or 8 would be more than enough.
But regardless I'm happy that you loved this episode so much.

I lost my mind multiple times throughout this episode, that's one of the reason why I love this episode.
If an episode makes me loose my absolute s**t,then it's a really good episode.
@@pixelsaidon5032I have to admit I also smiled when Ludlow showed up and actually did something instead of just giving advice! :D but even though the field work was nice to watch and did help out the Forrest, imo it's nothing we haven't seen before. Not the fault of HZ, since pokemon is such a long running franchise and plot will repeat itself at one point or another.
But I really did like the rest of the ep, even though I wished Lucca (Likos Mom) would have played a more relevant role to the overall story of Liko. She just showed up, revealed that she didn't know anything about the pendant and revealed where likos grandma could be.
People will never let go of Ash.

Mom trusts Friede with Liko because he was her student. And they all talked about the ancient adventurer story like it was fiction because it obviously was, that's why it's so simple, he never actually existed, Terapagos just made all the stuff in the story real.
Was it outright stated that Friede is Luccas student? If I recall correctly, they just kinda indicated that but didn't outright say it.
Also while on the phone Likos dad Alex stated that just some parts were fiction and after that talk both Liko and Roy concluded that their has to be truth to some parts of the "fiction" as well.

Last time I said it was nice to see them try Mini-Arcs ... but I didn't know they would just cram the epilogue of the last episode into the beginning of this one, and then leave Paldea (and Nemo! T.T) behind again already.
It's absolutely an improvement that the episodes are more connected to each other now, but that doesn't make an Arc, the pacing is way too fast.
This feels lika a treasure hunt where they run from one random clue to the next, and now we got a sudden exposition-dump about the Ancient Adventurer ... even if I was interested in the adventure, this isn't how you do it.
And the connection from a/the castle in Galar to Ash is ... thin, to put it mildly ^^ So far I don't think there was any hint that Horizons even plays in the same Universe as the previous series. Holding back with references like this just to suddenly go for the vaguest of connections would be weird.
Also I think that it was already said Ash would come back at some point - without aging of course, and the moment I have to see freaking 10 year-old Ash again is the latest moment I'll drop the series for good, so I'm okay with him not showing up for some time.
(Sidenote: I just played through Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and it has the exact kind of payoffs that the Pokemon Anime was too stupid to do, which made me squeal with happiness, but also realize again what we could have gotten if the series took its characters and story seriously. It's a crying shame ...)
And that's actually all I have to say about the episodes (plus tangents ^^) ... don't know, even when the story does progress or there are new information, it doesn't really feel like anything meaningful so far. Spinel showing up at the end was kinda neat to keep the flow going, but the battles in Horizons haven't been so good that I'd looking forward to the confrontation.
Gimme a Nemo-Spinoff series!
Tbh I actually wanted to adresse the pacing issue, but then I also remembered how before Nemo left the gang she said that she wants to battle Roy the next time they will meet which imp at least hints on a future return to both Paldea and Nemo. Also we really should make another return to Paldea since there are still so many things we barely have seen yet like e.g. The other gym leaders and the champion ranking system. BTW if I recall correctly I saw images from some sort of trailer and in that one Iono (Paldea electric type gym leader) was there as well so we will surely make some sort of return in Paldea! 😊
I know that connecting the "arcs" isn't really something to praise.... But we both also went through 3 years of journeys and compared to that mess I'll take everything I can get!
And honestly even til now the whole concept of both Roy and the ancient advanture just doesn't convince me at all. It looks an feels so tedious and yet so uninteresting at the same time.... I really hope at least the battles to conquer the 6 Heroes will provide some much needed action.
Yeah I know the whole castle/ ash connection thing was a stretch xD but tbh I couldn't find any other interesting sounding headline besides likos Mom (who is hot) and besides that nothing else really stood out.
But yeah even though ash is still popular, I honestly couldn't agree more: I would prefer for HZ to not feature him AT ALL! (at least not for many years) Would be cool to see them be their own universe but since you already mentioned they are planning on letting him return... Well... I hope he at least contributes something.
But yeah we can all do nothing but dream about an adult or at least teenage version of ash being a mentor to liko and Roy... But that ain't gonna happen, because of MARKETING!
Hopefully we will see Nemo again. I already miss her.

No, of course I don't think Paldea is gone for good, that would be crazy ... and at least Horizons hasn't gone off the rails like that so far ^^
For now I only meant the pattern of each episode; arriving in Paldea -> going to Liko's Dad -> getting a hint -> Going to the Gym/meeting Nemo -> getting a hint -> going to the Forest -> Getting a hint ... and a special Pokemon -> leaving Paldea
There was not much time to breath for this arc, they'd rather fill it with more or less unrelated (though not necessarily uninteresting) stuff, which makes the sory fell pretty thin.
Naah, I'm really not willing to lower my standards (much ^^) just because the last years were crap. They already did this much better!
And the connection I meant is more between the episodes... so far there is really only one overarcing story... which is indeed not that interesting.
I feel like "New hot Pokemom!" would gather enough attention ^^
And if the castle is indeed the gym it will be interesting how they handle it if they will actually bring in known characters. Raihan was one of the few good things in Journeys, he deserves more screentime.
I'd be fine with Ash coming back if it's done right. Give me properly developed adult (or at least aged) Versions of all the legacy characters and I'll stop my boycott of the franchise in an instant ^^ Give me the same crap as the last 20 years and you're dead to me...
oh ok now I get what you mean! It's basically the Same problem HZ has with battles right now aka following a certain pattern and repeating that over and over again.
In that case I have to agree with you, but I think they actually had some "unrelated" but also interesting things during their time in Paldea like the characterization of Brassius, molly and of course Nemo. It juts would have been nice to see more of that (especially in regard of Nemo and of course also some mire action would have been nice )
Haha thought so since both you and I also consume other things besides pokemon and therefore we know examples of how to do it better. But just as you said: even disregarding other media, the pokemon anime itself did it mich better in the past. But I still have my hopes high for HZ because let's be honest: it can't get any worse than JN.
Yeah that's true but tbh there isn't really another ongoing storyline that potentially could connect those mini arcs together. Maybe if Liko had some sort of ambition that would span across the regions, but since she still is searching, the other option (and the only option) is Roy's quest and the Ancient advanturer story.
OH now we're talking! Raihan really was one of the best things in Jn I just loved his charisma and nonchalant vibe! He really needs to come back but this time without overlord Leon dangling all over him.
Again: we all wish for it! I really wanna see a more adult ash, serena, dawn etc. But sadly we all know that won't be the case even though with the liko daughter theory we actually had the PERFECT chance to finally do something with ash in terms of aging! God damn it! 😢
I don't know about you, but I'm... kind of interested in these Six Heroes of Lucius? (Sidenote: unintentional Blazblue term, by the way). Though it is still uncertain how the series is going to handle this type of plot, we'll just have to see. If this Paradise is actually Area Zero, then I'm interested in how the series will adapt some of SV's story elements into the anime, if the writers ever decide to at all. Also, I'm not sure if you comparing Horizons (or the Pokemon anime involving Ash) to the likes of XC3 is really fair. Sure, something like XC3 has a much better story structure (for the most part), at least Horizons is trying something with its plot with some minor issues here and there and has its own kind of style to work with, unlike how Journeys completely went off the rails to the point it being a complete and utter mess that it totally deserved to be trashed (yeah, I'm still beating that into the ground). Plus, something like XC3 is its own different beast but I get why you're comparing such a thing to this. At least, that's how I look at it.

As for them metioning Ash? Knowing Pokemon... yea I doubt it so I predict it will be a generic random castle or Raiha will be conviniently not be on screen or something XD
A gym leader conveniently not being at his gym when the main cast visits totally sounds like something JN would do but since this isn’t JN maybe they will surprise us but I certainly don’t see expect Ash to be mentioned. They could maybe mention the PWC to give us a hint that the previous anime is canon in gen 9 but straight up mentioning Ash is probably next to impossible.

Although I really prefer Ash to be canon or the same universe as Liko’s world is,it seems that this idea’s intent is just to please the Ash fanatics who are already thirsty to see Ash again even though he just left for TWELVE episodes as of this comment’s date. It might end up being a double-edge sword and with how we know so far about the writers,they might ACCIDENTALLY pick the negative/disadvantage side of this idea. The thing they can do to prevent this is to have an indirect discussion about what I call the Ash fans want and what I call the pokémon fans want together with the writers to formulate a hybrid solution(a combination of the ideas of the three groups mentioned) that will LESSEN fanservice. Do not let just one group be satisfied. As the writers,they should be responsible on how make EVERYONE(our side and their side) satisfied when watching their work.
I'm hoping Ash is canon to Horizons just because I think it'd be awesome for him and Liko to interact... Much later, of course. Not anytime soon.

I didn't wanted to feel like I didn't had his support or his attention by just not coming to see me anywhere cheering me on. Everytime I come home after every region I explored, I've always hoped that he would be in the living room with my Mom waiting for me so I could tell him stories from my journey just as he use to tell about stories about his. The last time I saw him was my 10th birthday, a week before I got my Pikachu from Professor Oak. That was 5 years ago. After 4 years of coming home just wanting to see him, I just gave up. I became a Pokemon trainer because of him for his love for Pokemon. I felt hurt. After all I've been through and everything I've done trying to be like him and his idea of letting me choose my own path made me felt he didn't even notice. It took my own mother to get him come home to talk to me, and if that's what it takes to get him to see me then I had nothing to say to him except on how much he hurt me for all those years I never got to see him. So I told him I won't accept any apologies from him, until he's understood how much made me felt. I haven't been at home since. That was a year ago.

Ash: Lucca, I'm not asking or demanding, I am begging you; Don't make the same mistake my dad did. It's not worth gambling your relationship with your daughter. Come home every time Liko does just so she can see you just to tell you and Alex stories of her journey and, go out and see her every now and then just to do all kinds of fun things you two use to do. (Lucca remembering fun moments with Liko when she was little) Just let her know that it is her own path to choose but you and Alex would support her every step of the way and that you love her very much.
Lucca: You've given a lot to think about Ash.Thank you. May I offer you some advice too?

But, your father made these choices not just for your path to learn how to follow it on your own, but for all the choices he made that put a target on his back from all the enemies he made, especially Team Rocket.
Ash: And my friends and I are the ones who ended up defeating them all in battle. Not him.
Friede: Yeah, he clearly didn't put how powerful you are into a factor.
Ash: And that's just another notch of resentment from me to him.
Lucca: There must be one fond memory you had with your father that might be a start on a path to forgiveness for you both.
Ash smirked with joy: When I was little, I told some other kids about my dream to be a Pokemon Master and they laughed at me. But my Dad told me something I never forgot; The map to your dream is inside yourself. If you give up, your dreams never gonna come true. Being on this journey with my Pikachu made me start to get what he meant that I already achieved the dream from day one by achieving the relationship between me and Pokemon. That's why the one thing that hasn't change between us is how much we both love Pokemon.
Friede: Then perhaps you start there.
Lucca smiling with glee: You and Liko are a lot like than you realize. (Ash looks at Lucca out of curiosity) She loves pokemon just as much as you do, and you would make a great mentor to her. With you and your crew, I know my daughter is in good hands. But I will take your advice seriously just as you promise you'll do the same with the advice I gave you.
Ash remembering all the fun memories he had with his Dad and smiled: I will.

We talking about the same series that left out Lucario in offscreen land for 9 months and right after that he earned Mega Evolution by "jumping very high".

Ok, based on what we've seen so far it looks like the story of the ancient adventurer was very generic on purpose bc the series wants to reveal more about the story gradually over time. The whole theme of this series is uncovering mysteries and it would not be a mystery if they reveal everything by episode 12

We haven't been confirmed the timeline for this anime yet, have we? With not a single re-occurring character or event having been mentioned, is it not still highly possible that this one is just set many years out of sync with Ashs' timeline? So much so that going to Galar, going to the same gym Raihan was the Leader at, with a new gym leader, a new champion and they still don't acknowledging a damn thing. If it's at least the same characters, them not acknowledging anything doesn't crush all possible theories but an entirely new cast of characters essentially replacing the only characters we *could've* known, would
I feel like if the first 10 minutes were just an 1 minute aftermath of events of the last episode before the intro, i feel like we would have gotten a lot more focus on the setup. I feel like Liko's mom should have been the main focus of the episode, and uncovering the story of the heroes would be the b point, 10 minutes on just a normal mission would make a lot of fans Skip this episode I feel.

Pokemon Horizon was literally made as a soap opera. I cant say if this will have a profound reaction for the 10 year old demographic that this show is themed towards.
Sure, some adults who watch the series, seem to have the patience to sit down and enjoy the slow pace story, but have my doubts of 10 year olds being this patience, especially with a short attention span.
Most of the characters are mundane, and the only slightly interesting cast is Roy, mainly because he's catering to the nostagic fandom that enjoy competitive battles and pokemon captures.
Bro, if you skipped 10 minutes of the episodes you can´t really say that you actually saw it. Also, how TF is this an uneventful episode? We literally learned more about the hero, the episode introduced Liko´s mom, the new mission of the team of finding Liko´s grandma, it set up Spinel´s involvement in the story for future episode and we saw baby terapagos again.
That's how I can tell that you didn't actually listen to my video:
1. I skipped the first 10 min IN MY REVIEW to not waste time on it. I even said at the recap that "Friede finally was able to join Liko and Roy" and that both Orla and Ludlow were involved in the restoration of the Forrest. How tf would I know that if I (according to you) skipped the first 10 min?
And the "uneventful" Part referred to the first 10 min. which factually were uneventful, because it boils down to them doing field work.
I even stated that the whole purpose of this episode was to set up several things like Liko and Roy gathering the 6 heroes, the search for her grandma and Spinel analyzing and making his moves.
I did say that the lore of the hero was vague and generic, because it was and I assumed that they did that on purpose.
So nice try being a smart ass but next time listen to my video FIRST before spouting some nonsense

First man, no need to be rude.
Second, I just think this episode can't even be considered uneventful when we even saw Ludlow participate for the first time and even shows one of his pokemon (I honestly still think that he must have a drampa somewhere though, because I really doubt quagsire to be his ace). Sure, his participation wasn't that much but I think it's still a nice detail.
I honestly did wish for Liko to have a bit more of a reaction to seeing a kantonian evolution of wooper. But granted, she probably didn't even notice that quagsire evolves from a wooper form.

But yeah I did like that Ludlow was finally involved but his involvement wasnt really a reason for me to then describe every action during the field work.

6:13 I really hope that they WILL NOT take 30 or so episodes just to let Roy and the Black Rayquaza reunite again. And even that the reunion will happen early on,I hope it’s not like,”Hey Zoma,we let them reunite. I’m done with you. We’ll just focus on our idea,to let them reunite after 130 episodes for the final conclusion.”. Knowing that this is a legendary pokémon AND a goal of a main character,I hope that this idea won’t be a one time event. In other words,don’t let Rayquaza be Mew in Pokémon Journeys.

No shot it's Ash. That would mean the stories are saying the adventurer's most iconic pokemon is the Black Rayquaza and not Pikachu. And that story was like a thousand years old at least, there's no way it's Ash
