  • We happened upon this stunning gravel road between Graafwater and Clanwilliam which would take us to Klawer. There were so many Rooibos tea fields on this route and they had many Tsamma melons growing amongst them. We found the scenery to be very beautiful, not to mention Skurfkop, a small abandoned station. After speaking to a local farmer, he told us that Rooibos tea can only grow in this area and nowhere else in the world. They export their tea all over, including to places like Germany and Japan. #DustBugs #adventuretravel #southafrica #southafricavlog #skurfkop #rooibos #germany #japan

Hi Curtis we just love watching you guys. Just to give you some info about the donkey (I heard these stories growing up) the sweat stripe that you refered to on the donkey's side is actually in the shape of a cross that runs down his back and both sides of his body. According to some stories in bible times the donkey carried Mary to Jerusalem for the birth of Jesus and God put a cross on every donkey for that reason. There is also another story that a little donkey carried Jesus on Palm Sunday and this little donkey was so proud and loved his Master but when he saw Jesus on the cross he was grief stricken so he stood at the foot of the cross and turned his back, the shadow of the cross then fell across his back and since then donkeys have a cross on their backs. I hope that it will bring a smile to your faces knowing this lol. Thanks again for the entertaining vlogs.

Love your videos. The old Skurfkop station sign has "192 miles to Cape Town". Next to the station name. So ja, pre metric days. Thanks again and keep up with your fantastic, awesome, amazing videos.

Lovely video. I think that Palm Trees are Date Palms by the look of it. Dates are grown commercially in some arid areas.

Love your donkey impersonation. You were probably swearing at them in their language and got them all aggro : )

Rooibos tea is served at the Ritz in Paris, many resorts in Las Vegas have it, it has also found much favour in the United Arab Emirates.

Loved your choir it was so lovely to hear them reply. The horses always did the same for you. I can imagine what story the farmer had to tell his family and friend's. The bridge was fabulous. Such beautiful wide open spaces.
