I had a brief 6-month environmental rehabilitation project in Montagu about 3 years ago. Since then, I have made a point to revisit CBR atleasr once a year. There are a few things to do in CBR, but what gets you is its inhabitants, real, good people, and like Anneline said, there is an abundance of amazing energy and magic in that little town. Sending Montagu all my love will see you all in the next month.

I thought I'd create a kind of Montagu for me and my family...and in my mind I'm very nearly there. Rustic ,nearby mountain, fruittrees and veggies , woodstoves, grapes , lots of clourfull bougainvilleas abundance of wood and water, gas, solar and more to come.
However I now know I won't succeed in my mission. It takes more than a lifetime to succeed and above all I need to integrate with this kind of community . We won't be able to create that sense of community on our own. I need Montagu.... djou lekke ding.

I don't believe in that "lay line" bullshit, but it's definitely a great town. And that blue and white house have a very interesting name! Was it painted over or was it edited out in this video? Because I visited the town again today (16/06/2024) and the name of the house was on the top. It used to be a brothel in the 20's called "Poesiehoek"

@@AfricanTravelCrew, then the name was painted out during the time you filmed and added back again at a later stage.
