First time in Saginaw i came from texas to Saginaw for tailgates n tallboys festival in Midland Michigan. I had a blast in Saginaw the people were friendly and inviting. Had multiple great conversations and never had a negative moment. If you look for trouble I'm sure you can find it, however my experience was, fair to midland.

Same here, born and raised Saginaw gets a bad wrap because of its past, but compared to the old 90-2000s days she would've been driving a whole lot faster through some some of these hoods lol

It looks country because every other house or building has burned down or been torn down. Most of the homes and buildings I remember from my youth are gone.

Word of advice. Anytime you want to see poverty stricken or blight areas in the innercity visit the NUMBER streets (2nd st. 4th st etc). I am a black man Saginaw born and raised . I left the city for a better career. Did not mind living in Saginaw but I outgrew it. When I got my degrees the job opportunities were elsewhere. If you can make it in Saginaw you can make it anywhere. You started off on the North end which is the worst of the worst (number streets) you should have rode around there more to get antrue representation of the ghetto or what is left of it.

But you aren't missing much in leaving, I mean the crime and street gangs have gotten a million times better, but it's just so GD BORRRRRING anymore, there's literally nothing to do.
Anderson's gone, our mall is just collecting dust, no clubs anymore (the vu but nobody wanna see them old tired hood rats naked anymore) and the worst part is everyone walks around like they're king shit high class and not just another dust bunny nobody from Saginaw Michigan.

Most of them went to prison when they cleaned out Sunnyside/folks, a few handfuls of families still around here and there.
What I always wondered was where'd all the Vietnamese and Korean families go? When I was young they were everywhere, now .......I don't think I've seen an Asian person in like 25-30 years.
