I live in Traverse City and anytime I have anyone coming up from down state I request they stop by Spatz bread and bring 5-6 loafs!❤❤
It makes the best toast there is!

The Whitehouse Restaurant in Clare is one of my favorite diner type restaurants anywhere. And those ladies have been working there for 40+ years each.

This is a mighty old video of saginaw Mayor Branch passed in early 2019 . and the parking lots across from Jakes now have portable camera trailers parked in them because of people shooting up and down Hamilton st every weekend at bar close .

One thing I found as irony was the Saginaw Sheriff Department/Saginaw Police Department had joint sub-station next to this parking structure, when Sheriff Department was basically a two blocks away.

We discovered cops and Donuts right after they opened, we loved it and so glad it become a destination for so many, we still stop there anytime heading north for our baked good for or trips further north and I of course get a squealer or 2 and a large coffee

Thanks for the compliment! We love what we do too and have toyed with a national show, but we are doing so well with Michigan, that we don't want to make the change.
Our show is broadcast on PBS stations all across Michigan, Canada, and other Great Lakes states...we don't do a lot to push the episodes on RUclips...it's more of a holding bin for 9 seasons of the show.
If you want to follow us on social media we use UTRMichigan on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Finding a place to sit to the best place Saginaw was always a chore if you waited to go out to eat. It reminded me going to Frankenmuth or Tony's in Burch Run where there always seemed to be lines to get a set so one could order and eat. This before Door Dash and Uber Eats became popular, and Corona Virus outbreak in 2020.

Spatz's Bread is the best bread that I ever tried. The only thing was everyone else in the Saginaw loved it too. So there may be times the store you went to, may be out of Spatz's Bread.

Some of Eric Shantz first outdoor mural type paintings was on the plywood covering the windows and doors of boarded up buildings. I don't believe any of those exist anymore as those structures were either bought and renovated or torn down to make space for new buildings.

Yes it makes the best toast. For anything else you have to acquire a taste for it. I usually purchase a loaf of other bread to make sandwiches, while Spatz bread would be use mainly for toast in the morning.
