They sound beautiful, like a mix of the Mamas And Papas and the Seekers.
Spot on 👍
They are great, this is so 70s, The Lightning Tree was the theme of a tv show called Follyfoot
Fabulous group. Very talented. Soothing and peaceful music.
We used to sing this in junior school in music assembly, back in 1980. ❤
I love The Settlers’ version of Nowhere Man. Great group. They should have been our Eurovision entry at the time. Candy sounds so much like Judy Durham, what a duet they would have made together.
Settlers or Seekers… the debate of the decade
Both great groups you can't really compare
T he Settlers are good but a life long Seekers fan Judith Durham and The Boys were SUPERB!!
Cindy Kent is excellent but Judith Durham is superb!!
Bloody Marvellous
I'm happy to learn of this wonderful group...thank you!😊
Used to like Jackie Lee singing the martini advert great voice and white horses
This brings back memories x
Loved follyfoot
That was it ! I knew was the signature tune to a children's TV programme.
The singer Cindy Kent was just on the Bidding Room selling a filing cabinet
I watched it as well! She posted it on Facebook earlier today so I made sure to record it.
It was a great cabinet!
i knew cindy in the 80's when she was involved with all saints church in whetsone north london, where the vicar was adrian benjamin, who starred in the film, 'doctor faustus' with richard burton & liz taylor!!
She was on again today 21/11/24 so must have been a repeat but I enjoyed her wee song she wrote about the bidders in the bidding room❤
@@joycesimpson1595 Yes just watched it too - I would loved to have owned that cabinet - and just noticed she still has a good head of hair
Without You is new to me. Been waiting for 'Someday' which they brought out in 1968, to be on YT. 😀
Follyfoot theme song, how the years fly by.
Just seen (18/04/24) Cindy on BBC1 in an edition of The Bidding Room. She was selling a big piece of furniture.
@jokepy4230 Yes, I saw that! I haven't ever seen the program before (I'm over from Oz) but thought it was worth watching. And when Sister Cindy mentioned 'Follyfoot' my ears pricked up.
The guitars are acoustic, so is the cello, they don’t need amps
Are they just miming to a multi-dubbed track? The instruments are unamplified and they don't look like they're actually playing them. The female singer sounds like about 6 people!
Yes like many songs that you see on top of the pops it is mimed…👌👌👌
Isn't this the same tune as "The Wellerman?"
No.
@@cathybrind2381 Exactly the same. Different lyrics.
identical to The Seekers
Flat chested.
God this is awful 😢
Terrible get off
Buzz off
Yes. Buzz off!!
Music is OK. Fashion is another matter...........
