100 years of Olympics. Atlanta 1996. By far the best Olympic Songs. Celine Dion's Power of the Deeam written by Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds and Gloria Estefan's Reach.
This song should be named America's official Olympics anthem forever...so inspiring and beautiful.
2022 and still gets me chills listening to Ms. Gloria Estefan. She wrote the song in 15 minutes. Diane Warren suggested the tittle Reach for an Olympic song, so Gloria did the lyrics based on the rehab what she went through after her nearly fatal crush bus accident

I missed those days back when singers are REAL vocalist,no trashy revealing outfits and auto tune but simply pure raw talent.

"Reach" works great as a song for sports and for everyday life. I'm undergoing rehab now and find this inspiring. Then I remember that Gloria herself had much more serious injuries six years before this performance. That gives me more hope and patience with my own rehab.
This song always brings me to tears ever since it came out. I wish you well in your recovery. You can do this
The Morehouse College choir in the background gave me chills. To feel the power of their voices intensified to the heavens, put on a headphone. I can only imagine just how electrifying an experience was for those who were lucky enough to be there.
Kudos to Gloria and Diane Warren for creating such an iconic and timeless masterpiece.

@@zon12Muita linda, mas essa canção eu acho que não combina com os jogos olimpicos. Essa das olimpiadas de 1996, a da Witney em 88 e aquela instrumental do filme "Carruagens de Fogo" são a cara das olimpíadas.

Very anthemic! Goosebumps. Seems like so long ago, before so many dire episodes in our history. It was so cool having the Games in the U.S.
Very VERY few artists have the gift of singing just as well live (and in some cases better) than they do in the studio. This lady is one the few.
One of those special moments that I was all too happy to experience as it was televised in real time. This performance was spectacular. Gloria was the epitome of everything that the host country should be. The drum finale was absolutely hair-raising.
I love Gloria and I hate to tell you, but this is a playback performance 😓
@@CaptainPond Most musical "renditions" at open-air Olympic and similar ceremonies are "lip-synched" because of the acoustics of the large and open-air stadia. It is an industry standard and nothing new. The people who pay high ticket prices get a better balanced audio with the pre-recorded performances.
Wow I so wished to be there but I lived 8000km away in Hungary. This was my favourite games, the last ai actually enjoyed.

Nice tribute in my opinion this song & the Celine Dion song "The power of the dream" (1996 )are two of the BEST Olympic songs of all time both are beautiful songs.

2022 e ainda assistindo essa linda apresentação que eu assisti ao vivo quando eu tinha 16 anos. Gloria Estefan é a cantora e compositora da letra desta música, nela ela se baseou na experiência de luta para voltar a caminhar após um acidente de ônibus onde ela quebrou a coluna.
também assistir isso ao vivo ...que orgulho ter vivido isso...de hora em hora tocava nas rádios...
