    Do you have to do any upgrading to any other components to handle the extra power--especially the trans? I have an E550 4.6 twin turbo. Also, is there ever a time where you'd want to revert to un-tuned? I know Renntech has that capability (but costs nearly twice as much)? Great interior on your car btw!

      E550 is sweet! For the GT the trans is fine up it’s the clutch that will start to slip if you tune it past 800 or so hp. PTG designed a Dodson clutch replacement if you want to go past 1000hp. It’s capable of 1500hp but anything over 800 you need to upgrade fuel delivery and clutch. I still might do turbos and tune to 800hp on 91 octane. But with the fuel system upgraded you can switch between different fuel maps. Personally I’m not planning to revert it back if I sell it I’ll sell it as is, but I don’t think I’ll be selling it anytime soon either I just went stage 2 with Weistec full downpipes and mid pipes set up it’s insane! Thanks I love the interior too!

      @@FreshRootsExoticCars Wow that's a ton of power. I live in California and still want to be able to daily the car, so the stage 1 Weistec should be all I can do to keep it street legal. Did you do anything to your trans for your stage 1 tune/should I if I go that route? How much power do you have right now? If the clutch does go out, is that an expensive repair?

      @@paulwolski6213 I’m in SoCal myself so I completely understand your concerns you can literally switch back to stock in 10 minutes with the stage 1 tune. I don’t have a tcu tune but I’m going to talk to Weistec about what to be honest the shifts are already perfect so they might have thrown it in a few days ago when I got the stage 2 tuning sone you have to get another tune after downpipes. If the clutch starts to slip in buying a Dodson PTG one it’s like $6k installed. I’m at just under 700hp right now and she rips!

    Cool video Bro! I have been debating back and forth between Renntech and weistec as well. I’m running the Renntech tune on my GTS. I want to do down pipes w/ 200 cell cats. I don’t want to do straight pipes, I don’t want the exhaust smell. Yeah a lot of people say Renntech is good but expensive. Still debating.

      That was my same dilemma! I’d say if you’re already running the renntech tune to stay with them especially if you’re going with the 200cell sport cats, although I think their downpipes are way overpriced, for what they charge I’d prefer the craftsmanship of Fabspeed and their 200cell set up. It doesn’t need a tune either. For me if I want to shoot flames, it’s got be straight piped, I’m going to have to pray the smell doesn’t bother me too much

    If I go weistec stage 2 on a cls550 do I need a Tcu Tune too ?

    • @FreshRootsExoticCars
      @FreshRootsExoticCars  2 месяца назад

      You do not! I’ve heard it gives crisper shifts, but I’m totally fine with my shifts currently. The TCU tune (in my opinion) is most beneficial if you’re trying to go over 1000hp, and you’ll want to pair it with a clutch and fuel system upgrade, but for pump gas daily rides I don’t find it necessary.

      Let them know Fresh Roots with the GTS sent you and they’ll join you up. If you need help getting the downpipes shipped I can assist as well they won’t ship them from my understanding.

      @@qebab5733 hmm I'd recommend getting downpipes locally and having Weistec do the tune. I really am happy with the ECU tune from them its unlocked a lot of power and in daily driving it nearly 7k miles in the past 6 months I've had no issues!
