I've been following this channel since the trans am days. But I gotta say this car is def one of my favorites. I wish you would buy it to see more vids of this beast..
I had a 2009 C63 with P30, then a 2010 E63 (no P30, open rear) and then a 2012 E63 w/P30 and optional posi rear. The C63 was not bad power wise with 451 hp out of the box. The M156 E63 was definitely nicer with the MTC trans and launch control but I didn’t feel like it was much faster than the C63. Then I stepped up to the 2012 E63 biturbo. It was hands down faster than the 2010 E63 but I still decided to get the RENNtech tune which brought it the power up to 669 hp 774 tq. I can tell you this made the car insane and anyone who went in it was terrified. I would really love to see that blown E63 with the run against a rear wheel drive E63 biturbo with a tune only.
@@AssetHunter sorry I don’t have it anymore. Some guy in Chicago bought it from me. I looked up the VIN a few years ago and it was ghettoed out so I doubt you’d want it anyway
That was a great video Alex! Man you could really see the drop in the back end when she hooked up! That had to be one awesome test drive. Superchargers are great. Even my little C230K is like a little go cart. Wish i could bump the stage on it.
@@gregs8685 I purchased the car with most of the Renntech mods already in place. I had Renntech build-up the transmission. The Weistec 3.0 liter supercharger and supporting mods were added by me - as well as the American Racing Headers. Before the E63, I had a 600hp 3000lb Audi S4 - so the naturally aspirated 6.2 felt weak in comparison. The Renntech mods didn't do much being the car was naturally aspirated. I went to Renntech to see if they'd add turbos or a supercharger, and they didn't have any options. So I started researching and went with Weistec to add power. I rarely ever raced the car. I drove it like an old lady. But I had a few challenges, Porsche 911 GT2RS, a couple of Nissan GT-Rs, a Renntech modified twin turbo SL63 AMG, and a Hellcat. All from a roll. I never lost. I never ran the quarter mile and I never floored it off the line. I do my best to treat my cars well...
You know you got a good channel when BMW freaks like me watch all you Benz stuff! I'd love for you to try out my little 1 series Alex 😃 she's semi built with 500+ hp!! My best 1/4 mile was a 11.7 @127. I was happy lol
I have a stock 05 E55 AMG with a 5.4L V8 that puts out 365 to the crank, and a S/C blower that gives the V8 an additional +111 HP. You would think a 476 HP AMG super sedan with quad pipes would have some whine. None. It sounds like a NA motor. A muted one at that. Even without the whine you’d think it would sound loud. The exhaust has been muted with 2 sets of cats, a resonator, and mufflers. Wtf is the point of quad pipes if you’re going to mute the sedan. I wish I had a loud exhaust to accommodate my quad pipes, and some blower whine to accommodate my 500 HP German V8. Instead I am under the radar. No one wants to race me, no one even knows it’s fast. When I do give it a pull, no cops hear me. That’s a benefit.
I love these special MB AMG vids you’ve been doing lately...they are my favorite. Getting to see what’s out there and what is possible (if your loaded and could afford it) is really cool to watch. Another solid vid from one of my fav car channels on RUclips, keep up the great work!
This is my favorite E63 by far (style wise). I’d love to buy this car and add it to my fleet. I currently have a 2012 E350 4matic I daily drive and love it. If only this E63 had a black interior.. it’d be perfect.
Awesome video, on point delivery. But man, this Benz is something else. Just wished, that Germany would have the same allowance regarding noise. The car sounds like heaven 😍
Part 1 15:45 - you are correct to an extent. The M156/M159 were not that reliable and were marred by what I call suspicious factory faults but (unlike the M157) their cranktrain was pretty stout up until you were pushing 900HP+ through them. Any more than that and then you would run into problems like spun main and/or journal bearings - or the conrods would either bend, break and or let go. Even though they definitely have reliability issues and probably have the worst reliability reputation; I don't know if the M156/M159 are the least reliable AMG/MB V8 engines - because there's been a few doozies from the factory when it comes to faults and planned obsolescence; like the M157 and to a lesser (but still noticeable) extent M113. The M133'a had their fair share of issues (or shall we say planned obsolescence) with their oil chains, lubrication systems, poor/unnecessary "quality" o-ring in between the scavenge pipe line and pump housing from the factory. These 2 items alone could be fused together causing issues or alternatively a copper or more suitable/durable o-ring could be used as a simple/reliable fix - but it wasn't. The oil strainer pipe does not bother to feature a strainer on the end of the scavenge pump line despite the fact that it serves as the main oil pickup for the oil pump and therefore the entire engine. Please email me if you want a photograph that shows you how this looks from the factory. This designed fault ensures m/any metal particles that have made their way into the sump (from, say, the below-mentioned oil chain issue) will have a greater chance of being picked up by the scavenge pump line and then being pushed back into the M113’s lubrication system. AMG and/or MB should and do know better. But doing the right thing earns the stealership less money on rebuilds. The o-ring that is installed in between the scavenge pipe line and pump housing from the factory (is not required by design and it) breaks down, crumbles and then can destroy the cranktrain by way of facilitating the oil pump to severely aerate the oil and/or drop pressure. The result is often spun crank-train journal bearings; oil pressure starvation to the bottom/top end; and/or a thrown/bent rod. Anyone that has pulled apart a used M113 (one of the more reliable AMG/MB V8's) will attest to the fact that the oil chain almost always touches the block and grinds it out; with all grindings/filings falling straight into the sump for the aforementioned scavenge pipe - that features no oil strainer - to pick up. Most M113’s with 100K - 150K on them will (behind the timing cover) also show significant grooves as a result of the chain rubbing on the main short block assembly; and with respect to this please also see my other/above comments in relation to the scavenge pump and o-ring shortfalls. Part of the problem is the chain tensioner, as they usually break and/or do not hold up to what might be considered reasonable wear circumstances for even a Japanese engine - let alone an AMG/MB V8 . Please email me if you want to see the photographs of this issue. M113 Crankshaft Sensor; if the crankshaft sensor can't reliably detect where the radius of the crankshaft is pointing (and relay that to the ignition system) then it and/or the ignition system will be unable to know what cylinder is about to require the spark to initiate the combustion process and/or power stroke; and then the engine wont start - or if it does it won't run smoothly. It’s not uncommon for M113’s to intermittently start, run for a while, and then stop; and a faulty crankshaft sensor can be one reason why. If the engine has done more than 70K and/or is not new then replace the crankshaft sensor straight away - even if it has not showed any problematic signs - as it doesn’t always handle multiple heat cycles very well, particularly in climates with large temperature swings like Canada. M113 Transmission Cooling System; flawed due to the fact that, for some M113/M113K’s it is also a part of the main cooling system for both the engine/supercharger (M113K) and as such if the main radiator gets damaged then it isn’t just the engine that gets hot - the transmission and supercharger cooling systems also do too; which in turn can play funny games with the engine’s ECU, and potentially overheat your entire engine to the point where the pistons score the bore and/or the cranktrain is starved of lubrication/oil. M113K Supercharger and Related Mechanical Systems; there are a few supercharger issues that plague most M113K’s and they usually relate to the tensioner/serpentine system, the supercharger pulley bearing, and sometimes the pulley itself. This (the tensioner system and supercharger pulley bearings) is usually where that squealing noise comes from that often happens when M113’s start up; and it usually persists for a few minutes before fading away as the belt/pulley assembly warms up and provides the required traction increase. M113 Cooling System(s); the entire cooling circuit (intercooler, transmission cooler, and radiator) of the M113 is flawed and will only remain operable and completely free from problems for people that rarely drive their car and/or live in cold climates like Greenland and Sweden/Norway. The solution is a separate dedicated cooling system for the transmission, supercharger, and engine. I would completely replace the transmission cooling system. Depending on various things including what country the car was built for; some M113K’s had shared cooling systems meaning that if the main radiator was damaged then it wasn’t just the engine that got hot - the transmission and supercharger cooling systems boiled over too, as they were still a part of the same system. It’s an utterly flawed design approach that brought many a tear to an owners eye when they received the repair bill - whilst earning MB stealerships a lot of money. The best (and in my opinion only) to the problem solution is to fit separate aftermarket transmission and supercharger air-water intercoolers. You want those supercharger intake temperatures as cool as possible and that's almost impossible to achieve when the engine, transmission, and supercharger cooling systems, are all on one circuit. M113 Main Seal; the rear main seal on the M113 is often problematic, costly, leaking, and costly; particularly if you take the car back to the dealership and they repair it. Rarely does the seal last beyond 150K without developing some leak and/or deformity; and when you consider what I have said about the lubrication system it is probably not a surprise. M113 Valve Cover Gasket; usually leaks at some time. These above/below problems are not cheap to fix. As such fitting a dedicated/external transmission oil cooler and a new/reliable pump is a good idea. If you look at my posts here ruclips.net/video/N0uGo6g4TFQ/видео.html you will see a list of the problems associated with the M157. Sure not every M157 engine develops all these faults but for $100K + luxury car they should not be happening at all in an MB/AMG at the low mileages that some of them exhibit.
Especially considering that Chevrolet can make a (similarly sized 6.2 litre or even a 5.3 Litre) V8 that lasts for years and doesn't have these kinds of major problems with the first 2 years of ownership; unless you abuse them. So, why cant MB/AMG?
Mercedes supposedly upgraded the issues in later years. I have a 2014 C63 507 Edition with the cam adjuster rattle. I spoke with Tasos Machastos and he stated that he still sees later years like mine with issues. He said they still have the cam adjuster rattle issue, the lifters sticking, camshafts pitting and/or rounding out. The head bolt issue was the only thing fixed. I wish they had fixed all the isssues cause I love this car its a beast and so much fun to drive. There are not many daily driven cars that can beat it. I have the luxury and 507 HP whenever I need or want to have some fun.🤣👍
Do you sell these cars after you fix them or keep them??? Honestly I think your the biggest Mercedes fam I’ve ever seen on RUclips and honestly persuading me to look In Mercedes direction
The AMG Button in the W212 is freely configurable: you put the car (gearbox, dampers, ESP) into the settings you want to store and press and hold the AMG button until you hear a beep. Then the next time you want those settings you just press one button. And as a headphone user: Many thanks for the Warning! Oh and as far as wikipedia knows the 204 C63 also had the MCT from the start.
@@LegitStreetCars Interestingly the german wiki site states the C63 from 2007 onward with the MCT while the english site says it was fitted from the Facelift onwards. The english one is more detailed, so maybe that means you are right.

Lol "a loud whining noise under the hood"😂😂😂😂
Colton Ratcliffe maybe someone trapped Greta Thunberg in there
Love the used/older AMG content.
Man, I wish I was ready to get a different car. That car is a steal at roughly $35k with those mods, exactly my price range and what I'd be looking for. Would've jumped on a plane from Philly to go grab this at that price.
One of the coolest AMG ever made
What an ~ exciting video ~, the car sounds fantastic, and the look on your face, your boundless sense of enthusiasm is palpable. Thanks Alex!!! Keep em coming!!! My 09 W209, gets a little squirrly, almost scary when putting my foot into it... kind of like in this video...
Great video Alex @legitstreetcars. Nobody else on RUclips is showcasing these AMG monsters. And in you doing so you keep fostering my love / hate relationship with these cars. Love em when they work correctly, hate em when they always break. I really wish I could square away my ML55 but that trans is killing me. Probably gonna sell it.
trolling the mercedes technician was hilarious, you should do that with your c63 come in and say why the heck is this thing so loud? i think its got an exhaust leak, lol
I've been following this channel since the trans am days. But I gotta say this car is def one of my favorites. I wish you would buy it to see more vids of this beast..
-You've got supercharged engine.
-What do you mean?
hahaha im dead :D love the channel !
Holy cow! I thought an E550 of that generation was wild. Thats INSANE!
How’s the 5.5 V8 BiTurbo in that gen E63 facelift? Facelift came in, i believe, 2014.
Its a monster i have it bone stock after tunes it obliterates this amg,
Really enjoy your informative commentary Alex! Helps further the understanding of my '13 W204 C63
Can I buy your E63 bi turbo?
@@AssetHunter sorry I don’t have it anymore. Some guy in Chicago bought it from me. I looked up the VIN a few years ago and it was ghettoed out so I doubt you’d want it anyway
What an AWESOME video!!! Loved, loved loved....seeing that monster.
WE LOVE ONLY MERCEDES-BENZ ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This car makes my s5 look like a Honda Fit
James Larsen Your s5 makes my Honda fit look like a Honda fit
Kalle Specki Honda unfit
That was a great video Alex! Man you could really see the drop in the back end when she hooked up! That had to be one awesome test drive. Superchargers are great. Even my little C230K is like a little go cart. Wish i could bump the stage on it.
This was my car. Let me know what you want to know about it. I never lost against anything. It had GREAT traction down here in Florida...
Sal Collaziano So you did the Renntech mods and then added the Weistec supercharger? Please tell us more about it’s history. Thanks
I do my best to treat my cars well...
if you want to really feel a car you should drive it like you stole it. not all the time but sometimes ✌️ cheer's
19:28 that is the way that I feel whenever I drive 2019 CT6 that is tuned, exhaust supercharges and has really grippy tires. That car legit scares me
Nice video. That car is sick! The engine bay looks great, it looks like it came from the factory with that way.
Its a good car when it runs, its a GREAT car when it scares you
Welp there are people scared in just anything above a lawnmower.
That car sounds angry when you put the gas to the floor! 🔝 I love that sound 💯
Your passion for performance really came through in this video. Nice.
Amazing vid. My boys and I watch all your stuff and drool over what we see.
"a young kid would seriously get hurt. this is amazing"
One of the best videos I've seen in a long time is the vehicle still available
You know you got a good channel when BMW freaks like me watch all you Benz stuff! I'd love for you to try out my little 1 series Alex 😃 she's semi built with 500+ hp!! My best 1/4 mile was a 11.7 @127. I was happy lol
This comment!
Damn the E Class looks so good
That car had to be bought by you . Why you let her go😔😔
No. That car is complete and at it's limit. I'd rather see another project car.
I'm a BMW n54 owner but always watch your videos!!! Love those engines
Anybody else wish they can have a supercharge engine and not know?
😂me
I have a stock 05 E55 AMG with a 5.4L V8 that puts out 365 to the crank, and a S/C blower that gives the V8 an additional +111 HP.
S600 V12 please, the cheaper the better
Best intro ever!
Another awesome car and video!!! Also noticed the parking lot numbers have numbers 156 and 157, like engine numbers m156 & m157
Love this channel its refreshing to see other builds besides dodge chevy and ford
Your C sounds so much nicer than that E. Also, I never realised the grille doesn't lift up with the bonnet/hood on that model E !
Part 1
15:45 - you are correct to an extent.
This is exactly what I was looking to buy thanks for such a great video!!!
😂😂🤦🏿♂️ bro you should go to the dealership and play dum and get their reaction because that was funny love it
Do you sell these cars after you fix them or keep them??? Honestly I think your the biggest Mercedes fam I’ve ever seen on RUclips and honestly persuading me to look In Mercedes direction
3:00 love that smiley face when startup the engine
The AMG Button in the W212 is freely configurable: you put the car (gearbox, dampers, ESP) into the settings you want to store and press and hold the AMG button until you hear a beep. Then the next time you want those settings you just press one button. And as a headphone user: Many thanks for the Warning! Oh and as far as wikipedia knows the 204 C63 also had the MCT from the start.
I think the C63 got mct in 2012
@@LegitStreetCars Interestingly the german wiki site states the C63 from 2007 onward with the MCT while the english site says it was fitted from the Facelift onwards. The english one is more detailed, so maybe that means you are right.
Fantastic video man. I love “sleepers” but that beast is so bold it may not count as a sleeper😂😂
That is one serious sedan. Luv it.
I haven’t seen Alex this excited before
Another great video! Born in IL myself. Need to work in a Chicago dog or Italian beef into a video somehow one day! Love that Chicago food!
This is one of those " i can afford to buy it but not maintain it" for me. Are they reliable?
Love the way the whole video is about power but the visuals show so much heavy traffic. If ever there were a reminder that it's pointless having a fast car, this video may be it!
Wish I knew this was out there! Thinking about ordering a new E class 6.3 AMG wagon - but something like this has more power for a lot less money. I suspect the $80k difference will be chewed up in repairs and tire replacements! Great vid with little BS, refreshing. Subscribed.
My butt dyno agrees part killed me 🤣🤣🤣
love the video, keep it up!
Some of y’all my be saying that little scene when he took it to a tech is stupid and cheesy, but Mercedes clients really do be like that sometimes. 😂😂
Sounds badass
Despite the cam issues I had this video makes me miss my 2011 e63 so much
Great style videos! Please keep showing us dealerships that sell these cars around Chicagoland and include detailing shops and shops that help with maintenance/tune/performance upgrading shops! Love your content! Thank you from a fellow chicago'ian!
The look on the Tech's face when you started the car was priceless
That thing needs some drag radials. Love that stock exhaust with longtubes. Sounds great!
VRP said is releasing a supercharge system. have VRP SC installed on your c63..
Thank you so much for showing this car - precisely the upgrades i am thinking of doing to mine in the future so now i know it will all work before guessing and spending the money.
What an amazing find! A bit too wild for RWD, unless it is taken to a track IMO. I would have bought it if it was on a market right now.
It is videos like this that got my subscription, no so much the car, but the content and quality of the information in it!
Thanks Pete! I appreciate that
Eargasmic!
Alex, looks like you need to change your shorts after the test drive! LOL!
This car is quite the monster! I want!
