Man this was a really great time! Thanks for being open to filming this following the discovery of the new engine being bad. Cannot wait to see it on your car. Oh, and for those watching, We took it back to the same dyno again with a smaller pulley and made 659whp! Still more room to grow! Thanks Alex!
Happy to be apart of this! What a journey and such an awesome ending! A lot of hard work and dedication goes into each and every build! We thank you All for the kind words! 🙏
Hopefully next time Alex is at your shop, you guys will have the E63 all buttoned up with the smaller pulley, bigger injectors and please, please put an LSD in the rear end. After all the work you did on developing an amazing Supercharger kit, the car definitely deserves an LSD out back. Sick video and incredible build!

Anyone who has ever driven a fast car they had real passion for knows those good first rip feels. I love seeing people experience those kind of moments. Btw, the 2 85mm throttle bodies don’t add up to 170mm, because cross section of the area of the circle is what matters. So the actual convention is to a single 120mm throttle body. Given sqrt(2x(0.085^2)) = 0.120
Love that at the end of the dyno run as it is winding down there is zero popping or missing…totally smooth on the way up and down. With a quiet exhaust it would b the stealth dragster from hell!
@Red Beard's Racing: depending on where you live, having a ripping exhaust like that can get you in trouble. Sound alone can get you tickets if you are in an area where cops are a-holes, or your neighbors complain enough. Besides which, as long as it's not killing power, I'd rather surprise the hell out of someone with a sleeper than advertise it, so to speak.

Amazing video, Alex! You should totally do this blower on a W211 E63, Just because you never see those! Also will pose a challenge with the transmission etc. if anyone can make it work, it’s you. Would be so cool to see. On that note, I do have a black W211 E63. While not broken, I think it could be a good base.
Don't want to rain on your parade, but, the supercharger lid is definitely ballooning. At only sub 4psi, it needs to be redesigned with a thicker wall, additional hold down bolts and some serious reinforcement. Otherwise, this will fatigue fail and/or pop with increased psi. Great results for a prototype!
Take a good look @ the cover on the blower when its on the dyno (around 40 minute mark) as he gets off the throttle, you can see it "sink" like half an inch!
Alex, Thanks for another great video. I have a continuous smile the whole time I watch your content. It's just good, clean, gear head fun. As always, great content and great work!
Absolutely loved this episode. Love how positive you are and how you see the best in things even when things are going wrong. Also, I knew you were in WV from the previous couple of videos, but didn't realise you were in Martinsburg. I have family there and the rural areas around Martinsburg are absolutely beautiful.
@victory road performance and @legiststreetcars "WOW" Great job guys! Just one observation. Take a look at the intake manifold @39:40 - when he let's off the throttle. The manifold is contracting. Seems like it's flexing from the pressure. Might want to check out the material used or beef up the structural design. If it flexes that much at ~4 psi, it could pop any higher. Awesome to see this platform getting the attention it deserves! Can't wait to see what these engines are capable of and where you take this! Well done sirs!
Great video! Amazing results! You're definitely super excited as if it was your own car! I can attest to Cars really do bring strangers together like brothers! I'm going to guess its an LS swapped Trans Am?
Wow! Alex another amazing video. That supercharger is insane! Videos like this are why we watch you. Your genuine joy and love for what you do really comes through. So happy for you and the success of your channel. Always one of the highlights of my week when I get to see another video. Keep it up! You're awesome!
When you come off the first pull on the dyno (roughly 39:38 in the video), it looks the supercharger lid has ballooned and then comes back as you come off the throttle. I have no idea if that's an issue or if they need to beef up that prototype part.
I saw the flex too--mainly from the wiring harness moving, but watched it again and it definitely was the lid. Either put more supports underneath or make a thicker lid.
That thing is insane! They better put some taller ribs on that blower cover you can watch it move when he lets off the gas on the dyno. That's way too much movement for 10psi! 39:38
“The power band is just like.. Yes” 😂 loved that. I’ve loved watching your videos for years now! Crazy the luck you have with those engines… lol I have pretty bad luck with my 86 4Runner lol would love to see you work on a 1st gen Toyota
Damn, that's a nice and clean proto kit! I wish I could be a tester for a prototype system. Get tuning and play fun while they get data and optimize it...
My Uncle lives in Martinsburg, and I remember going there as a kid, the hilly roads were SO much fun. My Dad would drive fast-ish just so you'd get that sensation in the pit of your stomach. I loved it so much. Great place for shenanigans.
2x 85mm diameter throttles are equivalent, area wise, to a 120mm throttle. But wall and butterfly losses in the dual smaller throttle bodies mean that they are equivalent to less than 120mm.
All I gotta say to Mercedes Benz is that I want this engine and this supercharger setup, but in a pickup truck with an AWD or even 4x4 drivetrain. Just something to think about.
That is some well thought out and slick engineering on the E.... unreal power and sound too! BTW, I also completely agree with you about the E cars. I don't care how fast or how much power they can generate in my mind they're soul-less. I'm going out on a limb here and guessing it's a newer camero...LOL.
In regards to the throttle body size, you mention that the twin 85mm throttle bodies sum to 170 mm 'of opening'. However, it's worth noting that a 170 mm throttle body would actually flow double the air as two 85mm throttle bodies, since area increases with the square of radius with circles. A 120 mm throttle body would be equivalent in terms of area to the twin 85mm ones.
From Australia! Not a merc fan! 😒 BUT WOW! 😃 incredible product with little changes to the vehicle! Congratulations on a remarkable product guys. Look forward to seeing if you can make one for an Aussie GM Holden 5 litre engine! I would be proud to put a product like this on my VR SS 5L Commodore in Anthracite Grey - Manual! A blower engine without that whine!?! Ooh yeah! Oh Alex! Your car sounds like corvette mate! Sounds nice! Love the show! Subscriber for long time! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Very impressive supercharger. It won't make 700 BHP with that hot air intake. Can't wait to see you do 129.6 mph in the 1/4. You were so relaxed when you said "we're 11 minutes from the shop." I feel like you'd be a little more tense if that happened in Chicago. Maybe time to move the fam?
At the end of the first pull on the dyno you see the billet cover sink back down like it was expanding from all that pressure. I hope that isn’t gonna be an issue
Yeah, youre right, just saw it on the second run. You can see how much the cover expanded when it sinks down after he gets off the pedal. I definiteley think that part should be made just a bit stronger considering they wanna push a lot more boost than in this initial test.
1,218 comments at the time of the writing, but I'm guessing it's that Trans Am starting which was seen around the videos in the background. I love these videos you put out, definitely one of my favorite channels here on RUclips.
Passenger side intercooler will not cool as well as the drivers side. The piping will flow less water to the passenger side unless restrictors are placed in the tees.
I’m a huge fan of your channel and VRP. I’m running an E55 with a Stage 2 Kit and a few other goodies…….. I think you should hunt down an E63 for this super charger built. I’ll be looking for the new build series.
Well done for pushing the boundaries and excelling in what your doing, innovate never imitate, you can’t move forward standing still a great piece of work from all of you 👍👍👍
Since you say you already have one, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say another Caprice Police Special. Doesn't sound like a Firebird. Maybe another E55. Looking forward to your next video
Best vid in a looooong time! It was great to see how you enjoyed the time on the dyno and chatting woth the people about all the other cars, too. Really nice!
Sorry to hear the rust was caused by pressure washing! I never buy a used engine thats been pressure washed. In addition to potential water damage the pressure washing can also cover up any leaks that you should know about.
Had I known you were I'd had loved to pick your brain in person and meet some other WV Gear Heads. My son enjoys your videos and you break down for those who don't understand the mechanics of things.
Fun fact the twin screw SC technology was patented in 1878 but the technology of the time couldn't realistically manufacture the "twisted" screws which makes alot of sense for the 1870s timeframe. Root style was so much more popular auto or aircraft because of engine rpm reasons, everything was low rpm back than.
at 44:18 when he lets off the throttle you can see the SC lid flex back down when the boost pressure is relieved. maybe a redesign with larger reinforcement ribs of generally thicker.
I definitely think a W211 E63 is the one that deserves this insane VRP setup. The W211 is a genuine Legit Street Car 💪 A W164 Ml63 with the kit would also be awesome 👌
A buddy of mine had a C63 AMG Black and I truly LOVED that car. It also had long tube headers and he had a centrifugal supercharger adapted to work on it. It also had complete straight pipes, much larger injectors, an aftermarket Walbro Hellcat fuel pump (the same 530 LPH pump that I have in my 709 whp Civic), and he had everything dyno tuned. I don't remember what it actually made, but it was close to 700 whp. I got to drive it a couple of times and let me just say that how that car pulled and how my car pulled is like night and day. The RWD and the instant torque from that supercharged V8 scares you at first. My Civic has a 1.8L DOHC VTEC engine with a GTS3582 turbo and hits full boost (34 psi) around 5000 RPM and then it scares the hell out of you, but only if it catches traction. I was able to take out a C8 Corvette from a roll with my Civic and Toyo 235/50/15 R888Rs on the front. That C63 was all around fast, but it had LONG legs. You'd punch it and it was like a damn rocketship. Before you knew it you were at 120 MPH and shaking.
Another great video. As for the car you picked up, I'm thinking another Firebird/TA and I think there was a cameo of it at 26:02 and 26:15 in the video.
Damn I’m sitting here smiling like this is my car/setup. I’m happy I found this channel I look forward to your videos they really helped me after my leg surgery. Fun video. Car comrades taking cars to new Limits. Congrats to VRP...great work. One quote from Alex: pointing out flaws on Bad engine and says " that's not legit". Only top performance from Legit Street Cars. Yeah.!
The reason they make whining is the cut on the gears and the oil it uses, so they probably have a improved cut with bearing noise kept down with the recommended oil different than what they used in the past im guessing.

However, it's worth noting that a 170 mm throttle body would actually flow double the air as two 85mm throttle bodies, since area increases with the square of radius with circles. A 120 mm throttle body would be equivalent in terms of area to the twin 85mm ones.
Humbly I'd say this blower is engineered towards perfection, congratulations on this huge success.
This is a great episode, I smiled the whole video!!
Thanks! That means a lot!
Looks like the blower lid is bulging from the boost. Awesome video
That cover was likely to explode, very thin. But the output is awesome.
ML63! Would love to see this output on an AWD SUV dude. Make it happen... we're here for it!
Is this another mod you are going to do and then let your unsuspecting Mrs test out of the drag strip...
You know you did a good job, when even the "Dino guy" gets exited 👍
Dyno - I hear ya
@@CS-oe8og excited
Put it on mine! 2009 S63! She runs just fine but I got almost 150k miles on it. Still runs like a champ.
My M156 car vote? I'd say a CLS63 W219, those things look, sound, and drive wild! That VRP blower would be INSANE on one!
Hey Alex, I think a lot of people would love to see that blower on the totally forget CLK 63 AMG. Cheers
Love this vid!!
Got me at “the powerband is just like YES”
Followed with “can I drive?”
That alone tells me how it feeeels :)
Awesome to watch this!
Man, that E63 is absolutely nuts, can't wait to see this supercharger at it's full potential.
ML63 with that blower and AWD, thats a budget Trackhawk! ML63 all the way!
Talk about a Kompressor kit inspired by the Brotherhood of Muscle...
This would be THE kit to get any M163 Merc vehicle to the next level!
Love this channel Alex is such a amazing person you can feel his genuineness
When Plan A for the video doesn't work out...Alex brings us a highly satisfying Plan B video....this was awesome!
I was going to comment that the motor looks like it was pressure washed.. so yeah with it looking like that I'm totally not surprised.
Another great video Alex! Amazing power out of that prototype. And you bought another TA!
The W211 is a genuine Legit Street Car 💪
A W164 Ml63 with the kit would also be awesome 👌
I'd have to guess that the car you bought to get home is a GTO, maybe a 2006 with the 6.0 liter. It sounds exactly like mine did firing up.
To all the people worried about the blower lid flex. This is perfectly normal, call Whipple superchargers and ask if you care that much.
Another great video. As for the car you picked up, I'm thinking another Firebird/TA and I think there was a cameo of it at 26:02 and 26:15 in the video.
I agree with this comment. Outro clip matches the cameo car and he does currently own one.
I have a fully sorted '06 C230 2.5L V6 (fixed all the problematic issues). If VRP did a system for the M272 (maybe)...OMGoodness!
Damn I’m sitting here smiling like this is my car/setup. I’m happy I found this channel I look forward to your videos they really helped me after my leg surgery. I was in the hospital for
A month an your channel really took me to a different place mentally(in a good way) thank you Alex I really appreciate you
Fun video. Car comrades taking cars to new
Limits. Congrats to VRP...great work.
One quote from Alex: pointing out flaws on
Bad engine and says " that's not legit".
Only top performance from Legit
Street Cars. Yeah.!
The reason they make whining is the cut on the gears and the oil it uses, so they probably have a improved cut with bearing noise kept down with the recommended oil different than what they used in the past im guessing.
