- Abby & Brittany need a break...spring break! The girls head to Texas to visit a family friend with their mom, Patty and roommate, Kayla. They go shopping, get manicures, ride bikes and hang out by the pool.
Between all the fun, sunshine and manicures, they are also preparing for their first job interview ever! Will Abby & Brittany be nervous upon their first glimpse into the real world?

It is so fascinating how they talk, sort of over each other, sort of in stereo, sort in interrupting, finishing each others' sentences.
They have always blown my mind….how they literally work as 1. I think about them from time to time. Cause this was done so long ago.

I was just showing my 9 year old grandson this after seeing one got married. I was trying to explain to him out insane it is that they have 2 separate brains but work together to make their one body work. Literally mind blowing! I love how their parents didn’t tell them they couldn’t do certain things. They are incredibly young ladies!!! I’ve been following them for years. So proud of them and their incredible and supportive parents!!!!
Their enthusiasm and how they talk together is SO WONDERFUL!

They were hired right out of college and continue to teach in a Minneapolis suburb.

I admire them because they were much more normal than I was as a teenager and I wasn't even conjoined. They might be rare and conjoined twins but they manage to be normal teenagers. I didn't even live in the real world when I was a teenager.

Question: of Abby controls 1 side and Brittany the other.. how does Abby control the gas and brake when driving? Maybe I missed something bit I'd like someone to school me on that please... thank tou.
You don't drive with 2 feet.. you use your right foot for brake and gas..

Learn to drive normal, lol.
If I recall correctly, at a very young age they developed (or maybe were just born with) an ability to coordinate without any sign of communication, that's pretty much defied any known explanation. Their doctors don't understand, because they don't share any physical structures currently associated with "thinking", and (I think) there's a dividing line so that each one only feels and controls her own side of their body.
Yet as kids they were able to ride a bike without much trouble, walk and run steadily, swim, dance without choreography, and know when something is physically bothering the other without seeing it. So this also translates to driving a car, and I think it shows up in the way they speak as well - like there's a subconsciousness they share while remaining separate individuals.
Apparently this type of thing isn't uncommon in multiples, especially identical twins, but it's really hard to study because it's so nebulous that creating standard lab tests is impossible. So it remains a mystery.
(I personally think the incredibly complex human body uses some physical means in addition to the brain for sharing this kind of complex information, but we haven't learned what it is or how it works.)
