Hi outlaw quick question, Why dont samurais use shields?

Excellent question in actuality Samurai in the early days of the heaion period did in fact use Shields it's just as time went on their Shields went from looking like the standard European Shields to being the arm coverings that you see on Samurai armor those wide rectangular arm pieces on located near the shoulders because early Samurai needed to be able to use a bow and use a spear their primary weapons also I believe that once the samurai started to incorporate early muskets they start to build shield wall like structures to hide the musket users behind them the misconception that Samurai didn't use Shields comes from the fact that we don't see them fight with shield and sword in hand they had Shields they just slowly went out of use in the traditional sense

Mostly because samurai used mainly 2handed weapons.

Yeah I have a hate relationship with the honshu katana, just did a traditional katana vs the honshu

I don't know I never got around to thrust testing but I'd say it would be a decent one
