    I've seen a few videos about this pack and I've ordered one tonight as my Osprey Zealot is a bit big for my MTBing but does come into its own when you need a lot of gear for a long off-road ride. I just thought this Talon would be ideal for usual trail use.
    I'm a fan of Osprey bit as I also use an Osprey Savu hip pack for gravel rides....All their kit seems to well designed.....Shame, however, that the hydration pack isn't included though....

    Thanks for the video. I was looking at the Talon 11 and the Viper 13 and they seem pretty comparable. I am looking for a smaller size daypack that would be good for occasional hikes, casual bike rides and just something to grab for short days out. I like the features on the Talon but since the hip belt isn't detachable I'm not sure if it would be as convenient to just throw over your shoulder heading out the door. How would you compare the 2? Thanks!

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  5 лет назад +1

      While the Talon is a fantastic pack, the Viper may be more suited for your needs. The Talon is perfect for day hikes but has a much more substantial hipbelt that could get in the way for day to day usage. You may also want to check out the Daylite Plus: www.backcountryedge.com/osprey-daylite-plus.html for a lightweight, versatile pack.

    I’m struggling between the 11 and 22 by talon. I definitely don’t want too large, but I don’t want too small either. Is one literally twice as big? I’ve seen the measurements but in real life, I wonder how much larger it feels on the body.

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  4 года назад +2

      While mathematically it sounds like one would twice the size, the difference in the dimensions is not quite so dramatic. The 22 measures 20" x 11" x 11", whereas the 11 measures 19" x 10" x 10". The 22 can certainly hold more, but doesn't feel terribly much larger than the 11.

    would have been nice to know the size of pack you have, as well as how tall you are. That way we can easily gauge if a s/m or a m/l would be better

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  5 лет назад +1

      Hey Kevin, good point! We've gotten better about including that info, but still don't always manage.
      The measurements for the Talon 11 are:
      Small/Medium: 16"-20"
      Medium/Large: 19"-23"
      Happy Trails!

    Great video. I am looking for a versatile bag for biking, running and hiking.
    Which bag has the largest main pocket? Osprey Raptor 14 vs Talon 11.
    Does the Raptor 14 really help to carry more stuff?

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  5 лет назад +2

      The Talon has a larger main compartment, but the Raptor has more organization and capacity overall. The bottom pocket of the Raptor is perfect for bike tools to be stored away form the rest of your gear. The talon is more versatile for all activities and the Raptor is a better bike specific pack. We would recommend the Talon in your case.

    • @Enwild

      Hi Tobias, Osprey incorporates a stiff foam sheet that utilizes cutouts for maximum breathability. It will give the bag a good bit of shape but will not provide a rigid stance like wire or metal.

      Most pack manufacturers recommend selecting size based on torso measurement, rather than height or weight. If you have never measured your torso before, here’s a video demonstration: trailsense.enwild.com/how-to-measure-your-torso-for-backpack-fitting/

    What would you suggest for cycling /running??

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  6 лет назад

      Thanks for your question! The Osprey Talon is a great all-around pack. It would be perfect for cycling because of the light attachment and the helmet lidlock. This won't be an ideal pack for running though. You could get away with running in it periodically, but if you plan to run regularly, we'd recommend other options. We carry a lot of running packs and those are designed for the distance and amount of fuel you need while out. We'd recommend giving our Gear Specialists a call to chat more about your specific needs so we can help narrow down your search. We're in the office from 9am-5:30 PM, ET, M-F. 1-800-617-0643.

    Got this as a day hiking pack, but ended up exchanging it for the 22. The 22 is more versatile because it os larger. The 11 is nice, but too expensive for just a one trick pony pack that I'll use for just day hiking. For only $20 more, I can use the 22 for more activities.

      That was a personal item, so although the exact size is unknown, it is one the standard width Hydraflasks, not the wide mouth. All the standard mouth widths are the same, but the height varies with ounce sizes.
