- THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY THIRTY THREE YEAR OLD HEART TO THE LEGO GROUP. What an absolute joy of a project to get to work on, even though I cried a little bit at least once out of frustration.

i’m cracking up at the kid who’s favorite part was “for example, lunch”
Relatable introvert queen
Exactly how my autistic friend speaks. This crew is cool af. Love a bunch of brilliant nerdy kids.
Yeah, but i bet that lunch was objectively great.
@@topherthe11th23What Autism is has changed over the years as medical science has advanced and it was found to be a
spectrum with various symptoms that can include being non-verbal but that isn't always the case.
Autism is not the only thing that has changed over the years due to advances in medical science over the years, it's totally normal and not sinister at all.
I have no idea where you got this "broadened in a sinister way" idea from but it makes no since.
free lunch is always the best part
"it looks like a pretty standard vehicle" that kid
my favorite part of the whole video is "I liked the lunch"
@@simonegiertzKids are like “Standard build, top notch execution, good lunch. All in a days work.”
Your videos are joyful, Simone. And you honoring your tired doggo’s needs is precious. ❤
"Yep, this is all up to code."
In summer, we made meat helmets. Standard, really.

Man! Scraps has come SUCH a long way! I remember when you were having reactivity issues with her. The fact that she was chill with so many strangers around is incredible. You must be proud of her and you should be proud of yourself! 🙂
I was really really really proud of her. The fact that we had a whole crew of people over (and lots of kids!) and she was so sweet to everyone was a huge step for us!
@@simonegiertzScraps has probably picked up some feline chill!
Your videos are so great and fun to watch, thank you.
@@simonegiertzas a fellow dog parent, I know how big that feeling is. Very happy for you.
Favorite line: "...especially the bad ones." IMHO, the freedom to fail creates success. Thanks for that moment in front of kids.
That stood out to me too- I love the sentiment behind it!
It cracked my stone-cold heart when Scraps needed a nap. Sometimes, you just need a nap.
“Table piled high with Lego” is definitely one definition of success.
My nine-year-old self said the exact same thing.
Being reached out to by LEGO group is the definition of success
🎉
Life goals for sure
They are desperate to sell their overpriced stuff with solid competition
It works exactly the way I envisioned it. That girl is a bloody genius
Yes, she definitely is!!
10:24 "theres really no debate about it for me" in regards to Scraps needing a nap. IM CRYING :') What a good dog mom. Reason no. 3943 that Simone is a good role model
100% agree!!! That line is the reason I came into the comments
And Sk8er Scraps is a good roll model.
@@HellOnWheel Hahaha!
@@HellOnWheel Sk8ter Scraps should so take off.
Veterinarian here: nice job with Scraps in terms of the training and knowing when to give her a break.
What an amazing adventure this was! Thank you, Simone, for including our amazing kiddos. Much love to Scraps, she is such a sweet girl. 💜💜💜
I love that when engineering looks like magic to an outsider, you show the whole process. Somewhere between 'how hard can this be?', 'how can i make my 27th version even better' and 'this is easy, it just fries my brain'.
As a fellow engineer in a different field, this really made my day better!
You know youve got a good comment when it gets stolen by one of the bots
That 7:06 moment is the cathartic reaction from a long project where nothing goes right and it just FINALLY goes your way even a little.
Cat project: a device that puts things back on the table after your cat knocks it off.
Please people, upvote this comment. This is an invention we're all waiting for.
the cat yoyo
@@SOOKIE42069 I scrolled past, and then scrolled back up just to like your comment bc of how much I liked the name for this idea!
I'm thinking a fairly simple winding mechanism with sensor to start, which will winch the object back... or maybe something that just dispenses a new object, preferably when the cat doesn't see it? Hang on, I think I have a spare webcam somewhere...
There's that infamous robot, the useless machine. I could imagine something based on that logic. Then I would like to watch the facial expression of a cat, when the object immediately comes back. Again and again...
That kid, "I could build this simple vehicle in your creepy shop no problem" ... I might be paraphrasing.
Scraps is very smart dog, and she looked super happy doing this. I have the feeling she didn't care too much about actually skateboarding, but she loves participating in the experimenting and the building. And pleasing Simone. She's the perfect shop dog.
Love those kids' brains and confidence in engineering!
"I wanna hear your ideas, especially the bad ones." what a f*ing legend you are 🥺
Exactly what I needed today, right now. Also, thank you Danish people making my favourite Swedish person cry! That made me, a Hungarian person cry.
Simone, kids, Scraps, you are all amazing!
Also: Simone not forcing Scraps anything to do she's not comfortable with, meanwhile Laura was promising Smudo to never ever ever put him into a tiny box... It's not a coincidence that you two are my favourite makers, inventors, creators on this platform.
If you started a series of building things entirely for Scraps, I would 100000000000000000% be invested
Most real comment from the kids 11:25
This is one of my favorite videos ever. Simone! Scraps! Kids! Lego! Collaboration! Scraps! Fun idea, well executed, with frustrations and problems solved!
Thanks, Simone!
LOVE THE KIDS! They are so confident in their critiques! Those are some strong science and/or design brains right there. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Simone, You are such a loving dog mommy. I like how you let Scraps take a nap during the scheduled "Lego Shoot" rather than being a "Stage Mom". Brava Simone. Brava.
"Local robotics club" AND IT'S THE COOL KIDS GIVING IDEAS! this whole project has so much awesomeness involved
I like how that one kid is all "she executed MY idea pretty well, almost the same as how I would have done MY IDEA myself"...
Yeah but can see it in her eyes how she's knows what she's doing, it's 100% tongue in cheek. She sounds pretty nice and mature, I was very impressed.
3:50 - Protip for dealing with a camera that won't autofocus: Use manual focus and stop down the lens to maximize depth of field. It's the way us grognards delivered in focus footage and stills for over 100 years before the invention of autofocus (which still, as you now know, fails.)
Kind of a cuteness super supply here. I mean, Scraps is always a shining cutie, but WET Scraps!? Wow.
Those kids seem really cool and smart, they have bright futures ahead for sure
Footage of Simone doing "snow" angels on Lego.
We all know she did it, we all want to live this experience vecariously.
"It's a wrap, I need to take a nap" -Scraps
Thank you for lifting me up from under an algorithmic rock. I didn't know dogs skateboard.
5:34 "This is eeeasyy... this is fun... it's breaking my brain!" - a perfect summary of this channel in ten words :D
For example...lunch. I felt that to my core.
If I was at a point in my life where I was being sent crates of free Lego technics I would definitely consider that I had peaked
She just feels like a really humble and coll grandma who listed of knitting and stuff, makes cool stuff for her grandkids (Scraps)!
A giant box of Lego is my definition of success.
Gods, Scraps is so heckin cute!
I think you should do more stuff with kids. Your philosophy is one that they are unlikely to encounter in school and could have a huge positive impact on their way of thinking as they grow.
A large box full of free Lego technic sounds like an amazing staycation.
I've been riding Onewheel since 2018 and it's the greatest thing ever for dog people! It will take my dog from 100% energy to 0% in maybe 10 minutes. I can never run fast enough to keep up with him so the onewheel allows me to get all his energy out and keep mine haha
I did telerobotics educational outreach with NASA as one of my early jobs. It was lots of fun and having access to thousands of dollars worth of the cool legos was great perk.
Bravo. This is an excellent example of the power of love towards the community. We can solve so many problems for free if we just help each other out. Simone video here shows this.
Testing with the customer during development is key to useful products. Was nice to see you do this with Scraps ❤
"You get some chicken just because you are a cat" Made me laugh so hard :)
SAW THE TITLE AND I'M SOLD INSTANTLY
Reading between the lines here: Energy management is probably the biggest challenge in any project.
Scraps is honestly so gorgeous
The lady that answers the question no else can, or maybe no one else asked. Never ceases to amaze me and put a smile on my face😁
I would die for Scraps, ngl
watching those kids going at it and scraps having fun with it is such a joy to see ♥
There’s something classic about the idea of “skateboards already come with this really simple and effective way to turn and I’m going to invent a whole new way of doing it!”
Okay, the stair organizer blue and orange thing in the background is the coolest piece of furniture I have ever seen tho
It really warmed my heart to see how loving you are towards your animals and taking in their needs! Your videos do an excellent job of showing the ups and downs, and it's cool to see triumphs out of the good and the bad. Thanks for being an awesome person Simone!
Wow, Scraps caught on really quick. Way to go, Scraps. Way to go Simone.
Working on design stuff rn and watching this video is so refreshing. Thanks for thinkin' about stuff and trying stuff Simone, the fact you want to rebuilt it til it works is such a glimmer of light in the darkness haha
I love that you carry Scraps around in a backpack! You’re a great human.
Simone's face makes me smile.
"Oh, but it'll be so much work! Ah, but it'd be so much better!" Ah yes, the sound of scope creep.
Scraps is such a loved dog 🥲
I love Scraps so much
Being surrounded by thousands of lego bricks is my definition of success.
Thanks Simone and team. These kind of videos are like a warm bowl of soup on a cold day.
Deeply envious, but incredible and hope you had a wonderful time!!
2:19 scraps as a seal
Did she shave him? 😂
I think that those kids are gonna go great places in life 😊
Simone's reaction to getting the steering working is just pure brilliant
2:54 "whats your definition of success?" "What in the TikTok is this" 😂😂😂😂
i LOVE how the paddles have paw prints on them
I really hope we're going to see more of Simone with those kids. They were awesome. So inspiring.
And here I was thinking that the hardest part of this project is going to be training Scraps to do the job. Boy, was I wrong! Nice!
Just when i thought Scraps was at the peak of cuteness, scraps steps it up yet again. Now Simone? Yeah she's the bees knees. And adorable as always. These awesome videos are so few and far between but i can't wait for each and every one of them. This was such a great one.
now this is a title to get me interested.
Those kids absolutely stole the show 10/10 work from the casting team
Also, that is the kind of celebration that told me, "yes, this is what I should be doing with my life!"
I’m always amazed by the methods and materials Simone uses to make things. Seeing her struggle a little both with something I’m familiar with gives me confidence. :)
Simone, your videos are an absolute treat! Always heartwarming, always a thrill to watch you figure stuff out. A grin on my face, tears in my eyes and a little bit of envy for all the crazy genius ideas… ❤ love from Germany
Filled with joy watching all you folks making this. My son lured our cat onto a skateboard when she was a kitten, but she never got on board again after that.
As a life long skater , I'm more in awe of the simple perfection that is the modern skateboard truck than I've ever been. thanks for this feeling!! Great job trying!!!!
Lol the “I’m not angry with you” to scraps after being angry at the project is too relatable
New Simone video! Day just got better.
GIrl with the pink hair is gonna graduate MIT in like 3 years probably.
Instant click. This is everything I needed today, thanks as always, Simone, for making wholesome content. I love me some Scraps material.
I'm in my sixties and still addicted to Lego
This was so sweet. You have good patience, and yes sleeping on something often helps the solution present itself
A long time ago i made a really really simple remote controlled car using an arduino, i think i was in 9th grade. and this brings back memories and the only thing i wanna do now is make a much better & robust remote controlled car.
I cant stop thinking about the mechanisms and code and the researching that you have to do, ahhh its all so nice
Thanks a lot Simone ❤
Scraps is such a lucky dog. Lots of love, attention, AND amazing inventions because Simone isn't just the Queen of Shitty Robots, but also the Queen of Silly Inventions.
I love that dog. Please pet for me. Look her in the eye and say "these pets are from Nick" and then scritch her favorite spot.
This is so wholesome ❤❤❤ Scraps is such a good girl and has a simply wonderful human companion!
It's good to see you again! Thanks for reaching out to us. Awesome fun video. Hope to see you again when your busy life allows that. Till then, be sure to take good care of your self.
This video reminds me of some article I read a while back about Lego's work with prosthetics for children. It would be amazing if they developed a prosthetic leg kit for dogs, Ian Davis style, that would retain much of the same functionality.
This video was so cute I cried. The first video of you I ever saw was when you built a chair scraps could get up so sit next to you on your desk and I thought that was the cutest maker video ever and now there's this😭😭😭
I kind of wish they had featured you more in the lego video. You did a lot of the "figuring and testing out" stuff.
Simone + dogs + Lego. Basically all my favourite things in a video.
Just seeing how genuinely happy she was when she figured it out made me smile.
Scraps looked like she was loving the skateboarding experience! I think it is great how well she took to it ❤
You should have had the kids involved more. Let them contribute to the steering design or something more than a single segment where they contributed essentially nothing to the design.
Aw! Yeah! Been there. Super fun project and looks like the kids and Scraps had a good time. Thanks for sharing!
0:52 - You should have refused to elaborate further and leave us wonder
0:05 Keeping a CRT TV in 2024 plus the 3:34 sequence just shows how very modern, hip, and cool you are. Definitely keeping up with Scraps
Modern dogs are so privileged, back in MY day the average dog wouldn’t even KNOW what a skateboard is, much less want an electric one!
