The sound effects are excellent. It is just like watching real life golf. I love when the golf ball makes that sound when sailing through the air. Great.
It cracked me up when you said your dad would only play Golf and Top Gun. When I was a kid, my dad would only play Ring King. He didn't care about any other games. Not Punch-Out or anything else. I could never understand it lol!
I like how early in the video they just totally go in a different direction; what starts off as discussing a golf game on the NES turns into a variation of the "that cloud looks like" game.
My step grandpa (not real one) Ed, had an NES. He was 89 at the time. Owned an NES and several games, including this one. Played it as a kid. One of my earliest gaming memories. Ed's son Eddie I believe bought Ed this stuff. He loved the duck hunting game using a light gun Ed did. Thanks to my Mother and Grandma I received an NES at age 5. Thanks to them, all of them, I was lucky to become a lifelong gamer :)
1000+ dislikers have no imagination. Killed in the process of growing up I assume. _"THIS ONE LOOKS LIKE A GOLF COURSE! YEAH THAT'S A BLOB. ANOTHER BLOB. THIS ONE'S ALSO A BLOB!"_
Used to play golf games with my dad too - may he rest in peace. It was mostly Nes Open. Lee Trevino's Fighting Golf was what got us into the genre. Not bad for a man born 1922 to start playing video games!
have you been smoking CRACK when you made your youtube channel Icon because a banana hugging a carrot with not normal YOU MUST BE ON COCAINE AND ACID AND MUSHROOMS!!!!!!
Jeremy Vandale Have you been eating mushrooms son? That is simply a picture of some fruit and veg, you interpret it how you want lol (yes is the answer tbh haha)
I was quite good at Top Gun myself. I can't remember if it was ported for the NES or SNES console, but I had a Nintendo Console as a kid and I used to hook it up to my younger sister's TV (mine was broken IIRC), because I remember playing Top Gun on my sister's TV. Golf was one of the funniest NES games I ever played, and for the same reason you said James, I enjoyed the sound effects. The sound made when the ball hits the bunker or water hazard still makes me laugh today! XD Thanks for taking me back down memory lane with these games.
Nice episode! Me and my childhood friend always see stuff like this in games. From the walls in the first Tomb Raider to stuff in Mario Bros. We also see stuff outside, like faces in mountains and trees. So this episode felt really natural to me when you guys started looking at the courses shapes. Keep up the great work!
I'm 18 and I love all these types of games. I have a lot of systems from before graphics were killer, and games and online play. I remember growing up on my NES/SNES, and was so amazed when I got my N64, then I got the Dreamcast, All these systems are way outdated today, but they started it all. All I want kids/younger people to do is to experience the world that megaman, old zelda, old sonic, and Mario. All these games shaped our ways today, I just want kids to play them and learn the old ways
LOL, I'm surprised to hear that James' dad was able to land the plane nearly every time in Top Gun. I played it, and I didn't think that anybody in the world could land that damned plane. :D
#1 stage looks like Finland in the world map. Thanks for all nerd videos, it really was a great trip to my childhood! I am looking forward to upcoming videos as well. Keep up the good work!
My dad played the same games golf and top gun2. I actually witness my dad go on a rage on level 3 Top Gun 2. The first curse words I ever learn were on that day as well. :)
course 17 is obviously a horse, and it's singing, the hole is its mouth, and the sandtrap on the left is it's eye almost crying from the sweet sound of it's own music
We grew up with some decent things. I'm 16 too and I still got to play the old sonic games when I was little, plus I had a PS1 with Spyro and Crash Bandicoot. N64 games, Gamecube and PS2 all had classics
yeah I think james covered how to land in one of his other videos I think it had something to do with matching the altitude and speed shown on the screen.
I love these exercises, finding animals/people/objects in weird 2D arrangements of lines and colour. I've always looked for stuff like that, whether in the pattern etched into tiles, or a design on a rug, things like that. Glad to see other people do this with such enthusiasm, lol.
I'm 18, and I grew up on the NES and SNES. I didn't get a N64 until I was 10. My family didn't have the money for new game systems, and to this day I still go back and play my retro games. I have a BS3 and Xbox 360, but I still like my SNES and N64. Today's games might be "better" with the graphics and what not, but if they remade all the old games with toady's quality we would have amazing games with great story lines no one can come up with today

Dark Vader James?! WTF man....
You guys must not have seen Osmosis Jones. Bill Murray's in that too
6:36 *_AMOGUS?!?_*_ __-coincadince-__ I THINK NOT_
This is like, every dad's favorite game.
I doubt this is anybody's favorite game, lol
My dad's favorite game is Castlevania Legacy
My dad's favorite game was The Chessmaster.
I prefer open tornnument
@@DeceasedChannel-r1i He literally said in the video it's his dads favorite game.
Basically watching two guys take a Rorschach test
The way Mike said "Oh yeah sure" at the end, golden.
Craselin sounds like a woman
man, 8 years since this was uploaded. I still remember watching and waiting eagerly for the new episodes, best thing about mondays.
Hopefully they comeback and make new videos after covid. =[
@@devidsulanovs1431😢
I love how their playing of Nintendo Golf turned into them interpreting the holes like interpreting clouds haha.
The sound effects are excellent. It is just like watching real life golf. I love when the golf ball makes that sound when sailing through the air. Great.
And when it goes out of bound it goes Beep beep beep
I'd never seen gameplay of Golf until this video. It is clear that Nintendo based the Wii Sports golf courses on these.
exactly what i was thinking
I love how true Nintendo stays to its roots
Don't forget Mario Golf (N64)
@@GSVRemixMario Golf on Gameboy Color had very similar gameplay to this.
2023. Watching Mike and James is so nostalgic.
Watching this video brings back so many fun memories from my childhood. I would play this game with my grandpa when he was still alive.
My Dad and I played Mario golf on NES together for 10 years, I’ll always remember it
Still play all 3 courses
Nice to see Mike's art on display. Gotta appreciate the Shitpickle cameo too.
This seems like a super relaxing game you could play with your friends. Just hang out and do reverse cloud staring.
This would actually be a good assignment for an art class, haha. Draw over the courses from NES Golf.
why don't james bring his dad over on these episodes that would be interesting know the father of nerd.
He died
@@Mrboomtactix no he didnt
@@YonIon996 he did
Did he or not?
This is honestly a fascinating look into the human capacity for pattern recognition.
It cracked me up when you said your dad would only play Golf and Top Gun. When I was a kid, my dad would only play Ring King. He didn't care about any other games. Not Punch-Out or anything else. I could never understand it lol!
The State of the Nerd mabe it was because the woman would give the boxer a BJ in between rounds ? LOL !!!!
R.I.P. Harold Ramis =(
I can see a hat, I can see a cat, I can see a man with a baseball bat
spookanide Good for you
I can see a dog, I can see a frog, I can see a ladder leaning on a log
Let's all agree, never to be, creative again.
I can see a dive, I can see a Clive, I can see someone's comment who's like 5...
DON'T FUCKING HUG ME, I'M SCARED!
The sound effect makes it seem like the NES is sarcastically impressed with your golf shot.
8:39 its E.T. from the atari game xD xD
Or Bill Murray Golf where it's just Caddyshack
With zombies
As long as it's not caddyshack 2 cause that would be awful!!
I thought all the courses look like belch from earthbound
I’d love to see this game played using the Power Glove!
How can anyone not love Mike Matei? I love the videos when James and Mike are together.
i'd love to see a bill murray golf game, mainly just to see Dan and Harold chase him with the ghostbusters 3 script
9:25 is totally a sloth, guys.
We had a Golf tournament in our dorm, and the winner had -16 in one round. Second place was -14.
6:35 IIIIIII'm a firin' mah lazar!
Fun fact: Wii sports golf uses these exact same courses
The best golf game back in this day was Links on PC
I like how early in the video they just totally go in a different direction; what starts off as discussing a golf game on the NES turns into a variation of the "that cloud looks like" game.
What about Lee Carvallo's Putting Challenge?
Simpsons?
ZeSuperEskimo Yes
THRILLHO
3 wood.
Now enter the force of your swing, I suggest feather touch.... You have selected Power Drive.. Ball is in parking lot..
I like the relaxed feel of this video. You should do more of them :)
Are the Wii Sports golf courses supposed to be based off of these courses?
Don't know its hard to tell because you cant see the whole course like in the wii version.
Yes
Holes not courses, dudes... love the throwbacks
Jack Nicholson Golf
*hits ball* Heeeeeeeere's Johnny!
i want whatever there smoking.
9:17 looks like ET
I spent a large amount of my childhood playing this game its real fun! Hard but honest...
holy shit someones actually making the website XD
Funny enough, my parents' pastor played golf with Alice Cooper a few times.
Not sure if stoned or they're just really really enjoying themselves lmao! :P
Second one dude.

_"THIS ONE LOOKS LIKE A GOLF COURSE! YEAH THAT'S A BLOB. ANOTHER BLOB. THIS ONE'S ALSO A BLOB!"_
It's not their best episode, as they totally forgot to focus on the gameplay.
wow, there really is nothing to say about this game
They gotta be stoned. Guaranteed.
Ya because to have a good conversation and have fun you have to be stoned.
So sad when some people think perfectly normal human behavior = stoned
You dont have to be stoned to have fun but i bet anythinh that james smokes
Used to play golf games with my dad too - may he rest in peace. It was mostly Nes Open. Lee Trevino's Fighting Golf was what got us into the genre. Not bad for a man born 1922 to start playing video games!
Have they been smoking something naughty before this video?
have you been smoking CRACK when you made your youtube channel Icon because a banana hugging a carrot with not normal

yeah they're ripped
I thought the same thing lol
Did any one else notice how bad they are at this game? Every single shot is either out of bounds, water hazard, or bunker.
3:18 i literally can't stop laughing dude

No joke in NES Remix, the GOLF jingle when you unlock the game is literally just the golf ball shot sound effect. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! lol!

Bill Murray Golf is my favorite game on a Nintendo console, right up there with Full House Tournament Fighter
My dad played through Castlevania 2 and Dragon Warrior when I was little. He loved those two games

11:15 before Mike even said he sees Bart Simpson I was thinking the same exact thing
I love this game. I like how you just have to judge how far each club will go.
the only nes sports games I ever got into were double dribble and that black bass fishing game, those games were awesome!
LOL, I'm surprised to hear that James' dad was able to land the plane nearly every time in Top Gun. I played it, and I didn't think that anybody in the world could land that damned plane. :D

You know it's a bad game when you have to sit there and imagine what things look like.lol
My best "Golf" score was a 58.
course 17 is obviously a horse, and it's singing, the hole is its mouth, and the sandtrap on the left is it's eye almost crying from the sweet sound of it's own music
I love how the video is about anything but the golf game. :D
Course 5 is definitely the Contra C
Course #4 looks like a sidekick to me, kicking away from yourself!
And can't forget with Bill Murray Golf, he's playing with Michael Jordan like in Space Jam. Perfect for two player mode.
Golf was one of those games you seen in the VG stores collecting dust.
My dad works for the PGA Tour, and he once got his golf cart hijacked by Bill Murray. No joke, that actually happened!
Nes golf never gets old. It's still as fun and challenging as it was in the 80s
One of the simple things in life is interpreting clouds...but when it's rainy, fire up the NES and interpret Golf
I remember playing this for drinks on a Playchoice 10 in our local pub. Was a great game for that.

So I guess James's dad is like R.O.B. with a different game selection.
Oh man, this game is amazing! I used to play when i was a kid (and i'm not that old, i'm 24) on my Dynavision, a NES "copy". Good times...
Did nobody notice James' Bob Ross T-Shirt? :D
It looks great, I'd like to have one of these aswell!
On the 11th hole, the top of the lake looks like E.T's head. Hole 16 looks like Godzilla's tail. Hole 17 looks like Alf laughing.

Man, I thought that lake looked like the Blob too, when you're throwing him a jellybean. I really didn't expect you to say that as well.
One of my favorite NES games
It's been 3½ years. Has anyone made that Golfbusters game yet?
Lee Trevino's Fighting Golf was fun back in the day...
I grew up in the nineties feeling like I've missed out on all of the games from the eighties. I find that funny.
10:30 It looks like the great mighty poo xD
I love that in the Wii sports golf game the maps are straight from NES Golf
This was made the day i was born :D
I'd say you're not missing out on much with NES games, IMHO. What WAS awesome was the 1980s/early 90s arcade experience!
It's 2017 still waiting for GolfBusters

I used to love that black background with the stars on every cartridge. Idk why lol. It was all magical and shit!
Wow, my dad's 2 favorite games were Golf and Legend of Zelda 2 on NES. Dad's liked golf I guess.
I had that game. My dad would borrow it and play it with his neighbor. I could hear the whoooooo sound coming from next door !
