Superheroes are often as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and sometimes even as revered as gods. But that's when they're using their powers for good. What happens when the heroes go rogue and start abusing their powers? When it's the powerless against the super powerful, the Boys head out on a heroic quest to expose the truth about the Seven and Vought, the multibillion-dollar conglomerate that manages the superheroes and covers up their dirty secrets. Based on the comic book series of the same name. - Кино
Knowing that homelander can control the intensity of his heat visions makes this so much more grim, he WANTED her to feel that
Yep. Could have completely vaporized her in an instant but took his time. Sadistic monster he is.
Makes you think. If he could control his heat vision this entire time, then on the airplane he purposely cut through the terrorist holding the pilot hostage and lasered the plane control dash.

@@BGatts666 Yeah, she did. She gasped while his lasers were boring a hole through her skull. I'd say if she gasped then she was feeling something...at least for a second.
This is the perfect reversal of the "villain holds hero's loved ones hostage" trope.

There are no heroes in that scene
@@zaberfang Well, we do have an anti-hero here. And an anti-villain, if you squint your eyes really hard. And their position is reversed, so yeah- this both excellent reversal and a neat deconstruction of heroic story cliche.

@@michaelthearchangel4646 correct
@@michaelthearchangel4646 "it's a tv show"
If something like that happened in real life I doubt things would have played differently, let's say butcher tried to argue with homelander here, he would have killed butcher and then Madelyn, what happened on the "tv show" was the best scenario possible since in the end, homelander even saved butcher.

"Eye-frying" a woman's face was done in a similar scene from Alan Moore's first superhero work, which is in a 1982 British magazine called "Warrior". A twisted supe like Homelander does it to his secretary just to show another supe that he doesn't care about anything, that he's beyond human.
Moore's work in this magazine is what got the attention of DC Comics, and the rest is history.
The magazine also had "V for Vendetta".

Homelander definitely left teddy in the house 😂😂😂
He didn’t. You find out later he dropped him off in some field or sum shit
@@kayveethegoat1573 And how would he be able to do that when he was busy pulling Butcher to safety? Unless you are saying Homelander is able to clone himself.
And as it turns out, he did not. Teddy teleported himself away from the house. A bit sudden but makes way more sense than Homelander rescuing a baby he hates.
They show in season 3 that the kid could teleport. So Homelander saved Butcher and the baby had to save himself
Teddy had teleportation abilities. Homelander left him to die but he teleported himself away to the middle of nowhere 17 miles from the house. He was picked up by Vought and put in an orphanage for super powered kids we see in season 3
@@auschwism2561 Typical Homelander fashion, letting a baby to die
I think Homelander respects him because he is a part of the few that's not afraid of him.
a part?
No, he just wants to see him suffer from his failure, he did the same at the end of season 3 when his son also chose him instead of Butcher.
I love how butcher is watching this relationship between Homelander and Madelyn like “what the fuck is this….”

He can only tell if you are lying by a raised heartbeat but he has no way of distinguishing between Madeline’s raised heartbeat due to fear of the bomb or her raised heartbeat from lying.
So in other words he can’t tell if she’s lying in this moment because her raised heartbeat is still explained by the bomb.
In this specific circumstance Madeline could have lied and potentially got away with it as her heartbeat will by high even if she’s telling the truth. He can’t tell.
The fear Madelyn must have felt before that especially for her child
This is one of the most unsettling sequence of the entire series.

I will go to my grave believing that Compound V should have been Madelyn's breast milk. That's why she was constantly pumping. That was her mutant power. And why Homelander was so powerful.

In the comics he wouldn't dare do this to James stillwell.

This is actually respectable, bc he outsmarted butcher and pulled a uno reverse card 😂who cares what Edgar respects, the man is a whole hypocrite himself
Butcher going through with it knowing that none of it will do anything really highlights that his obsession with homelander is not about revenge but about his own self destruction and complete disregard for others as well (the baby)
Sidenote: light spoilers: we learn that the baby was found safely far away. Presumably homelander saved them both, but actually the baby has teleportation powers we see him later at the superkid baby store teleporting all over the place, scaring hughie. The caretaker says his name.
read the comics, all the charachters are that bit darker even more effed up than the TV show!
I liked it when Homelander was drinking Madelyn's milk, didn't like it so much when he fried holes right through her eye sockets.
Pretty sure she felt the same way about it
Yeah the 180 turn was definitely out of nowhere, but in a good way for the story
Honestly, that was about the nicest way Homelander could've killed her. I doubt she even had a split second to feel the pain - he instantly fried her brain before it had time to recognize the damage to the optic nerves.

Yes
Later in the show, it is shown that the baby, now grown, has the power to teleport at will. That is most likely how he survived. It is also implied he is Homelander's other son, and he may play a major role later in the series. Maybe a showdown between brother vs brother.

Yeah no he didnt mr headcanon
the most heroic thing homelander has ever done is to save butcher
and that was just to show him his wife is alive and essentially cause him more pain lol
Most likely as a bargaining card. In exchange for letting Butcher live, Becca would have to allow Homelander to visit Ryan
That's because he didn't want him to die
1:29 It's crazy how I had the same exact reaction at the same exact time as Homelander
I Love the "¡SHUT THE F*CK UP!" from Homelander to Madelyn HAHA (1:27)
You can see on his face how he is uncomfortable with taking her life but he still goes through with it because he is more scared of being seen as vulnerable or weak, he’s rather kill people for no reason even if they mean a shred to him before being one upped… sounds like homelander
This scene and the following one caught me completely by surprise and totally sold me on the series!
Another example of the amazing writing from The Boys!
Honestly Butcher lost 100% here. Even at the end he’s like “oh well” with his smirk, but Homelander would survive unfazed and Butcher would be blown up. A rather pathetic death I’d say.
Butcher lost only because his plan failed but actually he won homelanders respect enough for him to save butcher and show him Becca was still alive to also say.. yes I raped her and yes she had my kid and then drop him off at some random restaurant, life spared. The baby teleported when explosion occurred.
He knew he lost, that's why he tried to kill himself. I wouldn't want Homelander to get his hands on me either. I'd kill myself first lol
the acting in this is so perfect
God dam Antony Star just fucking steals the screen in every scene of this show.
Madelyn never strikes me as an actual villain, her entire character is more like a devout capitalist and everything she does is to make sure her company is always on top, of course that doesn’t make her a good person but I had the impression that she knows where the line is. She didn’t approve Homelander killing the ambassador, she never sends the Supes to do jobs that might cause casualties, she wasn’t responsible or even aware of the deliberate creation of terrorist Supes, it’s always Homelander who went overboard and she didn’t question him (but to be fair, who else dares?)
I actually like Madelyn character and I think she didn’t deserve that gruesome end, she just unfortunately got caught between Butcher’s vendetta and Homelander’s disturbing nature
I also like her and never saw her as a villain, for me she was actually just a normal morally grey aged mother amidst this Supe epic avenging havoc and getting a very unfortunate yet somewhat expected ending
I mean, she’s pretty damn complicit. Maybe she wouldn’t do the things the Supes do herself, but that’s also because she simply can’t.
She doesn’t really care about how flight 37 went down, or homelander killing the ambassador, or any of the collateral the supes get up to, she just worries about the business fallout. Homelander weaponizing supe terrorists might’ve shook her for a moment, but she understands that in the end it helps Vought’s bottom line and especially their influence - if she had lived past the same night she learned about it, I’m sure she would’ve fallen right in line.
Plus, I know her weird step-mom-y sexual relationship with Homelander is mainly her ploy to keep him under her control, but you can tell she enjoys parts of it as well. Which is pretty sick minded when you know exactly who homelander is and all the things he’s done. I don’t think even a “morally gray” person would be so comfortable with their relationship.
The actor who portrays homelander does such a good job, I often dream of pummelling him (his character not the actor) - the sign of talent in my eyes KEEP THAT SH!T UP!!! 😂🔥🤘
I really want him to be cast as Wolverine when they inevitably recast the character.

He might have thought that he made Homelander go insane and ‘ruined his life’ by manipulating him into killing stillwell. Or was just putting on a show to scare homelander.
Tbh Homelander makes sense as to why he hates Teddy so much. Babies crying is evolutionarily designed to frustrate you, imagine that with super hearing. Plus seeing a baby getting brought up the way you never did, especially when Homelander was essentially tortured all his childhood, would be upsetting. He just wanted to be a hero in the beginning. Vought could have had a hero genuinely good and like superman. Instead they turned the most powerful Supe on the planet into an unfeeling, cold monster.
