If you have no other access to affordable therapy or wouldn’t otherwise go to therapy, I think that BetterHelp could be beneficial. You might have a better experience than me. Remember! It might take some time to find a therapist you’re compatible with. If you want more info on privacy concerns regarding BetterHelp, here’s a much more thorough discussion by another RUclips creator (Mickey Atkins). ruclips.net/video/6gLSEdbIT6o/видео.html
Thank you for sharing your experiences! Thank you for raising the privacy concern which I have not considered. Also therapist can be really unreliable is such a turn off. I will now reconsider the platform . Thank you again. :)
@@h0mbre74 Aww you're so kind Jeremy, thank you for your kind words! 🌟 It's important to disclose everything I experienced so everyone is more informed in their decision! Sounds like it helped you so that makes me happy 😊 Wish you the best, kind soul!
Thanks for the review. Is your name Tran or is that a pronoun? Anyway, Im in doubt but I seen a few negative reviews and they don't seem to be honest but I'm glad you shared your experience. Thank you Tran.
@@playboyCrew My name is Tran lol but having been in therapy for most of my 20s, I’m quick at knowing which therapists are good for me as opposed to others who clash with my personality. Yes, a part of therapy is learning to communicate, but it’s also learning how to honor yourself in knowing who vibes well/badly with you. Keep this in mind, trust your gut as you go along & i think you’ll be okay! You’ll know when someone isn’t paying attention/listening to you vs someone who actually cares about what you’re saying. Wish you all the best! 🌟
@@LoveYourHealing wow thanks for the advice. So indicators of relatability are important to find in the communication between I and the therapist. That's great. Hey np, may you prosper.
The option to switch therapists so easily is a bit concerning because it allows clients to also dip out without communicating that their needs aren't being met. Part of the work that many clients need to do is to learn to communicate their needs, wants, and pain. Part of the work of a good therapist is to help the client negotiate these needs.
Yes, I hadn’t thought about that before, but I definitely agree! In my view, because many people still need help with that (even not knowing where to begin), expectations can also be set by the therapist in the beginning to communicate when things aren’t going as planned. If clients don’t feel a comforting atmosphere, they might not know how to bring it up or approach the situation at all. Definitely see your side though, thank you for sharing your perspective! 🌟
It's not about switching therapists so easily. It's about feeling a connection. Everyone isn't for everyone. I learned that with 2 therapists and when I got to my third one I was able to relax my shoulders and be vulnerable to her.
Really. Today, I had my first session with BH which I cancelled midway through because my needs, wants, and pain were ignored after I communicated them. I say the switch option is a blessing, allowing you to not to waste time on a therapist you know isn't going to help.
Thanks for making this video! As a therapist, that was way unethical for him to not close with you -- I'm so sorry that happened to you. I'm appreciating how you brought up the good stuff and the hard stuff. I've been considering doing some part time work at BetterHelp and your video gave me a great perspective of how it might feel for clients. Thanks!
Hi Katy! Thank you for watching and I’m glad you found this video helpful! 😊 I hope all goes well for you at BetterHelp 💓 Also thank you for acknowledging how unethical it was of my therapist… that was the apology I needed from him. I appreciate that! 💞
I've been in therapy for 25+ years and have had over a dozen therapists in that time. None have been through online platforms like Betterhelp, but over half the therapists I've seen have either left or died or been fired abruptly. This is pretty common, actually.
i'm seeing a therapist with BH for almost a year, and she's lovely.. she's a person-centred therapist, and she listens, empathizes, shows things from a different perspective (which is key for me because I do tend to become a bit myopic) and she's just a good communicator.. i really do feel like i've made progress with her.. she arrives on time, lets me know way in advance if she's unable to attend.. and she's the first therapist i've matched but i've never felt the need to switch.. maybe it's beginner's luck?
i’m so happy you found a great therapist! those are all the characteristics i would want to find in a therapist. i feel like finding someone you vibe with is a hit or miss though, so you definitely hit the jackpot! 🌟
Yes, others have also recommended this to me! I haven’t tried it because I’ve been happy with my current therapist, but could definitely be more affordable & helpful for others looking to start therapy! Thank you for sharing 🌟
I just exited a video where a guy giving a glowing review casually mentions he's sponsored. Surprise! All the really positive reviews I've seen are advertisements.
haha i haven’t really watched any of the other ones, but certainly interesting to know. just wanted to share my own experience! are you looking to sign up?
Thank you so much for sharing your honest feedback here. I'm a licensed therapist in GA and am considering which one of these online platforms to join. I had no idea that Better Help is selling data from their clients...ugh! That will definitely factor into my decision-making as I continue investigating which one is best for me and my future clients.
@@shotgunmurphy2876 SO sorry for the late reply, I was never notified when you commented! I know of other online therapy services, but I've never used them before. You can look into TalkSpace (which is the other major subscription-based one) & Open Path Collective (cheap per-session rates). Hope you find what you're looking for! 🌟
What you said about therapists not empathizing was really validating. I have had really great in person therapy before, so I was really surprised when I was matched with someone on Betterhelp who really did not empathize with me-- to the point I started thinking I must be a horrible person because I just wouldn't expect it from a certified therapist,. She put a lot of personal opinions into things, started really pushing me to go on medication... it was weird. It was nice to know I was not alone in this because the therapist( and a lot of quora posts) said things always get worse before they get better, that perhaps I could not handle therapy at this juncture in my life, and that my previous therapists had not been trained well. It is really hard when you are seeking help and getting these kinds of confusing messages! So thank you for sharing your experiences!
Hi Katie, I'm SO sorry to hear about your experience. That is seriously so frustrating, especially when you are choosing to confide in someone who is SUPPOSED to have the necessary qualities of a good therapist (good listening/communication skills, empathy, compassion, etc.) Thank you for sharing your thoughts - you are definitely not alone. Therapy is AMAZING and can help in so many ways! BUT I think there are also tons of SKETCHY therapists out there... With that being said, I think it's important to remember that if your therapist doesn't comfort you, listen to you, help you grow/make you better in any way, it's a clear sign to switch. You just might not be compatible. There are sooo many GREAT therapists out there who are waiting for you to find them 😊 Thank YOU for watching & I'm sending you healing & empowering vibes as you (hopefully) continue with therapy! 💞
I had a therapist who wouldn’t really listen years ago (she was a child therapist), not on betterhelp though. It wasn’t nearly as bad as what you described though, I’m so sorry. That’s not okay and I don’t honestly think they should stay in that profession.
@@B-.-.. I'm so sorry to hear that happened to you. 😥 It really sucks when you need someone to talk to & they don't have the courtesy/empathy to listen (especially when it's their job). Unfortunately, there are therapists like that online and in-person, & makes it harder to find someone to really connect with. I hope you found someone else to talk to and wish you all the best! 🌟
@@LoveYourHealing Yeah your resopnse is really helpful and did help me and make me happy(since i'm going through tough times now). i've just watched a lot of your videos and discovered how sweet your soul is and i felt the energy So i think your channel will grow soon just keep helping people like me by your experiences and advice . I am a therapist on BH right now. I hear similar testimonies from my clients who switched therapists to me. SMH. That stuff is not okay (no shows, not listening, being late, etc.). Good video.
Definitely not okay! I realize these things are common (unfortunately) now that others are sharing their experiences. Sounds like you are much more aware & empathetic, which is much needed on the platform. Thank you so much for watching! 😊
@@clumsydasmirf Sorry for the late reply! I was never notified when you commented. Fake empathetic is the actual worst. But hmm can I ask why it only lasted 15 min? I hope you at least switched therapists & found someone you like now!
Thank you for this honest review. I am considering trying it out and may give it shot. I also appreciate that you mention not every therapist is great either. I previously had a therapist IRL before the pandemic who disappeared on me... I was starting to get sick of her anyway, so it was sort of convenient, but after she disappeared I stopped doing therapy altogether. BH might be worth checking out because I'm always skeptical I can find a therapist in my area that will also mesh well with and also take my insurance and also have a reasonable co-pay. BH doesn't sound perfect, but it sounds like there's a much larger pool to choose from and it's easy to change therapists, etc, so that might help me out
I’m so sorry to hear your therapist IRL disappeared on you! No one should be doing that, especially in the mental health field! Yeah, with BetterHelp at least you can find & change therapists quickly if you don’t like the one you’re with. It shouldn’t hurt to give it a try 😊 Thank you for stopping by & watching! I wish you luck as you continue your journey with therapy 💗
Nice and unbiased review. I didn't give them my full data, you can opt out of doing it by just closing the information request after signing up. Shady that it makes it look like it's required though.
Thank you for sharing ☺ I'm sure not many others know that you can close that info request screen, myself included! Thank you for the comment and for stopping by!
Thank you for making this video. I am a counsellor, life coach and hypnotherapist in the UK, and have an appointment with BetterHelp next week as a potential practitioner on their platform. I have a few questions for them first before I make a decision, but in the interim I am doing some online research and your video really helped. I hope you have now found a therapist who is helping you. Best wishes, James.
Hi James, I’m so glad you found this video helpful! 🌟 I haven’t been in talk therapy since I quit BetterHelp, but will be searching soon. Thank you for watching & I hope all goes well with you at BetterHelp! 😊
"life coach" You guys are basically the MLM of motivational speakers. What education, not degree wise, do you have? Who did you study? What have you read? What papers have you reviewed? Have you published anything?
@@babyydollloo That's not degradation, those are valid questions. Would you just randomly trust your car to some guy that says they can fix it for 50 bucks without some proof of their capabilities?
I had an extremely good experience with Better Help! My Therapist was absolutely perfect for me. She listened to me, and was asked probing questions. I won't tell her name, but she made a huge difference with me when I needed it the most. I'd go back to her when I need it.
Thank you for this unbiased review. I'm currently in the process of signing up for Better Help because online therapy is the only option for me at the moment. I am really adamant about starting therapy and so this review really helped me to slow down a bit and remember why I'm seeking help. I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad experience and I really hope that isn't the case for me as a first-timer, but only time will tell.
I know my friend's therapist left that app as well and decided to open their own private practice. that may be the case for yours if you still wanted to seek the same therapist out. my friend did mention their prices had increased but since she was technically a client beforehand they gave her the same price she paid at BH. Not always the case but putting it out there :) best of luck to everyone seeking therapy, i use therapy through a recommendation from a friend and it has helped me soo much
Ohhh yes, I’ve heard other therapists leaving the platform as well to start their own practice! I’m glad your friend can continue therapy with someone she trusts 😊 Thank you for the helpful information! Therapy has helped me so much over the years & it truly makes me super happy when others find it just as helpful too! 🥰 Thank you for watching! 💕

Thanks for your review. I was concerned about changing therapist if they are not a good fit. I have been to a couple different ones in the past that were dismissive and unhelpful. I agree with you ,and you don't need to be in sessions a whole monthh to know if they are just sitting with you a whole visit and not listening, or worse talking down to you for having the problem in the first place. Being able to choose my doctor has become a really important part of my healthcare. Cost is also a big concern, thanks for the heads up about the possible discounted rates. Thank you and be well.
I've been in therapy on BH with an amazing therapist for nearly two years.. Had to stop due to monetary reasons, and I was actually thinking about using their services again, as I never ever had a problem with them, and the customer service has always been efficient.. Makes me think that maybe I had beginner's luck?
After I posted this video, I also thought I just had beginner’s luck! But I remembered the process was much harder for me when trying to find in-person therapists. Now that we know what we want in a therapist, it’ll be much easier to weed out the ones we aren’t compatible with. Thanks for stopping by & I wish you luck on continuing your journey with therapy! 🥰
Just started BH 3 weeks ago and haven't had a session due to time difference and confusions around it. The online chat answers are taking days so I'll definitely sign off. Overall I'm not very happy with the app, it's privacy, billing conditions and chancing to find good therapist while my money slipping away.
I'm so sorry to hear about your experience Barbora! That sounds like a really annoying experience. That happened to me towards the end when my therapist kept pushing out our sessions. I contacted BetterHelp's customer service each time and they'd always extend my subscription period so I wasn't paying for missed time. I'd switch therapists sooner than later if their communication isn't great (there are always better therapists out there), but I definitely understand your frustration if you don't wanna try again right now. Maybe another platform might work better, like TalkSpace? I will be trying some new platforms soon, so I'm hoping they're a little better. Wish you the best! 💗
You seem like a therapist yourself so whatever you are doing seems to have put you in a better place. Hope you are doing well and thanks for sharing your experience. I’ve had problems with finding therapists IRL; either they don’t care enough or talk besides just listening for 45 minutes to an hour, or they just keep looking at their watches, or they just don’t seem available. For someone without insurance currently I’ve been paying a PREMIUM to see this therapist IRL for the last month and a half. Seeing how nonchalant they seem while I am asking for help hasn’t exactly been encouraging. The thing that has helped me most is just talking my thoughts and experiences out loud which I could do with a good friend. I just don’t feel a connection and at $190 per week I want to look into alternatives like better help. The therapist I’m seeing now is well studied and accomplished but seems distracted and absent to the degree that makes the connection very week. He himself said on our first sessions that you should take a month to see if the therapist is right. This week he went out of the country for over 2 weeks which doesn’t bode well for me as a new client. Once he gets back I feel I’ll be paying to retread the same topics I’ve spent the last month telling him about and hardly moving forward. I’m not sure what I will do you and I’ve heard mixed things about BetterHelp…I might give it a shot. Maybe it’s a better fit for me and one less place to drive.
That is so kind for you to say, thank you so much! I have definitely been through my fair share of therapy haha. I’ve also had similar experiences to what you’re going through now & I’m sorry that you are. It’s important to find someone who’s attentive, listens, interacts with you in the way you need, especially when you’re spilling your feelings out. I’ve realized that it usually doesn’t take one month to figure out whether someone’s good for you… you’ll usually have a gut feeling pretty early on. I can’t say if BetterHelp is the best solution for you, but it did help me switch therapists easily instead of stressing out to find someone else to go to IRL. It definitely doesn’t hurt to try! 🥰 Thank you so much for stopping by & sharing YOUR experience! It could definitely be a process to find a good therapist in the beginning, but once you do… it’ll all be well worth it. 💗 I wish you the best of luck as you continue on your journey with therapy & self-healing! 🌟
@@LoveYourHealing tldr: Thank you. I think that bit about intuition is spot on. I've seen therapists on and off throughout my life and generally found I usually felt the same way about a therapist on day 1 as I did a month later. Part I wrote before adding tldr above it all: Not out of any of the nearly dozen therapists I've seen did I connect with any of them more after time. I used to find a therapist office and look up their therapists online and then try therapists out until I found one that clicked with me. Now in the city I'm currently living in it seems that the pandemic has flooded the offices and barely anyone has openings! Even with my current therapist (when he's not out of the country) we have been flying be each week finding a time he is available and making it work with my vary hectic and unpredictable schedule.
@@exzisd Yes! I definitely think your intuition gets stronger the more you tune into it. 🤍 I also totally get that frustration! When my depression was at its peak, I was struggling to find therapists who took new clients for 3-4 months at a time. Desperately needing help &/or already having a hectic schedule makes everything MUCH harder. Since you’ve been in therapy for a longer time, I think a service like BetterHelp would be helpful. To just switch as soon as you get that “meh” feeling with someone 😂 I’m hoping the process will be more efficient for you 💗 Someone else in my comments also recommended Open Path Collective! I don’t know much about it, but it sounds affordable as well 😊
Good thorough review from your personal experiences...plural. So sad your next therapist left without saying anything, which is the last thing you would want a therapist to do. And no-shows... wow. Really appreciate your feedback to be prepared for what can happen.
Thank you so much for your kind comment! 🌟 It was definitely not a pleasant end experience but I’d be willing to give it another try haha. Have you started BH?
Aww Marlon, I definitely believe the desire to help is at the core of all of us. It’s what helps us stay connected with each other & i’m glad this video found you! Thank you for your kind comment & for watching ☺️ Wishing you the best! 🌟
I had a stroke and a blood clot 17 months ago and wasn't too sure whether or not to get better help. I have doubted myself even before I had the stroke so better help will be good for me.

This was super informative im in the midst of trying these apps for the first time rather than finding one that’s local.. loved your personality btw lol
aww thank you Ryan!! ☺️ i’m so glad you found this video helpful! there are so many options out there, it could get real overwhelming. Hope BH works out for you! Wish the best for ya! 🌟
@@araceliscastillo3532 SO sorry for the late reply, Aracelis! I wasn't notified when you commented. But have you tried calling your health insurance asking for in-network counselors/therapists in your local area?
The one thing that I struggle with as a Better Help provider is the monthly fees. A lot of people need help but the cost is prohibitively expensive for a lot of clients. I had clients quit because they couldn’t afford it which sucks :(
I’m so sorry to hear this 😔 The world can be a really lonely place. But coming from someone who has been there for most of my 20s, I want to say there is a light at the end of the tunnel (no matter how dim it seems right now). I wish you all the best & sending you healing vibes 💞
When I started BH my first therapist sucked. Idk what she was even doing there tbh. After I switched I had a therapist who is better in every way and definitely wants to help (and acts like it.) Idk how to feel about the privacy concerns really, yeah that sucks especially with mental health but I'm not sure that I truly feel its a dealbreaker.
I have a therapist through BetterHelp. It took 3 tries to find someone in my state, but I like her a lot. I am looking forward to my betterhelp journey.
It honestly just takes some time in the beginning to find someone you vibe well with. I’m so happy you found a therapist you like and I am excited for your healing journey! 🥰 Best of luck to you and thank you for watching! ⭐️
I also used Better Help for the 1st time in 2020 due to the pandemic and had a very similar experience. I appreciate that all therapist matching is a bit hit and miss but I found this particularly bad. Also I'm in the UK and my therapist was based in thr US which really affected WHEN I could have the session.
thank you for sharing your experience! I think it can feel bad, but the truth is, the hit or miss with matching with a therapist can also be the case with in-person therapy! I also can see how that would be difficult to get a therapy session during your time- are you still with BetterHelp if you don’t mind me asking?
Tried a 1st group session, the therapist no showed. Can't book another one without being charged. Which pisses me off because they are saying respect other peoples time they send you several reminders just for you to sit there for 45 min waiting for the therapist.
I’m sorry to hear of your experience. I’d be super annoyed & pissed too. They do send a ton of reminders though & it’s super unprofessional/annoying for a no-show. Whenever something like that happened to me (even though it’s not helpful after the fact & it didn’t happen often), I contacted customer service and they usually extended my subscription. I hope you’re able to sort things out!
@@LoveYourHealing That's not just unprofessional, it's what they paid for. Not getting what you paid for is called a scam. Even if there have been some positive experiences from others, the fact that you don't get reimbursed for what you paid for that you didn't receive is basically illegal. The person who doesn't show should be fired or fined, unless they had legit reason, like sudden emergency and even in that case, Better help should not charge for a session that flat out doesn't happen.
@@vixxcelacea2778 i certainly agree with you that the therapist should be fined & in that case, BH should automatically extend your subscription at no charge. i can only speak from my experience to help others if the same thing happens to them, but i do not work for BH & cannot implement these things. but i do agree with you.
Sounds pretty good. Im a truck driver always on the road and would struggle going in person, though I'd prefer. But even local therapists charge like $150-$220/session. I'm interested on EMDR, do they have EMDR therapists on better help? Also, was your experience with your therapist worth it? Did you experience the change/freedom you were looking for. Really skeptical on where to put my money because I've even been through a few virtual sessions with local therapists and even then it was hard to find one that I connected with well
i’m so sorry for the late response! after a quick search, it looks like there are therapists who specialize in EMDR on the app. the initial match is pretty random though, the engine tries to do its best to match you with someone based off your responses. i wonder if it’d be easier to contact BH’s customer service to match you with someone specifically. As for my own experience, it was definitely worth it. My therapist helped me through a lot, in processing my emotions, letting me express myself & taught me a ton about communicating with him/others/myself. i learned a lot & i would recommend to anyone. i would recommend BH because it is the cheapest therapy platform online. it’s easy to cancel your subscription if you don’t like it. But i’d encourage you to take a couple months at least, switch therapists right away if the vibe doesn’t seem right to you, but just know it takes some time 💞 wish you the best though! 🌟
Thank you so much 😊 That’s awesome of you to take the first step - I think that’s the hardest part! I wish you well on your healing journey & hope you find an amazing therapist you connect with 💗
Yeah, so the reason your therapist left is because he's a good therapist, and good therapists can find better jobs elsewhere. Betterhelp cares way more about profits than about people. Legally, he's not allowed to tell you he was unhappy at the company, but I'd put money on it that he had a better job offer.
Very important question to me, when you were choosing a BT therapiest at signing up, what options you chose on type/age/gender..etc of person you want to talk with? this will help me to not waste my time &money on bad therapy
Hi Scarlet! The options for therapist preference are: male therapist; female therapist; Christian-based therapy; Therapist from the LGBTQ+ community; Older therapist (45+); Non-religious therapist; Therapist of color. It depends on therapist availability. For me, I chose female, older, non-religious, therapist of color. i got all, but he was a male. You are able to switch easily though if you don’t like your therapist. Hope this helps!
I'm NOT a fan! If you want TALK therapy, you're only going to get 30 min sessions, because they push you to type at people instead. Given we're in the era of data breaches and theft, no way am I typing my personal problems out! They make you pay a lump sum every month, it's not per session, so if you can't get an appointment in a slot that works for you because of illness or vacation, you loose that money. They also make it really hard to cancel and calling a customer service rep leads you to people who only get your info and you have to deal with them via email only. It was TERRIBLE. Never, ever, ever again! It turned out it's actually cheaper to see someone locally without insurance.
I’m sorry to hear that this was your experience. When I’ve tried contacting customer service, they’ve always replied back really quickly & even extended my subscription periods whenever I couldn’t schedule an appointment (when i asked). Yes, when you use the text therapy, I will agree that it takes forever to type & there is always a time limit on the sessions, so a video or phone session would be much faster. Thank you for sharing your experience & I’m glad you were able to find someone locally that works better for you! ⭐️
yes, as with any subscription-based program (gym, fitness tracker, etc), you are charged for the subscription. but you’re not refunded the amount if you don’t use it. when i’ve had trouble getting a session/scheduling one in two weeks’ time, i always contacted customer service & they were really accommodating in extending my subscription for me.
I completely agree! It was really stressful for me to find help when I was at the peak of my depression. I'm trying to find more cost-effective or free resources to help others with mental health through my channel. Do you do anything else for yourself that helps, at least a little bit? Maybe journaling or picking up any hobbies?
Hi. So if your therapist is booked for several weeks out as you stated, do you still have to pay for the time (unused weeks) while you wait for your next schedule? Thanks
Hi there! Anytime I was waiting a long time for my next appt, I emailed BH customer service & told them about my situation. You’re paying for 4 weeks at a time, so if you’re waiting a while, they would extend your subscription period so you’re not paying multiple times. If that throws you off, I suggest finding another therapist with more open availability! In my case, I didn’t mind waiting a month for this specific therapist. Hope this helps!
i honestly haven’t found a therapy app that is as cost effective as BH :( it’s ridiculous how expensive everything is! I haven’t tried to go back to in-person therapy yet, but I am feeling great now. grateful for this time but for sure still researching options 🥰 hope you are well in your journey! ❤️
Yes, that’s true. I understand how frustrating that is… I went through it all. But even when you’re trying to find a therapist you connect well with, you’re still bringing up the things you want to talk about, with the person you’re talking to. It’s providing an outlet for you to talk about whatever’s on your mind to a trained professional. You’d do the same with an in-person therapist. But I wish you well with your healing journey, no matter what you choose! 🌟
Would you share with us the name of the therapist that you thought was the best one you ever had? I'm still looking for a really good therapist. Thank you
Well I'm sure you're not the only one out there who feels this haha but I'm glad you have an amazing therapist! 🌟 Sometimes it feels like they're hard to come by!
Hey Zaman, I’ve only really used BetterHelp & in-person therapy so I don’t have much experience with other online therapy platforms! A couple of my subscribers have mentioned trying “Open Path Collective” charging about $30-$60 per session. TalkSpace prices were too high for me, but that’s the other well-known online therapy platform. Hope this helps!
I definitely knew she wasn't the right therapist for me very early on! That was a weird experience, but I can say I've also had in-person therapists who didn't know how to empathize with me. Have you had similar experiences or are you just looking into therapy services now?
I'm sorry to hear that! It's a longer process in the beginning. You might have to switch therapists more times until you find someone you connect well with. Were you able to find a therapist you like?
I found this channel through the Meidas Touch program. It seems like you may have found some happiness and peace of mind. I hit like and subscribed. I want to show this to my sister, who is in desperate need of a therapist. She literally doesn't know how to be happy. She's constantly worried about others needs. She helps everyone but herself. If things seem to be going well for a day, she'll "find' something to worry about. I don't know what the answer is. Obviously money is the key issue in everyone's life. I guess the best thing to do is start at the beginning and see where it takes her. Ill tell her about this and see what happens i guess. I just want her to find some real affordable help, to gain some of the ever elusive inner peace that we all strive for
Paul, thank you so much for sharing 💞 your comment shows how much you truly care for your sister. i’m still learning everyday, but i’ve found that taking the first step & committing to change is the hardest part of the healing journey. inner peace comes when we finally stand up for ourselves & love ourselves (even more than we do others). i wish the best for you & your sister & i hope BH works well for her if she decides to give it a try 😊 glad to have you here, kind soul! 🌟
Oh for sure, I feel you! Lol I hope they accept insurance in the future for more accessibility… but to this day, they still don’t take insurance. With a google search, it looks like TalkSpace does! So you can look into their pricing to see if it’s cheaper 😊 Wish you all the best! 🌟
I definitely don’t blame him! I felt I would’ve wanted to say thank you & have a proper goodbye. But I understand that’s definitely not possible in all cases!
Yup I feel that… I was pretty upset & that’s why I stopped therapy! I started BetterHelp again last year and found a great therapist though. Definitely a hit or miss, but overall is cheaper than any other therapist I’ve seen even with my insurance coverage 😕
"Trusting your gut " is bad advice. If youre at better help its probably because your gut hasn't guided you well up to this point. Even outside of betterhelp 1 month is standard for psychological help. Afterall, treatments are not instantaneous.
Hi Andres, I can see your perspective and I respect that. Yes, of course treatments can vary on a case-to-case basis. My own experience has taught me that in those times where I've stayed (more than 1-2 months) when my therapist wasn't listening to me or their approach to therapy was not compatible with mine, that those waiting moments have done me more harm than good. Especially when you're new to therapy, I think it's more important to feel comfortable with whom you're opening up to. & If you have a "bad gut feeling," maybe you're justified in feeling what you're feeling.
I'm glad you found this video helpful! That's alright... it's definitely not for everyone. But I do hope you find what you're looking for in other therapy services or have someone you can talk to! Wishing you the best 🌟
Hahah I actually used to say this too. The most important thing I found is that when my friends vented to me, I was never in a good mental space to take it all in. I was going through a lot of my own stuff too. Makes me think how hard it might be for them when it was the other way around. Talking about the harder, unprocessed parts of your life w someone who’s professionally trained (& also an unbiased third party) is super helpful compared to venting to a friend/family member. Other than that, if you just need good convo, friends are a great way to go. Sounds like you have close people you’re comfortable talking to & that’s all that matters 😊
@@LoveYourHealing wow you know what that’s a good solid reasonable point I could for sure see the benefit of doing so now especially with out you laid out that point ( when it comes to venting to a friend they have lives of there own) Also good to get a new perspective
@@AChairInspace Yes exactly! Haha just sharing my own perspective & I’m glad you were open to hearing it. Thank you 🌟 Wish you all the best, kind stranger! 😊
I came to the conclusion long ago that psychiatry is bullshit. A pseudoscience if you will. I've found that meditation and yoga work the best. Definitely got me out of my stupor and changed my whole perception. The only thing I retain is anxiety, but that's a good thing. It gives me something to overcome.
I understand there are cons to it, but therapy can be helpful for those who need someone to talk to. psychiatry is another story in knowing what medications should be prescribed. but i believe meditation & yoga can help on their own as well. with that being said, sometimes one thing helps a person more than another would. everyone is so different. so i’m really glad that with all the options, you’ve found what works best for you & i hope you continue to make a lot of progress! 🌟
I completely understand your concerns. I felt the same when considering therapy again, not wanting to go through it all again. It was very discouraging, but I’ve found a great therapist I’m currently seeing now! I’d say we’re always needing to take a chance on someone, even when finding in-person therapists. We won’t know who will be good at first glance. For me personally, I knew I needed help & not being in therapy wasn’t an option for me. Nevertheless, thank you for watching & I wish you the best!
Just talk to jesus christ. You are trying to obtain what he does. You need proper guidance. Follow the word of god. Jesus christ never failed anyone how should he fail you now?
I was going to in person therapy from age 14-18. Finally found a therapist at 18 that I adored, but unfortunately the older I got the more common it was for them to just leave or keep canceling on me and then leave and Id get a call saying I had to wait a month for a new therapist. She left too :( and I stopped going. I have my first session scheduled next week with better help and so far my therapist seems kind and I’m so excited! I’d much rather pay out of pocket for something that I feel is worth it than let insurance cover useless scheduling 🥲 unfortunately I live in a really rural area and GOOD therapists are hard to find affordably out here, so I finally caved and started better help!
I read all of the information on TOS and the Privacy policy before committing and personally? I don’t mind 😂 They keep the nitty gritty stuff PRIVATE and I personally feel anything you do online, you risk basic info being sold around for marketing. I do however understand how people would absolutely not be okay with that! I’m hopeful for this experience, if it doesn’t work out I’m afraid I’d have to go back to in person therapy but I want to give my mental health a fighting chance again. Thanks for this review so much!!
Ugh I’m so sorry, it’s really frustrating when you find a therapist you love & then the visits become very inconsistent due to something out of your control 🥺 I’m so excited for you to start BH! I do feel like it’s really convenient since you can do therapy at home 🥰 But remember to switch therapists as soon as you decide they’re not the right fit for you! Sounds like you’ve had a lot of experience with therapists too, so that’ll definitely help 😊
@@kiwizona4104 Hahah I definitely felt the same way! I didn’t mind so much & personally, I was lucky enough to find the best therapist I’d ever had on there. There are amazing ones on there & because it’s so easy to switch, I hope you won’t have such a hard time finding someone you love! I’ll work to manifest it for you too 🥰 Thank you so much for your comment & for watching! I wish you all the best as you continue with therapy! ⭐️
If you have no other access to affordable therapy or wouldn’t otherwise go to therapy, I think that BetterHelp could be beneficial. You might have a better experience than me. Remember!
That happens all the time.
It's not about switching therapists so easily. It's about feeling a connection. Everyone isn't for everyone. I learned that with 2 therapists and when I got to my third one I was able to relax my shoulders and be vulnerable to her.
I’m sure they send a follow up survey 😫
😊 I hope all goes well for you at BetterHelp 💓
Also thank you for acknowledging how unethical it was of my therapist… that was the apology I needed from him. I appreciate that! 💞
ditto!
As a therapist, I recommend people check out Open Path Collective to find therapists offering individual therapy between $30-60 a session.
Yes, others have also recommended this to me! I haven’t tried it because I’ve been happy with my current therapist, but could definitely be more affordable & helpful for others looking to start therapy! Thank you for sharing 🌟
Thanks so much I will save that information,Do you know if they have spanish therapists ?
I just exited a video where a guy giving a glowing review casually mentions he's sponsored.
Surprise! All the really positive reviews I've seen are advertisements.
Not mine! It is a completely legit!!!!!
haha i haven’t really watched any of the other ones, but certainly interesting to know. just wanted to share my own experience! are you looking to sign up?
Thank you so much for sharing your honest feedback here. I'm a licensed therapist in GA and am considering which one of these online platforms to join. I had no idea that Better Help is selling data from their clients...ugh! That will definitely factor into my decision-making as I continue investigating which one is best for me and my future clients.
I know, I felt the same way! Thank you so much for watching & I wish you the best with your big decision! 😊⭐️
If you find a better one, can you tag me in what it's called so I can try it I was wanting to do better help, but it definitely sounds shady
That is seriously so frustrating, especially when you are choosing to confide in someone who is SUPPOSED to have the necessary qualities of a good therapist (good listening/communication skills, empathy, compassion, etc.)
Thank you for sharing your thoughts - you are definitely not alone.

Fake empathetic is the actual worst. But hmm can I ask why it only lasted 15 min? I hope you at least switched therapists & found someone you like now!
@@LoveYourHealing yes I found someone amazing. No complaints

It shouldn’t hurt to give it a try 😊

Thank you so much for stopping by & sharing YOUR experience!
Part I wrote before adding tldr above it all:
Not out of any of the nearly dozen therapists I've seen did I connect with any of them more after time.

Idk how to feel about the privacy concerns really, yeah that sucks especially with mental health but I'm not sure that I truly feel its a dealbreaker.
Fantastic video thanks so much for this!!!!!!
I'm so glad you found this video helpful! All the best to you 🤩
Tried a 1st group session, the therapist no showed.
@@vixxcelacea2778 i certainly agree with you that the therapist should be fined & in that case, BH should automatically extend your subscription at no charge. i can only speak from my experience to help others if the same thing happens to them, but i do not work for BH & cannot implement these things. but i do agree with you.
in therapy, continuity is king.
I definitely agree! 🌟
Thank you for watching 😊
Hello. You mentioned about a student discount. How can you get one? I am a student in need of therapy without job. Thank you!
I want to ask, is it when you first pay for better help, do they take the money after 4 weeks or immediately
hi there! i believe they take the money immediately & will then charge you every 4 weeks after that
Subscribed to see her pretty face to start my morning I hope my wife never reads this 😂❤
Very helpful video. Thank you!
I’m so glad you found the video helpful 💞 Thank you so much for watching! 🥰
Great review, well spoken 🎉
Thank you so much for watching and for the kind words, Amber! All the best to you! 🥰
This is a great review. I just signed up but haven't seen anyone yet
Thank you so much 😊 That’s awesome of you to take the first step - I think that’s the hardest part! I wish you well on your healing journey & hope you find an amazing therapist you connect with 💗
This was helpful thank you
Glad you found it helpful! Thank you for watching! ☺🌟
Great review!
Thank you so much 😊🌟 I appreciate you watching!
Yeah, so the reason your therapist left is because he's a good therapist, and good therapists can find better jobs elsewhere. Betterhelp cares way more about profits than about people. Legally, he's not allowed to tell you he was unhappy at the company, but I'd put money on it that he had a better job offer.
yeah probably so. i’m just speaking from my personal experience, not from my therapist’s perspective.
@@LoveYourHealing Thank you! Yes helped so much
Great video, 👏 👏
Thank you so much for your kind comment & for watching! 🌟🥰 Are you thinking of giving BH a try?
I felt that "Fuck that" 😀
Sometimes you gotta just be like “fuck that” & get outta there 😂 Haha thank you for watching! 🌟
Be careful they charge you even if you don’t have a session.
yes, as with any subscription-based program (gym, fitness tracker, etc), you are charged for the subscription. but you’re not refunded the amount if you don’t use it.
when i’ve had trouble getting a session/scheduling one in two weeks’ time, i always contacted customer service & they were really accommodating in extending my subscription for me.
Still really sucks we can't find that kind of help for free, depression sucks
I completely agree! It was really stressful for me to find help when I was at the peak of my depression. I'm trying to find more cost-effective or free resources to help others with mental health through my channel.
Do you do anything else for yourself that helps, at least a little bit? Maybe journaling or picking up any hobbies?
True to me is all a business money, they don't care about people mental health anyway
Did you ever find an app you like? In person therapy? How are you feeling overall? ☺️
i honestly haven’t found a therapy app that is as cost effective as BH :( it’s ridiculous how expensive everything is! I haven’t tried to go back to in-person therapy yet, but I am feeling great now. grateful for this time but for sure still researching options 🥰 hope you are well in your journey! ❤️
Does it mean that I need to keep paying till find the perfect therapist? Wow.
Great review
Thank you & thanks so much for watching! 😊
Would you share with us the name of the therapist that you thought was the best one you ever had? I'm still looking for a really good therapist. Thank you
Hi Wanda! That therapist’s name is Jorge Abreu. Looks like he’s on other online platforms, so I will likely schedule with him sometime soon! 💞
I'm lucky i have such an amazing therapist. I'm inlove. Too bad i can't tell her
Well I'm sure you're not the only one out there who feels this haha but I'm glad you have an amazing therapist! 🌟 Sometimes it feels like they're hard to come by!
good review
Thank you so much! I’m glad you found this video helpful! 🌟
Love you Tran ❤️❤️❤️
Love you mama! ❤️ Thank you for watching 💞
what are some good alternatives?
Hey Zaman, I’ve only really used BetterHelp & in-person therapy so I don’t have much experience with other online therapy platforms! A couple of my subscribers have mentioned trying “Open Path Collective” charging about $30-$60 per session. TalkSpace prices were too high for me, but that’s the other well-known online therapy platform. Hope this helps!
"my therapist didn't sympathise with me" ...Hmmmm
I definitely knew she wasn't the right therapist for me very early on! That was a weird experience, but I can say I've also had in-person therapists who didn't know how to empathize with me.
Have you had similar experiences or are you just looking into therapy services now?
Did you find a better alternative???
Heeeey giiiiiirl you looook soooo fiiiine! God damn you gorgeous! :-D
Haha thank you! & Thanks for watching 😊🌟
I had 2 one worse than another one.
They don’t accept health insurance? WTF ✌🏾
Oh for sure, I feel you! Lol I hope they accept insurance in the future for more accessibility… but to this day, they still don’t take insurance. With a google search, it looks like TalkSpace does! So you can look into their pricing to see if it’s cheaper 😊 Wish you all the best! 🌟
If the "best" therapist left betterhelp because he fell seriously ill, you can't blame him, though.
I definitely don’t blame him! I felt I would’ve wanted to say thank you & have a proper goodbye. But I understand that’s definitely not possible in all cases!
How heck no no shows when your paying so much …f thatttt

Really good info, thank you. After watching I’ve decided I’m not going to sign up👍
I'm glad you found this video helpful! That's alright... it's definitely not for everyone. But I do hope you find what you're looking for in other therapy services or have someone you can talk to! Wishing you the best 🌟

You trying to justice Betterhelp *illegally* selling your private data - as they got fined for it twice - is kinda irresponsible...
Man idk therapy just sounds like a load of crap 💩
Sounds like a good friend is just as good
Hahah I actually used to say this too.
@@LoveYourHealing wow you know what that’s a good solid reasonable point I could for sure see the benefit of doing so now especially with out you laid out that point ( when it comes to venting to a friend they have lives of there own)
Also good to get a new perspective
😍🔥
Thank you so much for watching! ☺️💕
Ok, and i end up white a magican, and not a therapist
.not Worth this money
I completely understand your concerns. I felt the same when considering therapy again, not wanting to go through it all again. It was very discouraging, but I’ve found a great therapist I’m currently seeing now!
I’d say we’re always needing to take a chance on someone, even when finding in-person therapists. We won’t know who will be good at first glance. For me personally, I knew I needed help & not being in therapy wasn’t an option for me. Nevertheless, thank you for watching & I wish you the best!
big con: allegedly selling your private data to advertisers
Better Help = Predatory advertising to vulnerable people in my opinion.
Betterkeep300$
😂😂😂 okay that’s a good one tho
