I will admit, I have a soft spot for Ruckert, I’m from his hometown. so that’s why. But I do think we need a change in the TE room. I like the Cuse tight end gasden
Us developing a QB? I don't see it. Why not hire Wes Phillips as the new head coach and have him bring Darnold with him? Clearly he knows how to coach the guy.
Think of it this way - he's had a journeyman career before coming to Minnesota and working with Wes Phillips. Now he won't have Jefferson to throw to, but he could have Wilson and Davonte. And Phillips has some serious cred - wade Wilson's son, coached under Jay gruden, Sean mcvay and now OConnell. Everyone who got rid of Darnold has been fired - he can come back with a total clean slate and a whole lotta salary.
I don't see it. The Vikings are in an absolutely ideal position: they have an competent and inexpensive number one, and a high draft pick on his rookie contract to sit for a few years and learn the game. There's no incentive to mess with that unless the Jets create one by what they put on the other side of the negotiation, which would have to be so rich it would stop your heart.
Oh ,Please !!!. Almost every young QB that left us became better. We have the worst QB development history in NFL. Specially with the management we have. We are better off having AR for next year and get a QB in 2026. We need to plug in a lot of holes OL/DL, CB, Tackles, safety. We need to start a social media riot to get a new ownership. Forget any future success under monkey Woody. His own father disliked him enough to name him Woody. We should think about that.
Just wait until next year there’s no reason to try and panic on sorting the QB of the future rn. Rodgers is more than good enough to start for another year. Take a QB in a class where we’re confident the QBs are good. But I would certainly entertain the idea of JJ especially if we hire a great offensive coach like Ben Johnson, Liam Coen, Monken etc. JJ has the arm, the athleticism and ability to win. Jim Harbaugh who is clearly a top quality NFL coach loved him so I see more positives than negatives.
As a Michigan graduate and die hard fan I am here to tell you JJ is going to be great. His teammates would literally run through a brick wall for him. He's a great leader. He can throw the ball out of the stadium. He's a great runner. He's very smart and accurate. There are no negatives with this kid. His stats are minimal because Michigan didn't have to throw the ball, but when they had to, JJ could make any throw. I was banging the table for the Jets to draft him, but I knew they wouldn't. I was so scared the Pats were going to draft him, I lol'd when they took Maye. Thank God Minnesota took him so he's not in the AFC.

hey BJF .. i'm looking forward to jordan travis recovery and starting his career , don't you think since we have him in the fold , adding j.j. mccarthy will be like having 1 ball and 2 rookies to share it ? darnold is the best thing to happen to vikes since JOE kapp & FRAN tarkenton ! he isn't going anywhere , he's found a home , vikes fans will go insane if he is not re-signed !
I think the Vikes will keep Sam if they get to the NFC Championship. Are they really going to take this talent and make this team sit behind JJ and wait for him to develop with growing pains?
So jets fans can boo him off the field? Please let this poor guy go to a better team with a better organization and knowledgeable fans. As long as the jets team has you people as fans and this owner in place every QB playing for the jets is doomed to fail.
I like travis. Thought he was a heisman candidate his last year. I feel that most Jests fans will be disappointed no matter who we pick. It stinks we can't get hunter.
Why would the jets trade for mccarthy? He literally is an unknown, he basically did nothing before he got hurt. The Vikings may well decide Sam is their QB but keep mccarthy as insurance. Mccarthy was not conaidered a top qb in the draft, he was considered raw talent to ait.
@TheBuffaloJetFan Obviously any untried QB is a risk. In this draft I don't see any QBs that get my heart going, and to draft the top QBs would take trading up. To get McCarthy would likely require trading picks and he to me falls into the same category as this year's draft class, not worth sacrificing a number 1 pick on ( or more). That said if Travis is physically a risk to not play or they think he isn't going to be good, McCarthy if he could be gotten for let's say a deeper round pick might be worth it, but I don't think Minnesota would trade him that easily.. obviously if minn thinks McCarthy is their long term QB still, if they think Sam is limited, they could FT Sam and let McCarthy sit and wouldn't trade him, which would make this moot.
Just want to add Jet fans loved Lazard replacing Corey Davis because Davis drops to many passes. Of course, you consider it but have to see what they want. I wouldn't give them the #8 pick for him personally
That's not how I remember it; I remember Corey Davis retiring, and suddenly the Jets were missing a real #2. That was my opinion, and some folks told me to relax, but no one was like "we don't need Davis -- we have Lazard", although their were a few "that's okay, because we have that room of UDFAs who look promising." There's no sense in which acquiring Lazard was replacing Davis. The Jets losing Davis was a pure loss. Yeah, that's the other thing -- Corey Davis retired unexpectedly -- he was not traded.
@ it literally takes 3 seconds out of my life to do so. You have to be able to take criticism, bud. You wasted about an hour of everyone’s life with this video.
The arrogance of Jets fans thinking that Darnold would come back after the physical and psychological pain he suffered last time around.
Realistically speaking if the vikings let him walk I'm sure he'd be open to it but I'm 99.9% sure vikings will keep him.
Fun fact: the Vikings have 3 ex Jets QB on their roster. Kevin O’Connell, Josh McCown, and Sam Darnold.
@@saraxiong nice

On a rookie contract, they cant expect Sam to throw for 4500 and 35 TDs every year. I think they let Same walk and stick with JJ. Maybe franchise Sam

Why the heck not?
He’s better than any of the QB’s in the draft this year.
Don’t think the Vikings will let him go even if they sign Darnold.
Only way AR is on the Vikings is if they don't want to give Darnold the big money he will be commanding.

Yes... Definitely. To answer your 1st question. Still want to keep Jordan Travis as well.
Darnold would never go back to the Jets again and Vikings are not trading JJ
The Vikings will ride Darnold as long as he plays well. JJ is on his rookie contract so they can afford to keep both.
That's not true. Everyone from his time here pretty much is gone.
Of course in reality you don't know that, but it's social media, so you do know that. I apologize.

we most likely need to think outside the box for our future QB. Reclamation project, JJ, draft & develop. Beggars can’t be choosers and we’re beggars
Why not just develop what n who we have?
@1HelluvaGuyBX you can do that too. Putting all our eggs in the Jordan Travis basket tho?

Darnold 2.0 .... why not ?
