Would love Gruden. By all accounts, He's A relentless worker. If you look at his coaching tree, it includes the likes of Mike Tomlin, Sean McVay and Kyle shanahan. When the buccaneers traded for him, it left them with little draft Capital and a high salary cap, which I think led to their long-term decline, although he did win a super bowl. He also got the most out of Rich Gannon and Derek Carr.

I agree, they need to hire the GM first & involve the GM in the search for a coach. They need to have the coach report to the GM and not to the owner. The GM should be responsible for evaluating the performance of the coaching staff, not the owner. This year one should assume that JD should have known that Saleh was the brain behind the defense and therefore would not have let him go mid season leaving Ulbrich as head coach. Did JD know this? Did Johnson talk to JD before firing Saleh? My guess is Johnson didn't consult JD before firing Saleh. This is the heart of the Jets problem. The owner has to be willing to hand the responsibility of judging the coaching to the GM and have only the GM report to Johnson. WOODY STAY OUT OF DIRECT INVOVEMENT IN JUDGING THE COACHING!!!!! IF YOU SEE SOMETHING ON THE FIELD YOU DON'T LIKE, TALK TO THE GM ABOUT IT. YOU THEN JUDGE THE GM BY WHAT HE SAYS AND THE RESUTS ON THE FIELD PLUS THE DRAFTING & FREE AGENT RESULTS.!!!!

Yeah it would make sense. If we’re interviewing old guys like Rex and Ron let’s give Jon a go. At least Gruden has a storied CV rife with success unlike the other two. And Gruden is a genius, listen to the guy talk about football, concepts and schemes he’s a maniac and he’s built to withstand NY.

Gruden would be great. Been saying it. That said, I doubt clueless marketing Jets president Hymie who makes these decisions would allow it. Gruden loves the Jets too.

Gruden would not be great. Tampa won the SB in his first season there. Then Gruden had two losing seasons. Had a .500 percent with the Raiders before he got into trouble with the league. Jets would be wise to stay far away from him.

Gruden has a chip on his shoulder and if he gets back in the league he wants payback. Remember the 85 bears they were like 2 different teams. Imagine Rex defensive coordinator then Gruden as offensive coordinator and Vrabel as head coach lol

Breece looks slow this yr - watch any other RB when they take the hand off and accelerate,, seems like it takes BH more time to hit the hole, just an observation

Happy New Year BJF, may 2025 be a good year for you and your family. Gruden had two consecutive losing seasons in Tampa after winning the SB. His teams were the first to have two consecutive losing seasons after winning the SB. He didn't do good with the Raiders. .500 record with Raiders. Don't want to hire someone based on one winning season, even if they won the SB. McCord you could probably get in a later round. Kingsbury as Jets HC? Don't think we are ready for an Air Raid Offense. Jets don't need a top fifteen QB. Didn't Ravens win the SB with Dilfer at QB? Dilfer was a mediocre QB, but, he did win a SB

With Aaron it's more than his ability as a QB, it's a culture and control issue. Not sure a new regime would/should deal with that.

The problems with Rogers is the larger than the franchise persona that serves as a major distraction and reinforces the Jets as a laughingstock organization. He should not return for the macro view of the Jets future. The Jets need to be more focused on the game than the glamour. The largest ego should be the coach imo, not the QB.

Ok two pints McCarthy did make the playoffs last year then fired the OC and now look and if Jets hire Gruden it would be in my opinion mean the jets are drafting a qb cause one thing he dose know is QBs he had a whole show

If Allar finishes strong in college football playoff and changes his mind to strike when the iron is hot, Jets should target him. Michigan's second team defense exposed Milroe. Not a polished qb whatsoever.

Probably be able to get McCord in round five. Rourke, the kid from Indiana looks good too. Dart from Mississippi also looks good. He may go round four or five also.

    • @Scarlet-RogueSports

@harlanabraham7772 McCord will move up following his Holiday Bowl performance if he decides to declare. Dart to me vastly overrated. Rourke can't throw in Meadowlands winds in winter time and will need a west coast offense OC to land with..McCord and Allar can make the necessary throws in the Meadowlands.
