With the size of the rad on the card. If space isn't a constraint in your case, using a 240 over a 360 doesn't seem logical. A 240mm rad will make an extra hole for air to pass around the rad, nothing else but a 120mm fan will fit there. It might as well be a 360 for that reason.. Smaller form factor cases would benefit from a 240 rather than a 360 but for a larger case it's wasted space

That whole BIOS button/switch thing? I would assume is some nVidia gimmick, where they require a card to have their "standard" bios for one reason or other. Maybe for it to auto-switch to it in case of emergency(a safe mode of sorts). Maybe? Or it's just to fit all the specs(power draw limits and such). And for enthusiasts there's that boost switch so they can fiddle a bit and go over that 320W etc.

Water makes a lot of sense for some of the new cards: I dunno if it makes as much sense for the 4080 though-- by all accounts the FE's 4090 air cooler keeps things well under control when applied to the cut-down card. I don't think I'd pay a premium for an AIO cooled 4080-- if I had an air-cooled PC I'd just buy an air-cooled card, and if I had a custom loop I'd buy a normal 4080 and add a waterblock.

I'm laughing my ass off so hard at the RTX 4080 launch. Every UK retail store has multiple models in stock right now and they've been on sale for over half an hour. This is a massive difference from the 4090 launch where every single card was sold out within minutes. People bought the 4090 at those high prices because they knew they'd be getting the fastest card on the market. With the 4080 however, most retailers are trying to sell them at £1400-1650 and nobody is buying. Thank goodness! People are finally realising Nvidia needs a kick in the pants. And if AMD's 7900 XTX beats the 4080, nvidia will be forced to drop the 4080 to £999 or below. I'm glad people are voting with their wallets. Nobody should be paying £1200-1650 for a non-flagship card.

@@kilowatt-son if they don't drop price they won't sell any 4080's. And if they don't sell any 4080's they'll miss out on hitting their sales targets and all their beloved investors will sell their shares, resulting in Nvidia's networth dropping. And that is something they definitely will not allow. Considering it costs around for nvidia $300 to manufacture a 4080 card, i'd say they'd still be making decent margin even if they dropped the price to around $800.
