It's kind of nice to see a shop that pays attention to detail. There are so many flat rate shops around that just slam bang it out the door. I think from a customers point of view I wouldn't mind paying a little more for a thorough audit to clean up any issues that jump out at you.
So much like my Australian Ford Fairmont 4 door! 1969! I had similar overheating challenges for years so I put a couple of vents in the bonnet and also upgraded to Aluminium radiator with big electric fan controlled by Davies Craig black box thermostat arrangement. In winter I have days it barely gets above 150! Last summer I was in traffic on a 35C near 100F day and it kept under 190!!! A stretch limo mechanic told me another trick for a V8 is to fit the 6 cylinder pulley on the water pump so it shifts more water at idle and low revs around town. No problems with cavitation on long country high speed cruises so I think it helps!
so i guess for the next while it should be "In..wait...wait..wait...Out Burger" And, of course, gorgeous car and great work by Lucky, one of my favorite online Hot Rod gurus.
GOOD JOB LUCKY, I MISS TONY. I HAVE A 64' FALCON SPRINT RESTO COYOTE GEN.3 6SPD.TREMEC, TCI SUSPENSION FRONT & BACK, WILL RUN FORGELINE WHEELS 18X7 & 18X10. THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT VIDEO AND CONTENT GOD BLESS. ALOHA BRADA BECK.
Thanks for the Video....Nice Fix....Really Sharp Falcon....nicely done. If for whatever reason, you choose to put additional venting in those "Panels" would it be possible to put "Louvers" in place of the holes. I think that would add a little style on those flat blank panels, and vent air out and be more likely to keep water splash and road debris out of the engine compartment...they also look kind of Old School...in keeping with the age of the car and all. Just a thought. Stay Healthy and Safe My Friend....Regards.....
I appreciate your attention to the little things, Lucky... Like the mystery wheel rattle or the funky steering column. Those are the things that can turn a great car into a series of annoyances when you want to enjoy driving. Love your videos!!
Frieburger and Finnegan would have just gotten rid of the hood. This is a better solution. I dig the falcon tho. I have a 61 in the shop thatll get done one of these days. Love the channel, thanks for the video!!
Lucky, I have a 64 Falcon with exactly the same problems (though I only get up to maybe 205). None the less, I’ll do what you just did. Thanks for the videos!
Being aussie and going through in n out burgers drive through was a complete experience. Would you like to eat in or take away? I was like I'm in a car so obviously take away 😂 but then the light bulb clicked and yeh pretty cool idea In n Out. Nice car too Lucky good to see your magic touch fix another customers problem 🤙
Absolutely a beautiful car , thanks for sharing Lucky , Colorado Springs is supposed to get In and Out Burgers here soon as well. Cant wait to try them
Block off the openings around the radiator where you opened up the core. Air will always take the path of least resistance, so instead of flowing through the radiator it’s going to flow up, over, and around it instead. If there was a splash shield underneath the radiator put it back as well as it contributes to creating a low(er) pressure area behind it to help draw air through it. I road race, and my car is called upon to cool the engine for 45 minutes at a clip while working at max capacity and the car stays cool on hot summer days in the draft. Air exiting the engine compartment isn’t an issue at the speeds most of us see.
Windsor, both top and bottom hoses are on the one side. What were they thinking? You can feel one side hot and one side cool. Use a Clevo waterpump, as they on 90s Fords. Depending on the overbore many simply will always be boilers.
Hey lucky I like watching the channel because you are old school you pay attention to the little things that oftentimes get overlooked. For instance the falcon that owner had some good work done but they miss the little stuff
Love Falcons, beautiful design of the sixties. Nice upgrades to combat any overheating. Drive through was the ultimate test. Would Collins waterless coolant worked any better ?
Love that paint. That color looks really good on that car. Lucky just seems like a really cool guy. Out of all the roadkill, motortrend guys he's the guy I'd want to hangout with. Btw i really wanna try a in n out 🍔. I've never had one & everyone says they're awesome.
I do C3 Corvettes, if they don't have the spoiler or the core-support hood seal, they tend to overheat.. sometimes all that stuff in front slows the air down so much that it's got plenty of out just no in.
Cool, good job, I hate when people just throw parts at crap without thinking of the real issue. The only constructive critism would be that there is some room around the radiator that air can bypass around it, I see people taking all the air flaps off of old cars and all the air isn’t directed into the radiator and they wonder why it’s overheating. Neat ride

Hi Lucky, good job. You're approach to a problem shows your skill, most people cannot troubleshoot, just throw parts at it.
Love the systematic approach, radiator, then thermostat, then loovers/holes to remove heat
How do you mean ?
Thanks for the ride in that super slick Falcon.

I bought a 64 falcon futura when I was 16 and still own it now that I’m 34
That’s a beautiful Falcon, that paint is crazy. Can’t tell if it’s orange or butterscotch. Love it. Great job step by step troubleshooting
Nice work, Lucky. I see your hair is approaching Dulcich length. I always learn something from your vids, thanks for posting.
Dulcich in a Monk bun was epic.
That interior is unbelievable!!
Until Lucky spills in n out burger ketchup on it .
@@davidking3311 Please don't sully my comment with your pessimism.

Cool ride right there! Glad I live in the rural area though so I can test drive out of town! Of course my Falcon would probably land me in jail!
Man, fries "well done" is a game changer at In N Out. We just got them here in N Tx, so I'm still learning all the hacks. Thanks, Lucky!
Thanks, Lucky! My circumstances don’t permit me to have a hot rod so watching your channel is the next best thing.
Same here!
And "Lucky tech" is the best!
The rust behind the bumper brackets that's been there since 1964 is a nice touch.
Handled.

Beautiful Car, still remember hangin out with You at that In'n'Out last year. Was a cool night
Frieburger and Finnegan would have just gotten rid of the hood. This is a better solution.
I dig the falcon tho. I have a 61 in the shop thatll get done one of these days.
Love the channel, thanks for the video!!
+1 on your approach. Love the car. Lil chuckle @In-n-Out: "Whas up, Pops? Whadda ya havin"
Watching you diagnose and solve is a great time. 👍✌
Very thorough assessment of the car.
Thanks Lucky ✌
You seem to be a great person and one that I could work around. Your Videos are really enjoyable and informative, thanks again for a great job.
Hi Lucky! Hello from Mukilteo, WA. I love your videos and they inspire me to keep working on my own weekend project, a ‘78 Chevy K20.
Excellent upgrade. Nice car! Great job again Lucky!
Cooling problems suck so bad. You give me hope.
Exceptional job again...I enjoy you vids Lucky. That is a beautiful whip.
Beautiful Falcon. Greats work cooling it down.
Hanging at my In and Out across from my dealer. 👍
❤ beautiful, I miss my '65 Falcon Wagon
I enjoy these videos thanks for making them. Now I want a Falcon, as if I don’t have enough projects sitting around as it is.
Hope you have a great week. Thanks, Lucky.👍🏼🤘🏼😎
Nice diagnosis Lucky!👍👍👍
Love the color on the car and awesome work as always lucky....🤙👍
Lucky, I have a 64 Falcon with exactly the same problems (though I only get up to maybe 205). None the less, I’ll do what you just did. Thanks for the videos!

Love that colour mate.
'Tangerine, tangerine ... living reflection from a dream' 🍊
Great video good job with the with the run hot problem.
Beautiful car! Love it!

Pretty sweet Falcon, I’ve always liked those.
Love the color.

Lucky that’s a beautiful ride for sure, and I have those Astro supremes in reverse offset just waiting to go on my 81 stepside :)
Absolutely a beautiful car , thanks for sharing Lucky , Colorado Springs is supposed to get In and Out Burgers here soon as well. Cant wait to try them
They are addictive like crack..every time we plan to travel to the US, first question is are we close to an In n Out.
Nice ride there Mr Lucky!!!
One of my favorite cars, along with the Mercury version of which I had 2.
If you still have this car in your shop please do a walk around! It’s stunning!

Yep......👍
Glad you're Perfection that sweet little car that thing is awesome keep up the great work lucky
Thats a super nice falcon.
Love that Falcon!
In my opinion that's the coolest body Ford made in the 60s, good work lucky
Nice work lucky. I like header wrap or ceramic coating. I always check water pump. But it looks like you've achieved your goal.
That falcon is beautiful,
ceramic coat the headers ! is what i would do 1st = under bonnet temps will drop by 1/2 , in hot australia we always start here ! usually !
Beautiful car for a Ford. Nice work Lucky
Sweet ride! 😎👍
Thanks for video I have some heating issues and you gave me some ideas to fix it
Beautiful car
What a beauty.
"Why is my car overheating? I've tried everything!"
Have you tried, um, airflow and efficiency?
"criçkets"
I’ve seen the same scenario happened with small block Ford because they’re commonly using the wrong rotation water pumps. Just something to check
Nice Falcon! Thanks Lucky
i like the longer video format lucky thanks
Man that falcon is cool sweet!!😎👍💕
no cheese no lettuce? Come on onion breath, that's not right. However thanks for the great updates.
That's a beautiful car
Sweet Falcon! Nice

Love the Supremes.
Well done Fries for the WIN !!!
Love your content Lucky! How many cars typically cycle through your shop every year?
Hey lucky I like watching the channel because you are old school you pay attention to the little things that oftentimes get overlooked. For instance the falcon that owner had some good work done but they miss the little stuff
Nice... Falcon 2dr awesomeness
No lettuce!? Well, at least you got the fries nice and crispy. 👍
I like that style Mustang, I mean Falcon...
Is 160-170 hot enough for the fuel injection to work properly or will it just always run rich trying to fully warm up?
Love Falcons, beautiful design of the sixties. Nice upgrades to combat any overheating. Drive through was the ultimate test. Would Collins waterless coolant worked any better ?

He’s the real deal.
Both lucky and those burgers are top notch.
I dig the Falcon !
That paint man
Damnit
Still looks wet
Sweet work y'all
Very nice car.
I rarely like fords but this little bird is sweet.
Cool video Lucky 👍😎
Damn right fries well done!! Same here
I miss my Falcon.
Great car ! made better when the owner will get to drive it whenever and for however long they want. Nice work Lucky !
I do C3 Corvettes, if they don't have the spoiler or the core-support hood seal, they tend to overheat.. sometimes all that stuff in front slows the air down so much that it's got plenty of out just no in.
Awesome car
Great looking and running car.
Front brake question, wildwood driver side, power stop passenger side? In the middle of a swap, or just how it rolls?
Send the headers out for internal / external thermal barrier coating... Substantially reduces under-hood temps.
That falcon is nice.
I added a speedway aluminum rad to my 66 c10, it helped but I need to cut the core support and go bigger.
Cool, good job, I hate when people just throw parts at crap without thinking of the real issue. sweet falcon
cool color
Beautiful Falcon. Would look great parked beside my orange 62 wagon😉😂
Fine Falcon. Did you have to do the whole In n Out thing though? Darn man, the last one I had was in Dallas 3 months ago. Missing me a double double.
Yeah I've put vents in my trailblazers hood because once I stuff the vortec 8.1 in it figured I would need them.
