They are reaching above their pay grade. No matter what your personal opinion is about transgender children it's none of your business. They've always insisted upon parental rights and demand that their children be shielded from American history, and culture yet, it's A-OK when children of trans parents have their rights trampled. The parent's are responsible at the end of the day for their children's welfare, and the law makes them so. Leave other people's kid's alone. Treat their children with the same special care that you want your children treated with. They are literally traumatizing teenagers. Abuse of minors isn't the way to solve any of the issues they say they're concerned with it's only hurting children which is never right. Cruelty is the point. 👉 👈
We saw the teacher in Texas who told one of her young ones that the young one should not criticize an adult who wants to 'get it on' with someone who is 5. I'm guessing you support the teacher on this.

My beautiful, brilliant niece after a lot of inner confusion and suffering accepted at 17 that she was transgender. She told her teachers and classmates, her parents, and received a lot of acceptance and support. But she wasn’t allowed to transition in her dress or sports classes. She saw a psychiatrist. And in the middle of her senior year, after a very successful school concert, performance, she quietly went into the woods and hung herself. The school received notification of her designation as a Presidential Scholar two days later. Everyone was horrified. Her parents devastated. We will never truly recover. I can only wonder, if she’d been allowed to transition in school and find true acceptance with her peers, (she was very popular and a class leader), if the headlines about transgender students were not primarily about not being allowed to use gender appropriate bathrooms, about the murder rates for trans women, about the Republican attacks on transgender medical care, if she’d been able to find a supportive societal context in which to face her personal fears about her identity and the necessity of transitioning, perhaps she would still be with us, and able to contribute her brilliant mind and kindly spirit to solving some of the challenges we face today. Hate is cheap and lazy. And so very expensive in terms on human potential. And so very ungodly.
I'm so sorry for you and your family's loss. I totally agree with you. People especially politicians need to mind their own business and leave our children alone to become the person that they want to be. All they're doing is making suicide even more of a possibility than it already is among our teenagers. It's already hard enough for them emotionally during those years.

Being Christian does not mean the acceptance of child abuse. My husband and I raised two children. Our son went through a stage were he plaid Barbies with his sister. My husband and I said nothing to ensure we did not plant thoughts in his head to confuse his gender identity. He grew out of

This is so sad! I am a single working mom raising a trans kid in Germany - I cannot believe what I am hearing and seeing! It's simply inconceivable that politicians in should have the power to interfere with these completely private matters, just horrible!!
We are so grateful for the support we get here in Germany from virtually everybody with very few exceptions; my child is dealing with enough chaos and emotional upheaval as it is, he doesn't need politicians making everything much, much worse!

Suppressing my own "loving feminine nature" was indescribably painful ,further compounded by having to suppress the intensity of that pain.All of which has led to a life of sadness ,grief, disillusionment, dishonesty and underachievement.i know that it was a time of extreme conservatism and therefore all avenues and opportunities for empathy ,understanding,love and support were non existent. But if I was to be my 3 year old self,my five year old self, my eight year old self,12,14,15,16,17,year old self all over again , I would love,LOVE LOVE with all my 💖 heart to be born into such a beautiful kind understanding loving family as yours. Quoted in the _Dallas Observer:_ "My most important job in life is being a mom, and my son and his safety are my top priority. Since the attorney general has never met an openly transgender child, Adam and I felt that it was important for him to meet our amazing son, so that he could put a face to this issue."

My nephew reintroduced himself to our family as my niece at the age of 15. I love her unconditionally and support her in whatever decisions she makes. Loving and supporting your children is NOT abuse. She transitioned socially meaning that her pronouns and clothing have changed but has had no medical intervention. We expected her to make some sort of announcement at some point. It was clear from around the time that she was a year old. I personally worry about kids who take hormones or hormone blockers because there isn't enough data to prove that it isn't harmful in the long term but that's just my personal opinion. I still don't think it's abuse. Rather it's a parent wanting to do whatever it takes to have a happy and healthy child. Why that's anyone else's business is beyond my ability to understand.

However, in the current world where there are black market trans people openly trying to give hormones to under aged kids. In a world where out of state hospitals are removing the health breasts of under aged kids. In a world where big pharma is trying to make as much money on these kids as they can, yes it is okay to have the schools or in some cases cps ask questions.
In the state of Washington you don't have to be 18 or your parents to go to a doctor and get these drugs that will change your life for ever.
If this girl is just going through a phase and is pretending to be a boy then what ever the state should back off. However, if there are life changing actions being taken by the parents then that is child abuse and the state should get involved. Just like if some parents were letting a 16 year old do meth.

Dr. Adam Briggle is an amazing Professor. I enjoyed having him for graduate Philosophy classes when I was working on my Master's in History. He and his wife are awesome people and they are raising amazing kids. They deserve all good things.

Please enlighten me as to what you believe “grooming” consists of. Because the normal definition is that a person is manipulated into behaving a certain way. By that definition, forcing me to wear dresses and makeup would qualify as “grooming.” And abuse.
When a child feels like they should be male but find themselves in a female body (or vice versa) is called gender dysphoria. Like homosexuality, this is not something they choose, they are born that way. They feel the “wrongness” of their gender early in life.
So, is it abuse to allow them to be the gender they feel like they are, or is it abuse to force them to be the gender they hate?
Manipulating them emotionally to conform to the gender of their body instead of the gender of their mind is the real abuse here. They will be bullied. They will be miserable and suicidal.
It would be kindness if you step back from your black and white world and learn to appreciate and love people as they are. A male in a female body is no threat and does not harm anyone else. This is something you either are or are not - nobody will change their own gender just because they know another person who has gender dysphoria.
Did you decide to be heterosexual? At what age did you decide to be male? You didn’t. You just were a boy. These kids are the same way - they were unlucky in that their mental gender is not the same as their physical gender. They certainly didn’t want to be born this way. But they were.
Why can you not show them the same love and compassion as you do a normal person? Why is it “wrong” in your mind to allow them to be what they are on the inside, to let them be happy?
There is so much we still don't know about gender. National Geographic magazine did an entire one on gender a few years ago. Well worth the time to find a copy of it!!!!!!

As a g'ma of a trans kid this infuriates me. It's no one's biz not even me. I just love my grand unconditionally! The bar of acceptance is literally so low and still people refuse to reach for it.
I think the point of all of this is any good parent would rather have a living child than a dead one, doctors and mental health professionals aren't transitioning kids at the drop of a credit card like some people act like they are.

Let me give all the Transphobic and Trans activists a little bit of perspective. I was born in 1972 when LGBT was not really talked about. When I was approximately 5 years old I asked my mum why she had cut my Willy off. She hadn’t I was born a girl, but thought my parents could choose whether I was a boy or girl. I told my parents that I wasn’t a girl, I was a boy and that my new name was Jack not Jackie. This went on for months, I refused to wear dresses or play with “girly” toys. My parents basically just let me be me, they didn’t take me to a doctor (that could be because it was 1977/78) but they didn’t make a big deal out of it.
Eventually I grew out of wanting to be called Jack, I still refused to wear dresses and play with girly toys but if asked I’d say I was a girl. As I got older I would still have thoughts of being in the “wrong” body but just got on with life.
In 2000 I came out as a lesbian, I’m happy in my body and happy in my life.
My point is this, just let kids be kids, if a girl wants to dress as a boy, play with boy’s toys let her. If a boy wants to dress as a girl and play with girl’s toys, let him. They will either grow out of it or when THEY are mature enough to understand, they can then make the decision for themselves. But most importantly DON’T JUDGE AND JUST LOVE YOUR KIDS

It makes me so sad to think of all the kids out there that don't have the support from their families. I've seen stories of young teens being thrown out of their homes for coming out to their families. It's disgusting.
both of my parents were deathly afraid that the reagan administration would come and kidnap me and Sis from them, not because of stuff like transgender issues, but for something people still refuse to talk about: atheism. my sister and i were raised without religion in our lives. so i can imagine how terrifying it is for this family, as well as others, being interrogated/blamed for being bad parents or being spirited away and plopped into a Flanders-like family who'll most likely drown you in the act of baptizing.
I've been divorced for 12 yrs now and have a beautiful daughter who will be turning 14th yrs in October. Just recently she told me she is transgender but has not told her mother. My daughter and I have an open and honest relationship as Father & Daughter and also as a trusted friend that she can always relate to no. I may not fully understand the problems and the troubling situations that she is going through in her daily life. I told her that she isn't alone in this and that I'll support her and be there for her what ever she decides and wants. I love my daughter for who she is but mostly because she's my daughter. All I want is her happiness and to a future she can look forward too.

First Texas was going after doctors and women about abortion, now the state of Texas are going after parents of transgender kids. Both kids look healthy and well taken care of. It's never easy raising kids, especially teenagers. But, having child services coming after you because the child is transgender is wrong. Even the Briggles said the case worker didn't like doing it, but she didn't have a choice. She had leave the case open so her supervisors won't be suspicious if she close the case, plus she wanted to keep her job.
We saw the teacher in Texas who told one of her young ones that the young one should not criticize an adult who wants to 'get it on' with someone who is 5. I'm guessing you support the teacher on this.

I transitioned as an adult. It was so difficult. If I had known support as a child, if I had the knowledge of why I felt the way I did, I would have probably transitioned as a much younger individual. The physical aspect of transitioning would have been so much better. I am so overjoyed for these families that are receiving help. Every time I here politically motivated people attacking them I am sickened. Transitioning isn't easy for most people. Kicking us when we're down, to protect us? This is the most deluded form of abuse, can you imagine a child shouldering the feeling of hurting their family, just because of how they feel?
