If the happiness of a child you don't even know, will never encounter in your life, and who has absolutely zero impact on you & your family outrages you, then what's seriously wrong is you, not the child & their parents. And how dare you claim that you're worried about the welfare of trans kids when you spend your time shaming &/or bullying them & their families - you're the reason why the welfare of trans kids needs to be worried about! Assuming you're religious, it'd be wise to devote your time to praying for your own soul

Thanks for sharing the story. I honestly didn't know much about this, and I feel bad. I'm ignorant and have been consuming other things and totally missed this perspective. I have a son, and I'd support him no matter what. People can be really cruel sometimes. I could've been in the other group. I can see the correlation between this and some stuff I went through. This is wild. Sorry

My heart goes out to this family. So painful to watch. As are some of the comments here. Love and support will win, but I'm so sorry that hateful people who want to spew vitriol and scream have to be endured. I actually hope that you can get out to a more supportive environment. I know that it can be hugely difficult to leave others who don't have the means to do so behind though. 💖

This was really familiar, we also have a trans teenager named Max that plays the ukelele. We live in MA so things are easier for us. This sort of thing is so important to show the fearful- that you're just a family and he's just a person. Please stay safe and keep moving forward.
