    You gave it a fair review.
    Unlike OutDoorGearReview. He really didn't like it. I think the point he completely missed is that it is intended for use in conjunction with a mess tin to warm up a standard British Army issue boil in the bag ration. Hence the large tabs and flame. Nice and simple. Even a Para can't cock that one up.
    Your quite right about the fuel blocks being expensive, but that's B.C.B. for you. They've always been overpriced.

    I totally agree. I've worn out a few of these. Mainly during lockdown. I found a few 20ml bottles that fit and made two simple meths burners from travel deodorant bottles and carbon felt that fit nicely. Ideal for a brew and mug full of instant noodles on a day hike.

    I think this stove was a great foundation for your modifications and shined in those applications. I agree the fuel is costly, and it will drip out while burning when used in its original format. For these reasons it has not replaced my Esbit.

    I have some stove like that, but it’s a noname. I like my esbit stove more
