My Tribute to the Sultan of compositions (MS Baburaj) Babukka and to Smt.S.Janaki
From an old interview.....
S JANAKI speaks very highly of Baburaj ,she says he was also a very good singer,his compositions were magic.Janaki amma used to sing his songs so well that Baburaj used to come after every recording and ask janaki amma "how can you sing so well " ?
Janaki amma used to reply that " you have composed outstanding tunes so brilliantly that automatically i give my best ".
Their combination was very similar if not better than Madan Mohan/Lata ji combination.
Baburaj's greatest achievement was that he brought Hindustani music into malayalam and so succesfully that each of his compositions are regarded as gems ,he was known as the Sultan of music .
