Now, if they could only make a brain module to host 3rd party vendor kits like this. That would be a step forward for Roland.
I don’t plan on buying new drums or a module anytime soon, yet I watch every video these guys put out because he’s so good...
Thank you very much, glad you like the videos! :)
Same lol
Sounds WAY better than the stock TD-50 sounds! Ralf's playing is tasty!
Thanks Jonas, glad you like it! :)
I'm not usually a td50 fan, but this sound edition SOUNDS MUCH BETTER than ANY Roland has ever sounded. I especially liked the Louis Bells kit! Well done fellas!...well done.
Also, I love my new Real Feel heads from Drum-Tec. They trigger great, and feel even better. Shipped from Germany to Kentucky USA in under a week. Impressive.
A beginner drummer here, and that is one sweet e-drum kit; the sound is also amazing.
Love that drum finish. Really like the DrumTec lugs too. Chunky and compact, my fav.
Awesome! Something similar for the TD-17 would be great too!
I full-heartedly agree
I been watching this videos for years now, and you always kick on 1
Hey Bob, that's great to hear! Is this a good or bad thing? :-D
Superb Drums, superb cymbals, superb sounds and a very talented Ralf :-)
Thanks pal! :)
Damn, that Jazz kit is kicking my butt!
:-D
5:07 thank you for the Jazz. I really needed that. 😎
:-D
First time I’ve heard the td50 sound really good. As good as the mimic sounds are, you seem to play more like you do on a acoustic kit with the td50. Keep up the great work the production and playing is always top notch.
Thanks Thomas, glad you like it!
What can I say more? Really beauty drumset, great playing grooves, and great sounding! A really good work (as always) with Drumtec. Ah, If I still have mine, I 've already buy this Vintage Sound Edition! (To sad to have to stop playing drums). You're a really good Company.
Thank you so much! Sorry to hear you had to quit drumming though :( kind regards & keep it up!
Thank you so much for your kind reply. Gilles
Just downloaded these add on kits. They are great sounding with accurate triggering right away, no tweaking, no fussing with high hat settings, velocities, and snare strike position , etc. For $38 USD (@ today's exchange rate) it's a no brainer. I did have to rename the files to higher numbers to get the module to see them, possibly because I had already loaded the Roland Artist kits or I just don't understand how the SD card is supposed to be organized: Either way it took maybe 10 minutes. I hope you guys make more of these. And lastly, great playing Ralf. I'm stealing some of your licks :)
Thanks for your nice feedback, great to hear! :)
Just picked up the Vintage pack - great work!
Thank you very much, glad to hear that! :)
This video made my decision to buy the td50 an easy one. Gonna have to get this vintage pack!
Hey Bruce, great to hear that :) Kind regards & happy drumming!
I came here to listen to Ralf , Wow that fill starting at 4:10 😱. I must admit this package is 💥💥💥
Thank you Bob, great to hear! :)
An edition that would work w the TD-30 module would be great too!
Great video, and yes Ralf is awesome as usual.
What strikes me is the better snare sounds than the TD 30 very realistic !
@M K "Better" is subjective. He can't be "wrong" for saying he likes them better.
GREAT 🤘🤘🤘
Not sure I'd agree with the drum kits sounding like the originals, but the playing is great.
Ralf, You my friend, are an amazing drummer!!
Thank you so much Ken! :)
uhhhh so amazing drummer...
Thank you very much Umberto, you can find more drumming/music on my personal YT channel digitaldrumming if you like. Kind regards!

fantastic Drum Kit, cannot really decide between red oyster and black slate..
Damn that set is sexy as hell.
TD30 still The King on Ghost Note Sound
💛
Nice kit and sounds from the td50 module. I need some help in making a decision I have owned the td20 since it came out and now I want to upgrade my module. It's between the td50 or the pearl mimic pro. They both sound good but I need to know which one has better dynamics and sensitivity. I understand that I would have to purchase the td50 package at a higher cost. The music stores in my area don't have a demo, any feedback would be helpful.
Well thats a really tough decision, both modules offer great features. I would say in terms of playing/triggering and ease of setting up your trigger parameters, the TD-50 is a little ahead of the Pearl, which needs more time to really tweek to your personal style of playing. On the other hand, the Pearl Mimic Pro has very convincing multilayer audio samples for it´s sounds (Steven Slate drum samples) and lots of direct outputs, which makes it a perfect setup for live. While with TD-50, you could also hook up your laptop through midi & trigger external sample libraries like Superior Drummer or Addictive drums (well, same goes for the Mimic which also has midi out). So in the end, it´s really up to what you are planning to do with it in the first place & what your personal sound preference is. Hope this helps a little, kind regards!
@@drumtecTV So my understanding is they both are close in dynamics and sensitivity but the Pearl needs more tweaking to match the td50 but can be done. So your saying even with the td50 new snare technology the Pearl can perform just as good, is that correct. Thanks!
@@mojodrum3215 Pearl Mimic Pro does not have positional sensing on the snare, that´s Roland exclusive. My personal(!) opinion is, that playability with the TD-50 will be better right out of the box, and it is a lot of work to get the Mimic Pro to a comparable level. But that´s just me :) there will be other users telling you the exact opposite, best would be to test both for yourself. Please for any further detailled / in-depth product support & querstions, get in touch with our service team through info@drum-tec.de directly. The guys will gladly help you out! :)
I would just add that the cymbals on the TD-50 are better than the Mimic. Currently, the Mimic has no drumstick tip sounds for the crashes for both choked and un-choked articulations. Also, if you go with the Mimic you will lose positional sensing on the snare and ride.
Awesome playing my friend, I have a TD 50 but it doesn't have these kits? How can I get them?
Hey Don, thank you! :) you can find the drum-tec Vintage Soun Edition for Roland TD-50 over here:

Kind regards!
звук хороший у барабанов
Awesome playing as always! Do you have any tutorials or any of your licks written out?
Hey Bob, thank you very much! I hope I´ll find the time to do some tutorials on my digitaldrumming channel at some point in the future :) Kind regards!
If I buy the VIntage Sound Edition, AND the Metal Sound Edition, can I put both on my TD50 at the same time? OR Does restoring one backup overwrite the other?
Hey John, you can load each kit into your module separately:
ruclips.net/video/2Lyd_wsqPss/видео.html
You might run out of sample memory, as both editions use external audio samples though. But please get in touch through info@drum-tec.de for more info on this matter please. Kind regards!
Will I be able to replace with normal drum heads when needed? And then revert back to these electronic drum heads after that?
Hi Swamy, no that's not possible unfortunately, as the trigger systems are built & measured to the shells, you'd lose your warranty when removing any parts. Please don't hesitate to get in touch through service@drum-tec.de for any further questions. Kind regards!
Hello, I'm interested in purchasing one of these artist kits. I'd like to know if these are new audio samples or if these are roland's module sounds that have been remixed?
What's the size of the download file?
Thanks again! I wish I lived in EU. I'd purchase every Drum-Tec product. Greetings from Argentina!
Hi Marcelo, the Sound Editions are based on the module´s internal sounds for playability, with added external samples for more sound realism. The download file will only be a few megabytes size. We ship internationally :)

If you need any further asssistance or an individual quote on your dream kit configuration incl. international shipping, please feel free to get in touch through info@drum-tec.de! Kind regards
They sound awesome! Are these recordings of the actual kits or are they TD-50 sounds that have been engineered to replicate the kits? Also, I've never loaded samples into the TD-50 module, can the sounds be altered and customized in the module?
Hey Trent, the kits are based on the TD-50´s internal sounds, but also contain some additional audio samples layered as sub samples. It would probably be better to edit your external samples before importing to the TD-50, the possibilities inside the module are limited, although there are some basic parameters. Kind regards!
Louis Bells = The awesome Louis Bellson?
Talented Ralf!:) Not so talented module. Ive had all the high end roland kits since ten years, and this module cant produce a singel snare I can use. No bottom in all the snares and the sound is über-plastic. Why are Roland doing this when pearl mimic pro and alesis strike is on the market? Just tried the new td 17 and the snares on that is by far more usable than the td 50s snares. Ive been tweeking the td 50 module for weeks now, but to no avail. SO: Ordered the mimic pro and cant wait. Roland has the build quality and the trigger response (awesome with superior drummer 3) but the modules seems to be getting worse soundwise....IT doesnt even come close to sound like real drums(!)
Are these actual drum samples from different drum sets? Or still factory presets modified?
Hey Art, the kits are generally based on the TD-50 internal sound engine, but come with some additional samples layered below the main sounds as "sub samples". KInd regards!
Do you play these to a metronome?
Hey Jason, the music tracks are usually click based. But the rest of the demos is spontaneous & without any click :) kind regards!
I don’t know why but in all of these videos the ride cymbal seems to be under mixed by about 30%. Sometimes you can’t even hear it when he’s riding it... just saying... The high hat volume is questionable also
Well, I guess neither questionable nor "undermixed" (this implies therte is a "correct" and "wrong" way of adjusting volumes?), rather a matter of individual taste :-D And obviously one of the great features of electronic drum modules is, that you can adjust all volumes to your individual liking. Kind regards
are those real samples? i know the older modules do not use actual drum samples
The TD50 uses real drum samples but they are heavily processed to reduce latency. However in this video the Drum-Tec crew gave the best to make the best out of TD50 sounds and Ralf poured his soul into the playing examples.
Hey Gary, the TD-50 offers the possibility to import & layer audio samples (only one shot samples though, one per trigger zone/instrument). So most of the kit sounds are based on processed/edited onboard sounds of the TD-50, with some additional layered audio samples here and there. Kind regards!
Wonderful set but this synthetic Roland sounds are just horrible! Never heard about 2 Box? 😉
I just dont like the kick on any of them :(
