- The Wheelock Exceder is one of my favorite modern fire alarms in my collection. In this video I show all the features I enjoy, as well as some of the drawbacks to this device.
This alarm is great for someone just starting a collection or someone that is looking to install a basic fire alarm system in a building.

How funny, the Wheelock NS so happens to be a personal favorite of mine :P (I give the Exceder however some well respect too. it's a very nice modern fire alarm device for what it is)

Wheelock Exceder is a good alarm, but Horn Strobe wise, I prefer the Wheelock 7002T - 24.
Speaker Strobe wise, I prefer the Simplex 4906 - 9151 Truealert Speaker Strobe.

As I am making this comment, it has already been ONE YEAR since Wheelove’s current intro (seen at 0:06) had its first usage! It was first used in a system test video on June 8, 2019!
The contact tabs to connect the wiring on the back of the alarm are very similar to the System Sensor L Series.
I love this alarm I’m also planning on starting to collect alarms, I’m hoping to get a spectralert advance soon.
I have 9 wheelock alarms in my collection. There all very cool.
I have the strc strobe only red ceiling mount exceeder
Nice. Always thought these looked a little nicer than the advances at the time.
My hometown usually has Edwards fire alarms
Mine usually has System sensors
I had those and the BG-10 +12 in my school :)
This is the same fire alarm in my school.
7 years ago my schools fire alarms went haywire and started going off at random. They played music, made EAS sounds, talked, made high pitched noises that hurt my ears, and believe it or not, said the f word (at least thats what i heard.)
Btw it was a vertical Wheelock RS

We have some exceeders in school but the rest are NSs. They’re not exactly quieter than the NSs lol

Wheelock Exceeder is a good alarm.
I saw the ceiling mount version of It somewhere.
I have Wheelock E70 - MCW Speaker Strobe.
I'm gonna connect it to an Edwards 278B - 1120 pull station, and a Simplex 4906 - 9151 Truealert Speaker Strobe.
Edit" would you know anything about the Wheelock 7002T - 24 Horn Strobe?
Mine rode a Otis elevator.
My High school and my doctors office has those alarms and they are horn strobes.
I have one of those, but mine didnt come with a backing plate, so i just directly wire to the alarm.
The strobe flashes, but i dont know how to work the horn. Can anyone help?
I saw a pic of a dead cricket in an exceder like that and idk how it was able to get inside the cover

Its interesting that wheelock never made an weather proof Exceeder. But they never made NSWP and a ZNSWP.

Evolution is first the NS then the ZNS next to the Exceder. Also, the Exceder LED.
I have the exceeder alarms in my school
My school has two or three exeders and the rest are wheelock ns
My School Has Those But Most of Them are Ceiling Units and There All White outdoor was I Thank 1 Wheelock AS And Most of The outdoor Alarms Are Wheelock MTs Horn Only
And if installers go with EST products the Genesis is what they will install

How loud are the Exceders compared to the ZNS’s? I know they have the exact same sound though.

When was the recall and do you have more information?
@@FiveSixEP it was in Apr of 2021, and I think it was issues with the mounting bracket. Other than the screws jamming, I didn’t see other issues

Wheelock likes to have the same repeated sound for their different alarms.
