Please get a Marine mortarman on next! I'm a mortarman in the Army, would love to hear the other side
Coming soon, already conducted the interview!
@@kagan.dunlap Awesome sauce.
60s, 81s, or 120s?

“You can talk about us but you can’t talk without us”
Oh I’m definitely planning on doing this one as well
@@kagan.dunlap Roger That! 🫡
To sum it up, Gunner go “DO DO DO DO DO DO DO DO DO DO DO DO DO HAHA DO DO DO DO DO DO DO
Kinda like baby shark lol
The other thing is through 20 years of combat we've been able to develop these TTPs and the new 0331 doctrine. Machine guns are employed at the lowest level in a building from lessons learned in OIF. We developed MSL considerations from OEF where there were wide open wadis and maneuver elements enveloping on objectives. I don't think anyone even got to see what grazing fire is until the combat of the last 20 years. The marine corps infantry is so unique because of each 03 MOS. They are jacks of all trades but masters of their individual MOSs.
Assaultman are defiant, beligerant, a little weird, and complete crackheads but they're the smartest dudes youll ever meet. 0331s are the most prideful group in the infantry and have the most diverse personalities amongst their ranks. We all lift and half of us are crackheads but we hold our boots to such an insanely high standards.
Go to bootcamp soon im going Infrantry met a Gunny at MEPS.He said 9 times out of 10 I will end up being a machine gunner because of my size.Im 6'2 220.Glad I get actually hear about this MOS
Best Stafsgt I had was from the Island, Man. I remember when the saw was brand new in the mid '80's. Enjoy youngmen.
I’ve known some pretty incredible guys who were Machine Gunners too. Love it!
2531 radio operator. This happened in Oki. Comm Co. 3rd FSSG. They sent admin to the m60 range. 3-4 teams. Wore them out by the end of the day. Couldn't turn in unused ammo. We were given 1 order don't burn up the barrel. Free traverse & elevation. The perks of range control. 😁😁
Don’t lie… I read the title and I already know…
Field day barracks rooms, police cigarette butts, etc. just like we all do. 😂😂
Experiences may vary and yeah cleaning things is definitely part of the experience but I’d say it’s a relatively small part of
How about a 1371? Engineers Up!
Curious what's changed since my EAS and whether it's still the best job in the Corps😎
I’m planning on doing an engineer interview as well 100%
Another dope episode.. LCpl Simms seems like a solid dude, and serves as an exemplar of the high standards of today's Marine Corps. Thanks for continuing this MOS spotlight series, Kagan...
I appreciate that brotha! Yeah I agree, he’s a sharp guy and I had a feeling people would appreciate the things he had to say. More to follow too!
That was very informative. Remington made a adjustable spring on their rifle to compensate the recoil to shoot shorts and longs and long rifle shells. It could be dangerous when the spring flew out the back, so it got welded in place to just shoot lr.
I’m glad this was at least somewhat beneficial, I’d like to delve deeper into these types of conversations as we go forward with various MOSs as well
Interviews like this are super helpful to me with trying to decide what mos to go with please keep em coming!
I will absolutely be doing that, I only hope that RUclips actually allows people to see them so they can be useful
Miss my 240 hands down the best job in the corps and anywhere for that matter
I love how this is the general consensus among 0331s
@@kagan.dunlap always will be the best job I ever had
I can’t wait to graduate I want to be an 0331.
This video was so good! Thanks for making it, I am very interested in the machine gunners aswell as helicopter stuff. Tbh im so interested in machine gunners and this video explains alot. Thanks for the vid. I learned alot from listening and plan to search yp some things after this. Thanks yet again
Absolutely! This is the whole reason I think these videos are important! I want this to help people understand what the various jobs are like so they can hear it from the people who do them. I’m glad you enjoyed it!
As a 3531 motor T operator that’s also pretty proficient on machine guns because I get to drive with them on top of my trucks. I love machine guns and I love my 0331 compadres
I was waiting for this video
There’s more coming too
ISMT:
Indoor Simulated Marksmanship Trainer.
Correct
Cant wait to join up and be a 0331
I want to try to be more like you Kagan
I don’t know if I’m cool enough for that but if you can be a good person I think you’ll be good!
What a cool story! Any 68 Whiskeys around?
We’re gonna try to do more interviews with various MOSs going forward once we complete all the Infantry MOSs
Please do a new supplementary series for the boys...
Hidden camera show for Master Gun's , Senior CWO's, and the craftiest enlisted pairs of skates the USMC has to offer.
Kinda like lifestyles of the rich and famous but substitute money, fame, and extravagance with time left alone, distance from command, and tour what fine libations, hors d'eouvres, and secret-societies/swinger circles they attend after libo call.
Should've interviewed a WIG or AMGC instructor. The level of proficiency those dudes have is uncanny. They're 0311 and 0331 subject matter experts and all fought in OEF or OIF. SGT sheridan on the west coast for sure
Nice video! Mr. Dunlap, are you the Bn Gunner at 1/8 right now?
I am not, I just have a genuine interest in getting the word out on what it’s like being in various jobs in the Marine Corps
let's go!
Oh god kagan has a pod cast now fuck
Is that a bad thing?
How do you not be selected to be a assistant gunner, I’m trying to shoot the gun
03's R us
There’s more 03 interviews to come
3 17 lets go
That’s coming soon
@@kagan.dunlapany idea on sniper modern day sniper guys were 0317 and still train civilian to military snipers
M2 developed in 1918.
Browning knew his stuff
@@kagan.dunlapthe man was a pure genius, that worked hard and had a good set of principles to live by. We loved him overhere, and he seemed to like us. A big reason we still have a weaponsindustry in this country is the fact things clicked between Browing and FN. He expected an extreme quality of workmanship,an expectation that only a few companies at the time could live up to.
Sadly he died of a heart attack while working in his FN office in Herstal on 26 November 1926. It was his 61st visit to Belgium. (Imagine how motivated you need to be to do that trip 61 times,.... by ship 😲🤯, insane)
His body was repatriated to the United States, where he was buried with full military honours. His son Val continued his collaboration with the Belgian factory without interruption. That collaboration continues to this very day.
🤘🤣🇧🇪🇺🇲
yeah i think talking to an E3 is a mistake. should have interviewed someone with more than a year of experience, maybe even someone who has done their job outside of a training area.
I think he was a great example, he’s a team leader and he’s well respected in the battalion he’s from. That being said I’m not against interviewing other folks of the same MOS with varying levels of perspective
E3 with a couple aschools and a few years under his belt, definitely prefer an interview on him over some ssgt or something with a script, kid is a hard hitter.
The L/Cpl is a fine example of what a Marine is. If Kagan can't get the intended results from him, a SSgt won't deliver. Meeting and greeting a low ranking enlisted Marine who displays great poise and confidence with a lot if MOS knowledge shows that his senior leadership has their job
What do you think of undocumented persons having to sign up for selective service to be eligible for their American passport as they are looking for options here in the United States
I think that service to the country is a great pathway to citizenship and a lot of really good folk have done it in the past
I do also, immigrants came from the shit countries that dems are trying to turn ours into. Another thing, when the Mexicans make it across the border they vote republican after seeing the gender confusion because they are mostly devout catholics
Did the military phase the saw out?
That's not a 31's weapon. It's for a rifleman. 0331s operate crew served pieces
The Marine Corps did, however some units still have them
@@kagan.dunlap Right on. Really enjoyed the interview btw. You have the gift of gab sir
0331 is a 0311 on steroids♡
To a certain degree hah
Damn. How did we spend 36min saying eat rocks, and support rifleman?
I’m not sure, is that what happened?
i got the 69 view
That’s a good view
@@kagan.dunlap good view for a good video
Quit bringing boots on !!
I want to talk to people of all ranks and varying experiences. I think it’s beneficial for all of us.
@@kagan.dunlapthe true leader stuff
This boot doesn’t know half of what he’s talking about
I disagree, I think he was well versed in Machine Gunnery.
What? Educate us then Senior Boot?
Lol Tyler you’re definitely a civilian aren’t you
@@kagan.dunlap I apologize for calling LCpl sims a boot, being a machine gunner myself and being in the same positions as him I’m sure he understands his MOS and has great ability to lead and employ assets as needed. What I should’ve said is that he lacks the ability to speak on and explain things in a way that everyone could understand fully. But maybe that’s just the instructor part of me focusing on this. By no means am I saying he said anything wrong!
@@silaslocklear6467 I’m not saying he is wrong but he doesn’t explain it well and he doesn’t know what he is talking about 🤦🏾♂️ you just didn’t expect kagan to respond to you and your tryna save face
