  • In this episode we're going to find out what a Mortarman does in the United States Marine Corps Infantry. Today we sit down with Corporal Lupovitz who is currently in the 81mm Mortar Platoon in 1st Battalion 8th Marines, Weapons Company to discuss what life is like for an 0341 in the Marine Corps today.

    The o341 81s platoon is the stone that keeps the 11s sharp.
    Why? Because someone had to be the aggressor in training, and the mortar training range isn’t a place you want to train when we dropping rain.

    I wish the average American knew what these young men do and how complex it can be.
    The amount of responsibility put on their shoulders for their age. Most ppl couldn’t grasp it

      I think it’s extremely important for people to have a good understanding of what day to day life is like especially when considering joining

      @@kagan.dunlap i was a 0341 when i was enlisted and an 0802 as an officer. so i even enjoyed it, remembering the days when i could still fit in my blues.

      I was in 1st LAR. We had two LAV-M Variants. It was cool, but the Company Commander was an

      Yes Sir. I was in both Weapons Co and a Line Co. i spent time in 3/2, Marne Barracks Philippines, 1/5, 3rd FSSG, and 1st LAR. I was in almost 13 years.
      I miss it.

    Is it harder to deploy mortars on a deployment than in the fleet?

      I would say no however that also depends on the type of deployment and location and for what purpose they’re being used

      He explained the question, and then the response was just another description of the question.
      But such is the Marine Corps, not often, Marines are allowed to answer a question with their own opinion and observation.
      Like meritorious boards, you get asked a question by a superior and your response begins with repeating the question then the answer is a MCO, standard, regulation, but never from personal observation or personal opinion. Some get stuck in the game.
