Absolutely great song Don Dokken has a powerful voice great song writer, one my favorite Dokken song the late 80s was the best decade for heavy metal rock n rock music.😎🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸🎸🌹🌹❤️❤️🏋️🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🎸🎸🌹
Me and my wife loves this song we have been married for 28 years today I'm 50 my wife is 55 we love each other so much 20 more years is going to be coming up and then some
The first time I ever see Dokken was at Fireworks over Central New York .He was great .and at the end of the show I got a wonderful Photo of Don Dokken and my Husband . That made it a good night and my Husband a happy man a show we will never forget. And made me a Dokken Fan forever.
+AngelofAnguish Bought the Dokken Vhf Video and my sister made fun of me after the Breaking the Chains vid! I remained proud though!!! Can't steal my passion!!! :)
+shoftim Glad to "hear" it-and MORE POWER TO YOU! As far as ANYONE ridiculing your passion for "old school" rock/metal music, just remember: As long as YOU enjoy it, then that's ALL THAT COUNTS or MATTERS!
Oh I can't ever forget Dokken- my baptism my first heroes. George Lynch I can't forgive him calling his own band Lynch Mob although knowing George is a cool guy he did it for a swipe and a joke, but I honestly feel Dokken are one of the most brilliant and wonderful bands there ever will be. Seeing this hearing this it makes me joyous, but at the same time it's hard to hold back the tears. I was 12 then. I'm 38 now and gave up the guitar and became a vocalist (self taught!) I loved Dokken then and will love them for the rest of my life and in my afterlife I also will love them. It's like we're brothers me and the whole band crazy coz we never met, but it's the music that makes it that way. They are so special. Basically, Dokken are a European band on American soil they have that darkness to them- a real sense of danger. Also check out the band Alien from Sweden, but constant line up changes ruined their chances for success. In order to achieve success a band has to treat each other with a lot of respect and when Dokken had their big falling out it was awful. I read all the back and forth and there were one or two guys who wanted to keep the band alive, but George was getting really angry about the length of his solos and wanting to get bluesier. I think that was a mistake, but he will never lose his magical guitar genius. Don is great- they all are. I love all four of them. You see, after the dreadful murder of John Lennon I was so traumatized I couldn't listen to The Beatles for a decade and Dokken were at that tender and tough time for me MY BEATLES. I think that sums up how strong my bond is with them.
I too am a big fan of 80's music. When I was in high school the hard rock/metal scene was the BOMB!!!!!! back in the day Where I live at in Baltimore we had 2 HARD ROCK/METAL stations in the mid 80's (98 ROCK WIYY-FM & 97 UNDERGROUND WHVY-FM) and both stations kicked ASS!!! back then between '83 to '91 but then later the format changed a bit on 98 ROCK anf they started playing more stuff like ALICE IN CHAINS, 9 INCH NAILS, ETC.... and I wad at a lost 4 words when they did that then later on 97 UNDERGROUND did a complete 180 and went a different way musically. It's a good thing now I got SIRUS/XM RADIO so now I can listen to that era of music that gave me a reason to live and FACE THE DAY like in the classic GREAT WHITE song.I'LL BE ROCKING IT to my grave also when I am old.I'M 45 NOW and proud to have listen to this era of music.LONG LIVE 80'S HARD ROCK & HEAVY METAL. On a lighter note we are NOT OLD just more in touch with the music that was our soundtrack to life and those songs to me will always be timeless. PEACE OUT ALL!!!!!!!
George Lynch and Randy Rhoads were friends too. It was George who introduced Karl Sandoval to Randy. Randy was so impressed he had Karl build him the polka dot Flying V he played while he was with Ozzy
Those were the days of the greatest rock bands ever. Dokken was so under-appreciated. Personally, I thought Don Dokken was brilliant, charismatic and they wrote some of the best rock love songs, ever. This one being one of the finest. I hate this shit they call music today. I guess I'm old-fashioned now because I'll stay with the music that's proven itself over time. I have every Dokken album, CD and tape, they will always be with me until my last breathe.
Fayde Dnamron Even though I'm 44, I, TOO, love Dokken and A LOT of the other '80s metal stars! You? Old fashioned? In my opinion, just because you like "old school" music (like me), that doesn't mean or make you "old fashioned!" In fact, in my opinion, you're exercising "freedom of choice!" I, TOO, can't stand (so-called) modern bands! For me, the modern music "flatlines!" In my opinion, the '80s bands helped us, the fans, escape the strains and demands of everyday life! In fact, in my opinion, fans, like myself, are or have been inspired, by the "old school" bands to be DIFFERENT, be UNIQUE, and how to BE RECOGNIZED, in life. Just think, it's 2015 and this song came out in 1988 (or '89?) and, TO THIS DAY, we're STILL, "having a great time with it!"
I just celebrated my 57th birthday yesterday, May 2, and I'm still rockin out to this very damn day and will go out of this world rockin in the rocking chair. LOL! I'm pretty young for 57 though. Most people think I'm 40 something. That's a hoot. It's good to know much younger fans like yourself appreciate the brilliance of Dokken.
+Fayde Dnamron (Whitewraithe) George Lynch is a brilliant guitarist and can easily be compared with EVH on any day. Dokken was an amazing band it is a shame that Don's voice is really shot now.
Actually, Don is back on top of his game and sounds better than ever. Surf YT for his latest appearance at the Whiskey-a-Go-Go about a month ago. Don also recently recovered from cancer but he kept going even when he sounded really terrible. You gotta give the guy some kudos for that; exposing his weaknesses in public, but Don has always been there for the fans. On the other hand GL was/is a brilliant guitarist, but his ego was bigger than his talent; IMHO that is a destructive combination.
Interesting that the Boston Fire Department provided one of its apparatus for the video. They also had to provide two firefighters, as you would need a trained operator to steer the rear of the ladder truck ( you have to steer the back the opposite direction of that which the front is being steered)
Damn! I just love the whole Back For The Attack album. Dokken at their pinnacle. Just sorry the personal animosity between Dokken and Lynch destroyed a epic band.
ALL Hair bands are good. Even Poison & Cinderella. I am A TRUE Zeppelin fan & It don't matter. Also, the biggest Ratt fan ever. Who said you can't like it all? God? No one is going to tell ME who I can & can't like!!!!! So, BITE ME if this offends you!!!!!! MEOW!!!!!
True Dokken fans do NOT like Poison, Cinderella or (and especially) Bon Jovi. The Dokken sound is akin to fans of Led Zeppelin, Rush, Ozzy`s first two albums, not saying they sound the same, saying the musical tastes of a Dokken fan would go to a Scorpions, Van Halen, Rainbow or Yngwie concert before being caught dead at a Warrant concert. lol
Did you notice the "lol" at the end? That`s called "jest". I see by you using name calling and insults who the 10 year old here is. It is all in jest, not to be taken seriously. It`s ok however, you`re typical and I can appreciate that. Do you really mean this is the dumbest thing you have ever heard, really? is that to be taken literally? Ok, enough time wasted here.
This is my favorite Dokken rock song - Burning Like a Flame

❤Happy Birthday Don Dokken❤
This song is fun to play on the bass and drums
A true Dokken fan
George Lynch and Warren DeMartini of Ratt were once room mates. That may be why they are the 2 greatest guitar players.
George Lynch and Randy Rhoads were friends too. It was George who introduced Karl Sandoval to Randy. Randy was so impressed he had Karl build him the polka dot Flying V he played while he was with Ozzy
Yeah BABY!!!!!!!!!!!
Another classic Dokken song, and another bizarre Dokken video. :)

it's good
