You can’t tell me you trust Torrens more than Alvarez in a big spot regardless of the numbers recently. I’d still take my chances with Alvarez in that spot
Diekman has been in MLB for 13 years and 600+ innings. Are you sure that was his best inning ever thrown? I think he had a better inning in 2013, when he was with Philly.
McNeil is owed $35M+. Because baseball is a business, he is not a trade candidate. McNeil said, in his post-game interview, he changed his approach the 1st game in PIT against Skenes(July 5). He hit a HR off Skenes in that game and has batted .293 w/1.080 OPS since that game...10 games before the AS break.
The Mets got rid of worse salaries last year they’ve shown they’re willing to pay to get rid of bad contracts and a good few weeks or not that’s a bad contract if the Mets play enough a team will take a flyer on McNeil
Last 15 games:
Torrens .267 AVG, .742 OPS
Alvarez .217 AVG, .555 OPS
That's why Alvarez didn't pinch hit.

Judge didn't swing because he is not good in Late/Close situations.
Judge's Late/Close stats:
2024 .214 AVG
2023 .172 AVG
