Can I analyze your video for "You Make Me Feel Like It's Halloween" and make my own video? I just noticed something about their metaphors and symbolism and wanted to give it a try.
this album was so great! Guys, you make beautiful music! Butterflies and hurricanes, Stockholm syndrome, Endlessly, Sing for absolution and most fav one: Hysteria. ALL BLOODY MASTERPIECES!
I fell in love with this band listening to Time is running out. When I bought Absolution, my head exploded. I couldn't believe how good it was. A master piece.
Same here! Fall in love with this band with Time is running out! When I listen to Absolution, I couldn’t believe how good it was! Still my favorite album. My first tattoo (and only for now) is inspired by Butterflies and Hurricanes.
I've started listening to Muse in November 2022, I fell in love with Chris' way of playing bass and decided to buy one, now im in a band as a bassist. thanks guys
i listened for the first time about 13/14 too. when I was in junior high school. and now, I just turn 35. supermassive black hole is stuck always in my mind😂
I remember the first time I heard Stockholm Syndrome, can't describe what I felt at that moment but I went direct to the record store and buy the album, my head exploded!! What a powerful, deep and beautiful record, an absolute masterpiece.
Muse have made a lot of great albums and songs since then, but to me, this is THE gold standard and the one to beat. This is where the stars aligned, the right people were involved and time was right. From beginning to end, flawless. Melodically, compositionally, technologically, a masterpiece. Thank you Matt, Dom and Chris!
This is why we keep asking for the old muse. This is part of our lives. It's part of our soul. Part of every memory. It's in our veins in our blood. I've seen this video from the DVD Muse absolution tour and it keeps reminding me how much Muse gave so much effort in creating this Masterpiece album. How much dedication how much patience given to be able to produce these pieces of music. Each song has a fingerprint Each song has a meaning behind it. Has a story behind it. Our childhood our Teens and as adults. This album is everything and capsulate Muse work and performance and genuis. Thank you Muse for this album.
Exactly four years ago, when I was walking with my friend in the backstreets of Istanbul; I heard a familiar melody coming from a University Festival. Although I had heard, but never listened to your music with too much attention before, I immediately recognized the song to be Hysteria. That is how I really met you for the first time; just by coincidence, just because I was walking past that alley at the same time the university band was playing Hysteria. For some reason it stuck with me for the rest of the night. This, combined with the following hours of that faithful evening turning out to be the one of the worst moments of my life resulted in me listening to Hysteria non-stop for 3 days straight . Thats how it started. Now four years, many even worse nights, a law degree and a couple of thousands of listening hours, you have become one of the most important aspects of my life. I have burried some kind of meaning and memory to every track of you in this period. You helped me get out of depression, start playing guitar, find a job and simply keep existing. I just can't express enough how thankful I am for your music. Thinking that all of this was possible just because I happened to come accross your music by pure chance still wonders me. Choosing to walk in that backstreet may be one of the best decisions I have ever made. Thank you. Thank you for being a major part in my life and helping me grow. Thank you for allowing me to re-live those memories I burried inside your songs. Thank you for keeping me alive.
2023 heard Mercy on the radio, went crazy searching YT for that group, finally found MUSE! No other band can ever replace their body of work! They are magnificent! Muser for life!
I'm excited for those people just discovering Muse, I feel like they've been ever present in my life since I was 18, I'm now 39. The first time I saw them live was in 2004 on the Absolution tour, at Earl's Court. I've been hooked ever since...

Back in the 2000s, Absolution was my safety blanket against bullying by some of my middle school classmates. I really do think I would't be there today without this album. But "This life could be the last, and we're too young to see", right? Thank you for everything, Muse.
I still get chills listening to the Absolution album. I was in 7th or 8th grade I think when my older sister brought this album home. Had never heard of Muse. I didn’t truly listen to it until about a year or two later in high school, but I remember the feeling I felt when first heard their music, absolute transcendence. I was blown away, taken to another psychological space, and I knew in that moment, Muse was something special. Muse instantly became one of my favorite bands, and the rest is history. To this day, I still believe Absolution is their greatest album. Thank you for existing.
I find it somewhat less consistent than either Origin of Symmetry or Black Holes, but it is a very good album with a ridiculously high percentage of stellar tracks.
@@cemre3727 one of my favorites as well. it is more of a psychedelic and jazz rock rather than their typical prog rock, i wonder when would they make an anniversary remix for it
I started listening to you guys when I was 11, it’s been such a good ride, I’m 27 now and I never get bored of you, you are a huge huge part of my life, you don’t even know, you’ve been in my absolute best and worst, I love you guys, thank you for your music, best band ever🎉❤
Chris is a fantastic bassist, both in grounding out the guitar musically and the frontman emotionally. Very important role in the longevity of the band. See Relient K's making of "Forget and Not Slow Down" as a good example of this as well. Also love how Matt records on the laser guitar, with the lights off so you can hear the record. He really never leaves the mood out of the equation, it seems. Even them eating dinner by candlelight backstage: super moody. And Dom never seems to stop drumming.
From radio plays of Uprising, to the soul wrenching arpeggios and wails in Bliss, to my first MUSE album buy of The 2nd Law, Matt's vocals have always moved something deep in me. MUSE will always be my no. 1. Thanks for getting me through the rough ugly parts of my formative years guys🤙🔥
I went to a kroq festival Inland Invasion in 2004. I tell you no lie as soon as they started their set I was became hypnotized by their sound. I instantly fell in love with the band and went out the next day and bought their album, I have been a fan since. I've only been able to see them a few times but everytime i go i take my kids with me and they absolutely love them too.
In 2005 when I barely had Internet I illegally downloaded "Stockholm Syndrome" and I thought that was a Thom Yorke's new band project. Because the vocals sounded kind of similar to me. It did not mention the name of the band. Just the title track and some random numbers on it. I liked it inmediately, because it was heavy, raw and fast. Very opposite to Yorke's regular music. Weeks later I knew that the track was related to a band called "Muse" and I downloaded all their discography at the time (Showbiz, OOS and Absolution). And the rest is history. "Absolution" is still my favourite record of them.
After reading the interview from the XX Anniversary book, this documentary feels different. They all look so happy here, but at the time the world was filled with fear and uncertainty (aftermath of 9/11, Iraq war...), they were struggling with their labels and management team, Chris fell into his alcohol addiction, Matt was paranoid and started losing his mind...
I’ve started electric guitar with them. A student forgot Absolution CD in the music classroom in 2003. My teacher said this was a great discover to him and decided to teach me TIRO. Since, i’ve seen Muse 10 times in live, and listened a thousand times this album. And i didn’t talk about others albums and the custom guitar i have ahahh!
The first time I listened to your music was at Leeds Fest 2006. The following day I bought all 4 albums. 17 years and 18 gigs later you’re still a part of me. I met my two best friends because of Muse. It’s weird, the band, fans, we all move through this life together and we will all move out of it roughly together. It’s a generational unity that is difficult to describe. Keep going boys, we’ve been with you since then and we’re coming with you to the end.
I remember this documentary so well... I think it was published on DVD or so? 😂 Fan since 2000, gosh I'm old. But it's so wonderful to grow up with a band like Muse!
Love how they laughed about playing arenas as if that were only going to be a dream, and now they've been playing stadiums for years! 🙌 I was there to see you play Wembley Stadium in 2007, and been to 19 other live gigs in the US and UK. Cheers from California! 🙌❤
Just INCREDIBLE. The thought and care that goes into their productions, the trial and error to make perfection (in my opinion). Ruled by secrecy is my favourite song on this planet. I love being a fan and these moments that make you relive the initial experience of their music all over again..
From the first album when I was only 18, until today I am 42, there is no other band that keep giving phenomenal MUSIC. Everytime I listen to each song, randomly there is always something new in my ears. I was over the moon when I finally get to see them live in Kuala Lumpur last July. Asian fans needs more live concert!!! Muse is Music, Muse is not a band, its a genre on its own. Love you guys endlessly ❤❤❤
I love that you say Blackout. Because, I saw them on Roskilde 2004 when they were touring for Absolution. And when they started playing Blackout I cheered so hard because that was my favourite song. But I was the only one that cheered in the entire Arena. I guess people didn't know the track back then.- Also I haven't really seen, even to this day, people list Blackout as one of their favourite until now.
I mean almost 17 years listening to you guys and 12 concerts. I have meet you in person but everytime you bring something for us I instantly fall in love with 😍 thanks Muse for saving my life with your music and art 🤤
I just realized, at 15:05 Hysteria has the synth bass sound but no bass guitar layer underneath. Probably setting it up for Chris to follow along with on his bass guitar.
Very thankful this footage a d documentary exists. So fun to see the lightening in the bottle being captured. Been a massive fan since the album first came out. One of my favorite albums ever.
I have some very profound and deep core memories of this album when it came out that literally shaped me as the person I am today. VERY excited to watch this!
I've seen Muse live twice, and they will always be one of my all-time favourite bands. Matt Bellamy as a composer , guitarist, and vocalist, is a massive influence to me . I'm a guitarist and learnt many of their songs in highshcool :) ! His style of composition is so special to me. Chris' bass playing knocks my socks off, and Dom's drumming is sensational! As a musician myself, I want to create my own music thanks to Muse and the many other bands I love. Thank you, Muse, for creating heartwarming, inspiring, and beautiful music that touches my soul! Watching Matt play 26:10 guitar like a maniac always makes me smile !
Muse was the reason I started played drums My first was Time Is Running Out, then Hysteria. From then it's a roller coaster of masterpieces. Please keep rocking muse!
Truly a brilliant documentary. I appreciate the natural sound flow of editing. This film captures the excellence and sophistication of three top artisans while creating an unparalleled album. ✨🔥
Back in october 2022 i was in a car ride with my mom, i was talking to her about this guy i had a crush on and how he was a metalhead but i didnt listen to metal becuse i really didnt like It, and my mom turned on the radio and then said: "well, this Is the most 'agressive' thing i listen to" and put on hysteria. I immidiatly felt taken back to when i was a child becuse of the familiar melody that ive certanly eard before, and i fell in love with Matt's vocals so i asked mom what the song and band named were and immidiatly listened to them on Spotify the next day. Muse Is the first band ive ever fell in love with and i dont think id be such a music fan without them
My sister introduced me to Muse. I was already an adult in college, but she’s 10 years younger than me and was a tween at the time. Her way of discovering new music was through RUclips and one day I happened to be at my parents house and she played me the video to Time Is Running out.
man, my midterm for my history of rock and roll class was to write a 6 page essay on a topic pertaining to rock music. if this had come out on youtube earlier, i definitely would've done it on Muse. one of my favorite bands of all time.
I fell in love with Muse when I was at college, their music has helped me through so much and I was so lucky to see them live. They are a band that I will always listen too and have memories from their music ❤
I don't want to be the fan that is screaming for old muse, but you have to admit they were pushing the boundaries and creating music that was unheard at that time. It carried into Black holes and revelations, but from there it just seriously declined. I feel that getting older, life changes such as family, success, etc played a huge part in losing the drive and ambition that made this album so special. The last album, I couldn't even get through. It felt like too many influences coming together to make something, nothing of substance, just something. Absolution was a rally cry, a call to arms almost. It was beautiful, emotional, empowering...I just have so many words that the album made me feel and become a Muser for life and go back in the catalogue that cemented the fact they were doing this way before Absolution. I think I know most fans my age around this time, understand me. New fans, they will never get it. Because they didn't experience that transcendent way in which they took you on a journey with this album. Hysteria should be a masterclass for bass led songs. Butterflies and Hurricanes should showcase how classical music IS and will always be rock and roll. @muse, I know you will never read my comment. But please, don't let the fire that used to be burning during this album go out. Or if you feel that it is still burning, just differently - then just understand and respect why old Musers miss you guys from the early to mid 2000's. I'll always be a top fan, but I think life may have changed the direction of content to sing about. Success changes everyone. I think the way it changed this band was it's removal from the path it was blazing.
A fan of Muse since I was 13 when Supermassive black Hole was released and played at Festival Bar in Italy. Now I'm 31 and still thinking that your uniqueness is more than music, it's a sophisticated art in general, and a therapy in personal. Thank you for existing.
I remember watching this 'Documentary' contemporaneously (Did it come with certain editions of the album?). Only a few years younger than the band, we'd loved Showbiz and Origins and suspected that Muse had an end-of-the-world Opera in them. Maybe I'm getting old, but for me they've never been stronger than on Absolution...
You will always be forever in my heart. Your creativity and artistic abilities are just perfect. I've seen you live twice and you never cease to surprise me. I've made friends because of your music. Your songs have been with me during the majority of my life. Thank you so much for creating authentic art
I've seen Muse live few times, in Europe and US. Their live performance is always amazing, a carefully thought-out ensemble. And it always keeps getting better!
You are the ones who inspired me to play the piano again, now I'm learning songs that I found impossible to play earlier. You gave me emotions I never felt before. Seeing you live was an amazing experience, and I can't wait to go to your concert again. Thank you for all that you do to us, Muse.
Its almost been exactly a year since I first began to listen to Muse and they've honestly been such a fun and good band. Absolution is my favorite album so this really is just so great!
In this documentary I can see the reason why my most beloved songs of Muse are done with Rich Costey. Thank you for uploading this documentary, it’s been ages since I last saw it and it’s a shame you’re not making documentaries about the recording process anymore
Been a fan for 10 years (was still a kid). My favourite album/ songs kept changing as I was growing. But finally, after all these years i have to say: Absolution is the with no doubt the best Muse album! Such a rollercoaster of emotions! We're waiting for an ABSOLUTION TOUR!!! (I'm from Portugal so you have to come here i dont care)
I've known Muse since I was in elementary school. But I've been listening to all of Muse's albums since the death of Chester Bennington. I felt devastated and confused about what band to listen to, then I remembered muse and tried to listen to all their albums and I just realized that their songs are very good and suitable for my ears. When Muse had a concert in Malaysia, I couldn't make it. I hope one day Muse will have a concert in Indonesia because it's been 16 years since their previous concert in Indonesia. I hope Muse and the team read this.
I have two observations to make about the documentary. Fury's last chorus should be like the version they did on Campo Pequeno. (7:33 - 7:53) In fact, the back vocals are similar but they shouldn't be back vocals. And in Sing for Absolution that spectacular section before the solo (31:50 - 32:12) should also be in the song.
It seems like yesterday... A little Italian girl listen to Absolution and Meteora from LP. It was 2004 and you two both, changed my life and my perception of music, sensations and way to see the world. Thank you with all my heart. Still here, like always🔥

Love how they laughed about playing arenas as if that were only going to be a dream, and now they've been playing stadiums for years! 🙌 I was there to see you play Wembley Stadium in 2007, and been to 19 other live gigs in the US and UK. Cheers from California! 🙌❤
This album shaped my music taste. It's where it all started. Thank you for this masterpiece :)
this band means the world to me
Just INCREDIBLE. The thought and care that goes into their productions, the trial and error to make perfection (in my opinion). Ruled by secrecy is my favourite song on this planet. I love being a fan and these moments that make you relive the initial experience of their music all over again..
I just stumbled across Thoughts of a dying atheist one day. Looked up the band. And here we are, 20 years later and still a huge fan
First time listened to them was wen I was 12 back in 2001 now I’m 33 and still loving listening to muse. Absolution was their best album.
24:27 I love the fact that at this time, this was just another song they were recording for the album and it completely changed their lives.
this gives me chills...
This is the best band. Been listening since I was a kid and this is the best album they've made!!! Love that they made a short documentary about it
Fury ,blackout ,stockholm syndrome, thoughts of a dying athiest some of the best muse songs
Album terfavorit!! Sebuah MASTERPIECE.. thanx muse, kalian menemani masa2 mudaku, bahkan smpai sekarang 🔥🔥
We saw WOTP in Toronto in March and a second time in Glasgow this past June. MUSE in Glasgow will be hard to beat as the best concert I’ve ever seen!
Muse Absolution XX Anniversary comes out on my birthday!
@@WhisperAudiosASMRyou're so lucky!! 🎉
Muse was the reason I started played drums
My first was Time Is Running Out, then Hysteria.
Muse Is the first band ive ever fell in love with and i dont think id be such a music fan without them
Thank you MUSE for your music!!!
What a masterpiece album! I wanna cry just remembered the 1st time i’ve heard the album 😢
I fell in love with Muse when I was at college, their music has helped me through so much and I was so lucky to see them live. They are a band that I will always listen too and have memories from their music ❤
Hard to believe how much work stands behind each Muse music masterpiece
still one of the absolute BEST albums of ALL time, just beautiful from start to finish
best experience in my whole life
This is gold, I love you Muse, I love you guys.
every Muse albums is masterpiece
Music is a sacred language.
A fan of Muse since I was 13 when Supermassive black Hole was released and played at Festival Bar in Italy. Now I'm 31 and still thinking that your uniqueness is more than music, it's a sophisticated art in general, and a therapy in personal. Thank you for existing.
after a long time it is officially released!!!
A MASTERPIECE.
Time is running out was the first song I heard from Muse. Fell in love instantly with the band and lot other songs
One of the best albums by any band , superb from start to finish 10/10
My all time favourite muse album. Absolution is so heavily influenced by classical music, which made MUSE the iconic sound for me
Perfect album. Always love watching how Muse approach the recording process
the fact that this is only the surface and there are lots they've been through in making this album
Absolution is perfect ❤ My favourite album of all time.
This was the album that made me fall in love with muse back when I was 13. It's guided my music taste ever since and I'm incredibly thankful
Hope you get back to this sound when muse was my favorite band
thank you guys for this present, i still have my absolution CD and i will save it forever
I love MUSE 🤘🏻
Iuran yuk buat ngundang Muse 😂
I have two observations to make about the documentary. Fury's last chorus should be like the version they did on Campo Pequeno. (7:33 - 7:53) In fact, the back vocals are similar but they shouldn't be back vocals.
And in Sing for Absolution that spectacular section before the solo (31:50 - 32:12) should also be in the song.
It seems like yesterday... A little Italian girl listen to Absolution and Meteora from LP. It was 2004 and you two both, changed my life and my perception of music, sensations and way to see the world. Thank you with all my heart. Still here, like always🔥
OOS, Absolution and BHAR...those 3 albums are what makes me love this band and i grew up with those 3...i hope they make something like that again
