You can see in many parts of this interview how great Matt is as a person. Chill, humble respectful man.
He is the BEST! I met him just under a month ago... never gonna shut up about that 🤣
omg, where did you meet him?? tell the details, did u talk to him?
@@alisayakovenko8826 yes it was one of the most amazing moments of my life 😂 I was in Camden in London and he saw me wearing a simulation theory shirt and said "nice shirt" I was totally oblivious and it took me a second to comprehend that he was in front of me. I swear I didn't even know where I was 😭😭 we did speak but I was useless and in shock so I just said dumb stuff.
@@selinaodedra9516 omg... I would have done the same!! That's so cute he said that!!
Anyone would think a celebrity wouldn't just give you a persona or their best self in an interview, you don't know him, stop idolising
Matt is so modest I sometimes wonder if he ever actually realises how awesomly talented he really is. Honest modest and humble , what a great guy a supreme professional and a total legend.
Oh I'm sure he knows, but he's a gentleman with it
Matt is one of the musical genius of our generation! Im so glad a band like MUSE is holding the flag in the rock gender. Long live MUSE!!!
Did you perhaps mean "the rock genre"?
@@bigbroiswatchingyou2137 no, the rock gender. My pronouns are rock/on
They're a cheesy rock band. Much better stuff out there.
@@moonillusions832 u call it cheesy but I call it theatrical/operatic. They have some pretty grand sounding songs and I sure dig it.
@@dianeaishamonday9125 hahahaha there you go.
Matt is so humble that he hesitates (?) to take the compliment the interviewer gives to him and Muse as a whole and will talk about other musicians. Like, Maaan! you guys have done amazing to make your dreams come true. Take a compliment is not a crime. I'll give tons of compliment to Muse if I meet them someday!
Been a fan since 99
Every album is different from the last. They don't do albums to please everyone but as artists play and create songs that challenge them and challenge us
Long live muse
Matt is so sweet and humble. Love that he mentioned Ryder when talking about his kids.
This interview could've been 10 hours longer and I still would've listened to the end. Amazing conversation.
Matt est très cultivé réaliste instruit et en plus de son talent musical voix sublime parfaite enfin il est tout à ma fois brilliant et les éloges continue
i love to see a long zane and matt interview thank god
Remember they're both starting from the same year, coming from the same sheep country, they both understand farming 😂
It’s always great to get to hear a snippet of what’s going on in Matt’s mind. He’s brilliant.
It s true... Hearing him Speak, so fast, makes you realize how much is goin om in his mind and needs to be told... That s a prerogative of Geniuses... And it shows quite obvious, whenever he starts to sing or play whatever instrument he wanna play... I cannote say i m a hige Muse fan, although i like alot of stuff they didc... But it s clear like the blue sky, that they are absolutely relevant today, mpre than they were when they started... We need good music done with heart and mind 💚
I actually had to slow down a couple parts of this interview which I never have to do! So quick!
Matt should be knighted for his pure genius of songwriting, singing and instruments. Total class 👌
He is the best at what he does. Definitely the most talented musician in his genre
Singing and instruments sure but his songwriting is all over the place lol
Would a knighthood be part of an institution he'd agree with I wonder?
@@thee2724 that’s because of the ghost writers 😂
That would be the best way to lose all credability Bowie never accepted any knight hoods or decorations
I just am so grateful that the lead singer in my favourite band is also an amazing human being. I love his interviews, I just feel better after watching them.
🤘🏻🤘🏻🎸🎸🌹
Same, there are too many great artists(not just musicians, also in the film industry, etc.) who make great works of art that I love, and it pains me when I learn something terrible bout them( Roger Waters, Alfred Hitchcock, Eric Clapton etc.) I am happy to see that so far all 3 Muse members still seem like amazing human beings even after achieving fame & fortune) I hope I never learn anything remotely sinister about these guys.
I love Matt Bellamy and Muse so much. The greatest three piece rock band. Pound for pound three of the most talented musicians of their generation.
Oui je suis de votre avis
I love how Zane literally spent a five minutes trying to get Matt to agree that he came out being amazing on early on, and Matt genuinely could not accept that. He is so true and honest and humble. I love how Matt and Zane can talk on the same level with a great back and forth. Also LOVE how much Zane makes Matt laugh. "
Can you just imagine Matt and his son driving to school with Slipknot blasting haha
“Have a good day at school, son!” 🤣
As well as being talented, insightful and intelligent, Matt comes across as a genuinely nice man.
Matt is very humble and fun..intelligent and brave. He mentioned something that most people wouldn't feel comfortable speaking about at this time.
PLEASE enable subtitles on this. It's pretty hard for me as a Muse fan whose english is not on a native level to figure out what you fast-paced speakers say at times.
@@aleMuse79 So true!
Future tip is to put it on 0.75 speed
@@henrywalton5967 I bet it's really enjoyable listening to 2 drunk guys with a broken sound quality
Well ok, nicely politically correct interview ... but you can tell they didn't hit "THE TOPIC" explicitly, but just beating around the bush a bit ...
Innit?
I just love how he is as a person. He's such an amazing singer but still stays humble...
What a brilliant man, Bellamy is. I love his kindness and clarity as regards politics. Great talent.
Matt is such a nerd i love him
I think we should also talk about how great of an interviewer Zane is. His relationship with Muse (they basically started at the same time then became sucessful) is always so great to see since they knew each other for a long long time now, it always leads to interresting (and funny) conversations. They truly look like nice and clever guys.
Exactly. Don't get me wrong, Matt is a grat person and it's always really nice to hear what he has to say bu it was Zane who gave this interview its flow, rhythm and pace. It just looked like two freinds getting together, really wanting what each other is going to say. 48 minutes, seemed like 5.
@@Michelek36 It is HIS Role as a Radio/Podcast Host to give "the flow" or whatever youre calling it of ANY interview he is doing...That's his job, he is paid for it....
@@jeromelange7401 and it was a job very well done. I appreciate professionalism, don't you, Jerome?
@@jeromelange7401 yeah and ? even if it's job, he does it well unlike some others interviewers. is it wrong to appreciate someone's work even if "they're paid for it" ?
Great discussion. I feel extremely grateful that my favorite band from childhood is still together and still outdoing themselves with every album.
Always amazes me just who clever Matt Bellamy really is. He’s got a very unique mind! And he, along with Chris and Dom are behind some of the greatest music ever made 🙌🏻 Always have been, always will be a massive fan of Muse 🙌🏻
Lu et approuvé 🙏👏👍🎸
The music and lyric speaks for itself. We the people hear you and thank you Muse. Much love to humanity. We're going to need it.
I could listen to these two have a conversation for hours, I'm fascinated with how Matt's brain works. So well-spoken.
This Interview inspires me to write a poem (It's a long time ago I wrote something). So basically Matt was my Muse 😂 Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us ❤
Can’t tell you guys how good Matt and his band sounds live. Highly recommend!
I appreciate how he's so grounded in values, in truth, knowledge, skill, humility, and authenticity. Speaks volumes, and I can't help but be impressed and amazed by the man he's become from over the years. Incredible and inspiring as a musician and a person! Thank you all, and thank you Zane for being such a talented and intellectual interviewer!!!
Also... THE MUSIC THO!!!!! 😱❤❤❤👍
Muse is best live band of our generation! Best live shows!
Radiohead exists lol
There are so many amazing live bands around today, and Muse is definitely one of them! However my personal favorite is The Flaming Lips and I have a near-full concert video I recorded at a show in Ohio earlier this year on my channel. And I think I remember a Muse interview where they mentioned The Flaming Lips as an influence on their live show. Some other mindblowing live bands I've seen are Sigur Ros, Mono, and yes of course Radiohead!
@@moonillusions832 i didn't ask your opinion.
Muse is best stadium band period. Radiohead maybe good at intimate setting bit in stadiums Muse are kings
@@AlexaOleksa Muse is def up there in terms of live bands, but I’d put Coldplay higher. Theirs are otherworldly
You need to see Tool. Way better than Muse.
I think the point of this album is that there is no left and right, no fence between us. We're all united in the sense that we feel we're not being listened to
I think you nailed it . Left right we are not being represented we are being bought and sold . No one is listening we are closer to same than people are being led to believe. The only wall that was actually built is the wall separating Americans from each other !
Yup. People don't see they're being played though. They're a uniparty in all but name, they answer to the same group of "elite." They push division and hate so we fight among ourselves instead of focusing on the real cancer which is them.
I love Matt so much. Muse's music fills my heart and mind. If I could see them live every day, I'd be a happy girl. They just make me feel alive.
Matt is definitely one of my fave songwriters of all time. There are questions that I hope he could fully answer but the interviewer just cut him off *sigh
I'm just glad I decided to listen to Muse religiously last year. Definitely fell in love instantly. I feel they're still underrated despite all of their achievements. To me they're the latest great UK rock band that came in the past 25 years. Wish to see them live someday. Watching their live shows video is a bliss. What a great live band.
I love the striking difference between the your typical person, interviewer, whose mind is clearly in one of the boxes and complexity of Matthew’s thoughts, mixed with ever present kind desire to change. Hence why his music is so brilliant
Brilliant interview. Great conversations and great topics of discussion.
This man is so authentic and genuine. Appreciate him so much. ! Cheers Matt
I'm gonna do that thing too.... I saw muse play at a pub in Bristol, a few weeks before their first album came out.... Never heard of them before, went along and they blew my mind...
They're probably one of THE strongest bands ever I mean they've been releasing music for a VERY long time and they're still at it but not only that but they're still very much their own sounds because usually when a band goes for that long they tend to get lost with their sound and they tend to experiment and it sounds nothing like them but Muse have ALWAYS remained consistent with their sound and you can ALWAYS tell that it's them no matter which song plays.
It's also interesting that since the early days of the band, it's always the same three guys. It's very unusual for an almost 30 year old project to not experience a formation change at some point.
The past few albums of Muse are centered around politics on a dystopia.
This time around, it’s based on reality.
We have been in a steady collision course with this reality since 9/11.
Yup, the difference now is the audience coming to see and live the reality. People actually understand the Uprising lyrics now
@It's ok to be a nationalist Your channel name says it all. And I completely agree. It's interesting to now know who to blame for the state of the world (and the decline of western culture). It was soul crushing at first to fully realize that our history books have it completely opposite; but in a weird way, I've found a renewed interest in my passions and a drive to survive/succeed. I want to see the bad guys lose, and I will be a part of their defeat.
He's helped some young sleepyheads wake up and listen
Matt seems very insightful to what's going on and it's great to hear it if you're someone who can't speak with anyone else about it.
i waited for this interview for so loooooong and here it is.Thank you
Muse fan since 99 and all over their albums through the years. All the best for new LP Matt
Very intelligent person and intelligent musician, so happy he is implementing music from the classical romantic composers into his own stuff...the only music I listen to in my car is either classical or MUSE, comes to show how highly I think of them.
What a fantastic interview! Loved every minute of it. I saw Muse for the first time ever the other week at MK bowl in the UK after following them from the beginning but never being able to get a ticket or able to get to a show. I was totally blown away!
Need more Matt interviews in my life 😁👍
Great interview! Loved all the topics you talked about ❤️
And I can't wait to hear the album, i've liked all the singles so far :)
The fact that Matt is a Lady Gaga fan makes me love him even more…
That little KOBK cover by Zane in the beginning is hilarious
I love the 'seat with Gandalf on the ship to Valinor" reference! This is a great interview. Cheers!
I love both of these guys. Great conversation
I always look forward to these huge interviews between Matt and Zane, so amazing 💙
muse is finally back the new album is a return to form, best album since resistance
Thankyou for this interview, Muse have been one of the most consistently brilliant bands of the last 20 years and one of my favourites. I can’t believe this is the first time I have heard an interview with Matt, what a highly intelligent and grounded kind guy. So much respect ✊
A very nice interview. Zane and Matt have a great chemistry!
This is a Brilliant interview. Thanks so much 🙏
Matt Bellamy is everything! Loved this.
I haven't cried so much in an interview. Zane being a "pwoper" fanboy, Matt talking about family, Chomsky and Lady Gaga... and WOTP is just a magnificent low-prod album, something that showed us purely what is Muse now.
@Angie 🤘🏻🤘🏻🎸🎸🌹
Good interview. Matt on his best. Oh how I love Muse.
Favorite album? Instrumentally/Musicallity: Absolution blew me away
Emotionally: Showbiz appeased to my teenage angst and it hurt so good lol
Been a muse fan since I heard their 1st album when I was in college. I’m 39 now and they still make me bounce around like I did when was *slighlty* younger, ahem....
37, listening since 1999 as well, I feel you XD
Saw them at their 1st Belgian gig back in 99, as supporting act for the band Live. Went straight to the record store the day after. 45 now, but still feeling like the youngster back then when I hear a Muse - song.
Such a great interview, thanks for this!

such nice communique between the two and awesome energies rifting off of you awake and aware dare to prepare but with our thoughts we create the and our world/s'. Matt you are a memorable artist and Man, and the Interviewer/other communicator; is professional and down to earth about it all, hey,.
As if I needed more reason to love Matt, hearing him talk about the core of his music, other artists that influence him and even his willingness to talk about the political bend within the music really drove home more reason to be a Muse fan
Great interview, absolutely loved listening! I can't wait to see Muse live again and in PLYMOUTH!! 0.0

I saw that show with soul wax in Manchester at the academy, mega, loved both bands since then!
been waiting years for this podcast/book from matt.
What a class act - great interview
This interview was wonderful because it was just like two old friends (which they are) catching up with each other and that made this a joy to watch.
Muse have always been a very intellectual band, to me, because just how they talk about topics or music seems to be deeper then most I've heard. It's wonderful to know that what they write about is a subject they care about and wish to share with us.
Long may you reign Muse.🤘🏻😁
And a huge thanks to Zane for being so relaxing and creating a wonderful interview.👏🏻😃

Seems like a fascinating use of time to chat with Matt like this.
If Ghosts wouldn't have been on that album, I'd still miss it, without knowing it existed.

Saw Muse for the first time live in concert last night and…WOW. It’s not even a concert as it is an entire musical experience.
There was so much going on but it all made sense. Everything had its purpose to compliment Matt’s incredible live voice & the bands incredible live sound.
I almost feel like I underpaid for the tickets given how good and fulfilling the show was. Will see again 💯.
I saw them for the first time a few weeks ago, too, in Minneapolis! I paid for my friends ticket and told her if you cant pay me back it's fine, they were worth it to me!
oh for sure, I saw them in Montreal and they were great for such "cheap" ticket prices. Worth it
I've only ever seen Matts funny side, didn't realise how smart he is too. Was glued to this interview the whole way through 👌🏼
Only a very smart person could write these brilliant songs.
Matt is amazing.
Love the chat and thoughts on social media, I am similar age to them and feel the same.
Matt is a total top guy with great respect for him and he is truly a genius. tell the world.
Matt Bellamy what amazing person so much talent ....Matthew Bellamy was born in Cambridge and grew up for much of his life in Devon. While attending school there, he decided to turn to music and, after going through a number of band lineups, finally came to the one that is today known as Muse. Matt's fellow band members are Chris Wolstenholme (Bass) and Dominic Howard (Drums). He is a very talented musician who plays guitar and piano, writes nearly all the songs, is behind the string arrangements on their albums and has a good vocal range. He comes from a musical background as well. His father, George Bellamy, was a member of the instrumental band, The Tornados, who had a big-selling hit single in 1962 with "Telstar", which topped the charts both in America and the UK.
true genius of music, no doubt about it. their concert in Cracow was one of the best ones i've ever been to.
@🤘🏻🤘🏻🎸🎸🌹
Just saw them in Glendale AZ. All the musicality and theatrics... when Matt played that mysterious buzz lightyear-esque arm thing... the Iron Maiden level stage props... what a show! And it punctuated the best birthday weekend I've had yet! Lol like dayum, its only 36! What'd I do to deserve all this?! lol btw, I have a Muse piano songbook.. now, I'm a classically trained pianist with about 15 years of lessons under my belt... and suffice to say, Muse's music is HARD! lol
I’m looking forward to WOTP release tomorrow. Such a very informative i interview too . Great listening 🤘
I've heard the whole album and it's its great. Is it their best stuff though?... definitely not (IMHO)... but I LOVE it :)
I agree, it's not their best but certainly a very solid album
