Its amazing to hear you mention Sublogic. I used to be one of a group of users that did pre-release testing on their scenery disks. Still have all the complementary ones :)
Was only just born about then myself when the first one ever came out, started using 5.1 was when I started never stopped (is or are lol probably about 3 editions I had no idea about had been released since 5.1.
Great video! Man, things have sure changed since the days when I was a teenager playing with my Commodore 64 back in the early 80's.
Great video! I just bought a new PC mostly for X-Plane and your video is perfect at this moment.
thanks for watching
Nice job introduction to the basics. Great voice - easy to understand. Good job on the video. Thanks very much.
My biggest barrier is building a current flight sim rig that supports VR. It seems most of the stuff out there is generic VR rigs without taking into consideration flight sim.
A hardware video would be a huge help. Like how much RAM is needed, etc. I found your setting and 1080 Ti video helpful.
Thanks!
thanks for the suggestion. good idea.
"generic VR rigs without taking into consideration flight sim. "???
any pc with a i5-i7 processor with a 1070-1080 GTX for GPU and 8-16 or more RAM is enough for Flight sim.
If you want a good pc just build a high end pc, you dont need anything special for flight sim, your issue is VR, build a high end pc for VR. Flight sim is unrelated to building a pc.
Turtle I think my computer would be fine for this, but I'd like someone else's take;
I5-6600K
16GB DDR4 ram
GTX970
@0:31 wow, was that pic a blast from the past! I had that package, and i just found it in my mom's attic after we cleaned out their house. It's amazing how far things have come...
thanks for watching and sharing.
I flew real Cessna 172s. They are the gold standard for flight training from private pilot to instrument rating to cfi. It is an amazing plane and the most mass produced plane ever. This is excellent advice!
Excellent and to the point, much appreciated. Great info.
awesome Mark. glad it was helpful
is the software more stable than fsx boxed? as i got a lot of addons and not sure to swap to stem fsx and trasfer or start over WHAT YOU REKON?
Are you asking if XP 11 is more stable than FSX Boxed? or is FSX Boxed more stable that FSX Steam Version?
im asking will i still be unhappy to buy steam fsx and try mess about swapping all the addons or just start on a younger sim
sorry. not sure if you can swap add ons between boxed and steam FSX.
Glad I discovered your channel in my search for info on X-plane 11. I fly P3D for a couple of years but considering to make te switch to X-plane 11. Your video stands out among the many videos found on YT. Simple and clear explaination, clear voice with good audio quality. Gonna check out your other contributions to the sim world. A big thumbs up from the Netherlands !!!
wow. thanks Eddy. very nice of you to say. glad the vids have been helpful
Just to let you know that was the best intro video I've seen. Like you I've been Flight Simming sense the Sub Logic days. I'm turning 80yrs this Oct. Got all my Ratings. Even built my own Ultra Light Icarus IIB. Regular Flying got way to expensive so I turned to Flight Simming. Wished I would have started with X Plane 11 sooner. Learning how to operate Has been a challenge. The main challenge, right now, was nose wheel steering in the C172 . Getting it properly assigned so it will operate correctly. I think I have it now. Looking forward to watching your tutorials to get the most out of X Plane 11. I'm checking out the best Rudder Pedals for this sim. Keep up the great work.
@h lender thanks for your kind words. pretty cool that you built your own ultra light. PPL is a dream for me,, VR flightsimming is the next best thing I guess.. thanks for watching!
@@BamTechVids You are very welcome!
Easily the best flight sim Instructor with a lisp that ive ever seen. Keep up the good work sir!
X-Plane 12 is coming in about 2 to 3 years and when it does it WILL HAVE VOX ATC I ask them about this just the other day. Good Stuff. Good Stuff. This will help me and others with our real world ATC.
X Plane 11 supports Pilots Edge so you can have real ATC.
Oh yeah? I've been flying flight sim since commodore 64 days! LOL. Great to see a veteran on here. I'm about to embark on my xplane 11 journey as soon as HP finishes building my gaming rig.
Been confined to fsx since forever. Thanks for this beginners guide.
Awesome. Next step, VR flight simulation. It’s amazing
At about 5:10 when you are flying over Jersey City and you see the NYC skyline in the background was cool. I can see my apartment building in the video. Pretty cool!
Yep. I remember FSII. I had it on the old Atari XEGS and ST back in the late 1980s (1987-ish). I like X-Plane. I like flying the Junkers JU52 and sometimes DC3 (C47 Skytrain).
Excellent video sir, you would make a great real pilot! ✈️
Xplane now supports VR headsets😎😎😎
With full vive controller and occulus touch support. It's just amazing
But it's poorly optimized for VR so framerate is poor. Hopefully they optimize it soon and we will get full 90fps without 2x2080TI etc. machines..
And today even more
Wow
Thanks. As a total noob, after my first 15 minutes I was looking for a flight plan instructional. “Take off, proceed to 1800 feet, heading 270 to x-airport, land... return.” Is there something like that in X plane or elsewhere?
ATC gives you this kind of info
Great video! This really helps, i can’t wait to get it (i don’t have a pc powerful enough)
I got eternally hooked on flight simulators one late evening flying Chuck Yeager's Flight Simulator in Radio Shack. The manager let me fly way past closing time, I suppose, in hopes of me buying the computer. I nearly fell out of my chair while doing a maneuver flying between two "building". I've been a fanatic ever since.
As to SubLogic... ME TOO... A2-FS1 in 1981. I also have had X-Plane versions 5, 8, 9, 10, and now 11 but never managed to get into earlier versions but I am determined to master 11. Thanks for your insight! :)
His the 11 adventure going? I am broke so watch everybody's videos...can't wait to fly again someday
How's...
That was an excellent video man. Well thought out and informative. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for watching Nick. and for your kind words
I like this guy. Very professional
Very clear explanation!
I like the direction LR has taken in making XP11 more accessible to a wider audience, but there is much more they can do!!! One of my biggest barriers right now is rudder control and ground handling - I have no intention of using rudder pedals, and the built in auto-coordination is a joke. I bought the AFL 172, and it's not very useable for me right now. The other thing is time compression technology for long haul flights....another major setback.
Gracias sinior Bambino. That was VERY helpful. And its nice to see the HOTAS~controller (Flight stick) mappings in this game are how I have been asking for many years.
Wow! You are the single best commentary person EVER!
Great video. Thanks much.
thanks. glad it was helpful
thanks alot i have found all the answers i need right here thanks
Great video! Way to keep it simple
At last I installed X-Plane on my steam platform last year. After several years away from flight simulation(last used M/S FSX)And couldn't believe how NEW BOY I was I hope this site puts me back on track Fingers Crossed
steam hahaha big shit, internet speed need be wery fast if can fly good and fps have good. no newer, software need be offline not newer online.
EXCELLENT VIDEO !!!! It help me a lot.
This is the only video on youtube that is helpful
thanks for the kind compliment. glad it was helpful
Wow... I was thinking YT was the go to stage for mega talented people to show case what can be done on a spectrum of unlimited resources... perhaps you need to get out more?
Excellent informative video! Keep up the good work!
Thanks Larissa
I learned to fly real planes with that old sub logic flight sim!!! Boy does that take me back in time!!! That was back in the late 70's early 80's. We used floppy disk to load the programs...talk about old school!!! But it worked for me and a lot of other people too!! When you look at all the flight sims now and how realistic they are...WOW. The only thing missing is the bumping and the thumping in the the real planes!!! You know.... the WIND!!!!!
Ya,and I bet you had to pay out a pretty price on that floppy
My friend wanted me to play this so today I bought the game and a controller for it! Lol great guide
Great video, Thanks!
Great, well-made video - very helpful, thank you!
thank you. and thanks for watching
What a brilliant video for advice many thanks I have subscribed
very useful information. Thank you. Liked and subscribed
Great video! I just opened the boxes of my Logitech yoke...3 years after I purchased. 😊
Now, i can't figure out as to why the plane loses speed and crashes after take off. Help please!!
I've been flying MSFS for a few months now and it seems like a fine simulator but i am extremely disappointed in the frequent, non-stop "mandatory updates" that break the game and make it unplayable. Presently, MSFS has been trying to update for two days on my PC but it never finishes the update, which means i dont get to fly. Now im considering abandoning MSFS and switching to x plane 11 or x plane 12.
How different are these three platforms? Should i go for x plane 12 or 11?
Cheers man
I'm a little OCD so right off the bat I can't get past the prop being way too far left instead of centered in the cowl. That's a pretty major graffical glitch. I'm out.
Exactly the first thing I noticed too
lol ocd bish
Thanks Bambino!
Very great video thanks a lot.
🥺😳What I Can see now is that for all the Different 3rd party addons & Sceneries for XPLANE, (which are “SO...many”,...), they do slow down the “Frame Rates” for Lots of Flight Simmers !!! The “MS 2020 flight Sim” will Have the Advantages of effectively streaming Pedabytes of high quality Data for Mid to lower end Gaming PC’s, which is a HUGE FACTOR !!! 👍👍🤗✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️
Hey Bambino, did you ever play ATP way back then? Was great fun!
I see you like flying in pa alot that's awesome
Never mind X-Plane. FS2020 is here. But helpful video
Well, there's a trailer - but it's not here. Looks pretty but the wonky-jerky flight physics look a lot like FS2006. Waiting.
@@looseparts Point taken
Excellent video introduction for the coolest flight sim ever made!!😆😆😆😆😆
Well made video/guide mate.
thanks and thanks for watching
Thanks nice video.
To get help. I can't zoom out, the cockpit fills up my entire screen, I can't zoom out.
Thank you for the upload. Have never touched a flight sim despite being in my 40's. Was originally going to get FS-X bit been looking at this due to being more cost effective in the long term and taking advantage of multi core cpu and graphics cards. My long term goal is to learn to fly commercial airplanes like the 757 and do virtual cargo runs using a C-17 and C-130 Hercules. Is this the best option available for that type of stuff or would FS-X be more beginner friendly please?
Kev. thanks for watching. IMO X Plane 11 is far better the FSX. Flight characterics, real world nav/comns, integrated VR...
Thank you for the reply. Have tried FSX - SE and X Plane 11 demo. Right off the bat X Plane looks way better, from the looks of it you need to invest a lot of money in lots of addons to get FS-X up to an acceptable level. 60 bucks on X Plane and you have more than enough to get you going. I guess i have an advantage of a clean slate so to speak so can get started with X Plane 11. Will have to visit the forum and see what addons to try for what i am looking to achieve with a flight sim. Thanks again.
Yesterday i install X plane 11 and that impressed me was that found the second try my Microsoft Force feedback 2 joystick Are also including A-320 airbus with MCDU and other features or is necessary to buy an A320 addon.?
When you said 1982 my mom was 2 then
x plane vid:
youtube: wait this is x plane 9
also youtube:ok let's put it xplane 9
this is XP11.
In the video, do you have any scenery add-ons, or is this the default scenery that comes with the sim?
I'm thinking about buying this (2019) is it worth it? And what kind of game modes are there? A career mode of simply just a simulation
great
How to move right left up down from key board??
Or any setting??
there is a command in XP11 that you can bind to a key. check the XP11 manual
I like ur start up video. I have high end new gaming computer, three 27” gaming monitors and one game...x plane 11. I want to set it up to work with Monitors but best I can get right now is stretched out dash of Cessna that looks all wrong. I’ve contacted X plane and they just tell me to read manual. I may as well read Spanish. Any good step by step tutorials on setting up the three monitors??
what do you prefer between X Plane & P3D sir ?
XP11. i don;t fly P3D. thanks for watching
Is there a trainer add-on?
Yeah that Airfoil labs Cessna 172 he mentions.
Need help having trouble with auto pilot disengaging without touching it and trouble with landing gear not going up or down all settings are still correct. Please someone help with this if not I will be forced to go to flight simulator 2024
I'm exactly the opposite, i am a private pilot but I have only used the in house sim at the airport
I like how the video is 7:27 long
it would be great for someone to make a download guide for fseconomy for a mac.
Why is the control panel in the 172 so dark. I can not find a way to make it brighter. Any suggestions??
Pure Trouble I’m not sure how to control image brightness within XP11. There may be a deep configuration someplace. I suggest posting your question on the XPlane forum or contact LR support.
any joystick suggestion for mac user
sorry
Hi how can I follow my flight plan in xplane Cessna because I've already made a plan and i don't know which direction should I follow plssss help meeee
I'm just trying xplane 11 now. FSX is great, but the 32-bit engine just can't compete these days.
agree. X plane is awesome
They are good at different things. I really like the ATC and Flight Planner in FSX, also the environment is a little more alive. My go to is still x-plane though.
Which graphics mod were you running in these videos or was it stock? It's funny what u mentioned about your first flight sim. Mine was Chuck Yeagers Flight Sim in 1987.
no graphics mods running. flight sims sure have changed over the past 30 years :)
How do i turn off the brake in the Cessna in vr i cant find it becasue flight school does not work in vr..
Box of Demons look under the yoke. Below the console.
i play Microsoft flight sim and i want to get something better but i don't know what to get whats the best flight sim out today?
are all planes free?
No
There are good planes and addons for free, and many that you can pay for. You can search x plane 11 freeware and you’ll find a bunch of vids
Fish thanks im currently rocking the zibo737
is it available for unmaned drone?
For someone looking to start on simulations would you recommend FSX or X-Plane?
X-Plane.
I am having a huge problem with the camera in X Plane 11. It is so bad. The game tells you "when you want to grab the yolk, just click in the middle of the screen on the black crossair."
Ok yeah great awesome. But when I look around the cockpit, that stupid fucking crosshair follows the camera no matter where I look and when I want to click on a button, the game keeps grabbing the yolk and sending my plane into an uncontrolled dive. How do I re-bind the buttons to grab the yolk and look around, this is infuriating.
Bambino Games...I see oculus comes either in 64 or 128...and more pricey...comment ??
u mean the quest? no thanks
Whats the best wheel for plane games like the wheel and accelerator etc
Help is really appreciated,
there are number of choices. I've used this yoke for quite some time now and i;m very happy with it.. CH Products Yoke ► amzn.to/2r5XT3w
How’d you fix your lag issue if you had one ? My X-Plane lags a lot and I just got it . And I have a brand new pc
who else got a heart attack by the intro music effect?
oh.. snap
hello !!! what flight sim would you recommend for a Mac ?? , looking for something realistic for a private pilot like myself (cessna 182), any recommendation ??
Great video! Just wondering does x plane run smoothly on a Mac?
depends on the Mac. If you have enough CPU power and RAM it should be fine
It should, and it runs very nicely under Linux!!!!
For the price of the computer that it takes to run this game you can get a real private flying license. Jokes aside. I'm working on my private license now and using this game as practice.
best of luck with your PPL
I want to get into helicopter simulation. Would you recommend X Plane 11? Given you state, there is only one helicopter, or are there other helicopters offered by third party vendors.
Xplane or Dcs for choppers
do you need a flight stick?
You can fly with the keyboard but flight stick or yoke would make for a better experience
my passion call me again. i think is a 5th time when i download it again.
I wish my x plane frame rates would be like urs
thanks for watching and sharing.
How easy is it to create a working aircraft from scratch- using X-Plane 11?
David. haven't done that so hard for me to say. PlaneMaker comes with Xplane and is the tool I believes devs use to create aircraft. Probably documentation available on LR's website.
So if I got a yoke and throttle quadrant do I need to purchase rudder pedals aswell to fly?
no but it makes it more realistic
What airport were you at
Juneau Alaska
So if I got a yoke and throttle quadrant do I need to purchase rudder pedals aswell to fly?
Harley Taylor you don't need rudders if you have a twist joystick or something else that can model rudders (I had a cheap hotas stick with a rudder control on the throttle). If you have the money I would get some.
What rudder pedals?
Elwyn Mogford CH Products
ordered the new Microsoft flight simulator?
Mike Rivest not yet. but interested. VR is a requirement for me with any Flight Sim.
Does X-Plane have PMDG level aircraft for purchase at this time?
There is a DC6 from PMDG available (only for Windows though) which was developed specifically for XP10 and than ported over to FSX. Nice plane!
Boyle Inlet
Where could I find a cheaper PC to run X plane ??
