I was diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis & Degenerative Disc Disease in 2015, since starting your You tube videos I Have Gained 90% mobility in my spine, neck, and shoulders, as well as, Removing every reason for Disc replacement surgery. This is Truly Your Gift to Human Kind! Keep it up! I know I will. Aho!
Thank you for your wonderful video. I`m a 61 year old man, I took up yoga about a year ago to help relieve pains I have due to a motorcycle accident I was in at the age of 19. Recently I got a job at the church I attend, for the last three days I have been lifting tables and chairs for meetings at the church halls. My neck is (was) in a lot of pain, this video is great!. After only one time I feel so much better, your instruction is calm, informative, and flawless, I look forward to watching more videos, and leaving comments, but don`t worry...I won`t be a pain in the neck... Walt
I just wanted to say thank you for this video. I had a minor neck injury a couple years ago where I couldn’t turn my head left or right. Doing this video everyday for about 10 days, brought mobility back into my neck and shoulders therefore, joy back into my life and appreciation for the things I took for granted. Since then, I’ve been doing this video exercise almost every day! About 1100 times now. Thanks again!
I have chronic neck and shoulder pain that has been particularly bad lately. I do yoga daily with a focus on classes that target this area. I don't think ANYTHING else has given me such immediate relief as this class. Even though the stretches are simple there is something about the way you explain them and sequence them that makes such an impact. I will definitely return to this often. Thank you.
Wow, Kris! I found my way back to this video as I was experiencing lots of neck and shoulder pain this morning, and I am so thankful for you and your practice. The ways you share yourself with the world :)
Thank you!!! I mildly injured my neck a few days ago and this was gentle enough for me to practice but powerful enough to release the pain. What a difference. Thank you!
My shoulders and upper often back can get so stiff that I can't relax or even fall asleep. But this practice works like a charm to release almost all of the tension. Thank you so much for sharing this.
God bless you! I have been suffering with stiff neck and shoulders for quite a while now and these exercises give me a very nice relief. Thank you so much.
I started to feel my neck and shoulder stiffen up and starting feel painful after a morning's work at the computer, tried this and it really helped! Easy to follow and well instructed as well. Recommend a try!
I woke up with a terrible stiff neck, I've been practicing yoga for 3 months with yoga with Adrienne and yesterday I was doing headstand practice, I successfully got up and was so excited I pushed a little to much and strained. Today I did her neck routine but wanted a little more and found this. And I have to say I ended this video with thee biggest smile on my face and the thought of "I can't wait to try more of her videos" namaste 😊
KatrinaKingsOfLeon What great news! Congrats on your headstand and yeah, neck strain can be quite common when we start practicing weight bearing inversions so I'm glad you tuned in to your body and gave it what it needed. Make sure you're holding yourself up with the strength of your arms more than the neck. I LOVE Adriene and just want to let you know how big of a smile you gave me when I read your comment. Thanks so much! I'm glad you're here xo, Kris
KatrinaKingsOfLeon i came to this video in almost the same way! i wish i could say it was from practicing headstands, but i woke up with a crick in my neck (this seems to happen to me a lot). love adriene, but so glad to find you, kris! i'm excited to subscribe :)
Hi Kris, I live with chronic pain and have found your practice. Your gentle videos, sweet attitude, beautiful energy is perfect. And it feels so good! I didn't think I would ever start to get out from under this horrid pain and find someone to lead me to healing and gentle yoga that would feel so good. I can almost do the gentle, slow sun salutation video. I'm so excited! :) Baby steps. Slow, slow! Baby steps! Kris, you are doing something that is helping humanity. I just wanted you to know. Truly, from the bottom of my heart..thank you. God bless you dear sweet one! You are loved and appreciated by your students out here! And that just made me shed a little tear. haha
Goodness Victoria, you're gonna make me shed some tears, too! What a sweet and generous note to receive. Thank you so much for taking the time to share this with me. I have found so much healing from these practices and feel so strongly about sharing them with others. Sometimes it can feel like I am just sending stuff out there into online space and who knows if it's really helping anyone. It is very nice to know that the time and energy spent in creating these practices are helping you to heal. And yes you're right, one step at a time dear heart. Thank you so much for your comment and connection. xo, Kris
Just saw your comment and am wondering how you are, 4 years later? I have CFS and then I got Lyme disease. In March of this year, my 6th year of Lyme, I was finally able to begin a daily yoga practice. I found a 30-day challenge that started with 1 pose per day and worked my way through it. Yoga has become a wonderful part of my day and I really miss it on days when I can't handle it. This has been the only form of exercise/movement I have been able to tolerate and I'm so thankful. Praying you are having less pain and more energy 🙏
Just wanted to say thank you for this video. I've been having neck problems since 2013 and it even caused me to stop exercising. It's been pretty miserable. Nothing I found would work. Or it would make it hurt more for a few days. This last month or so I started getting better using this stretch I saw on another video, and then I found this one and it's just been amazing. I feel like it won't be much longer before my neck is 100 % again. Thank you!
I work in an office in NHS and always feel I have sore neck and shoulders these days. Tried this and found it so easy to do,, and feel a difference already. Will definitely be trying to do this more often. Thank you so much xxx
+Aileen Farrell thank you so much for letting me know! i'm so glad that you're experiencing benefits and encourage you to integrate what works for you into your daily routine. that's the heart of self care right there
Hi Kris, I'm steadily working my way through your videos. I enjoy them all, but keep coming back to this one over and over. It is so helpful and targets my stress zone perfectly! I've been checking out lots of yoga videos on RUclips lately, and yours are by far my favorites, with your perfect voice, demeanor and pace. Please keep posting!
as a violinist, I put quite a bit of strain on my neck and shoulders (especially if I forget to move mindfully) - and so I find this practice incredibly helpful. Thanks so much!!!
hey Ali, check out this longer neck & shoulder practice if you'd like ruclips.net/video/rNnyPY7xoOA/видео.html - might be a good one to interchange with this practice. of course you're welcome to do this one more than once and i hope you do ;)
I was in a minor car accident today, we were rear ended and I have a little whip lash, I was super sad because I was worried I wouldn't be able to continue my daily practice for a bit, but I've loved this video for a while now and I'm so glad I thought to come to it💚 it really lifted my spirits and helped me feel better. Thank you Kris ✨
i'm so glad that you thought to come to it too, despite the reason for needing to come to it. i hope you've healed and are living well Katrina xo, kris
you're welcome! glad to hear that you're finding the practice helpful and also staying consistent with something you've found to work for you. i appreciate the feedback and am thankful for you taking the time to let me know.
Holy crap! Broken neck several years ago and definitely still struggle with the soft tissue pain and tightness... not only did this actually loosen me up (miracle in itself) but it also didn't aggravate anything (whuuu?!) Thank you so much!!
Man that was good! I slept odd the other night and my right side of my neck and shoulders have been stiff and sore for 2 days now. It didn't relieve all the pain and stiffness but I definitely felt some relief. Thank you! I am do it again just to see if I can get rid of the rest.
Hi Kris! Thank you for sharing these effective stretches! I work at a computer and have some pretty serious neck issues but this really feels great to stretch those tight muscles in my neck and shoulders. I enjoy your energy and feel calm in your presence (cyber, but still...) I will check out more of your videos and hope I can eventually feel loose as a goose! :)
Thanks so much for your feedback, Christie! It's so beneficial for me to know what resonates with folks. I'm so glad you found some relief. I just posted a yoga for stress video and I'm hoping to do another one for the neck and shoulders. If you try them out I'd love to hear how it goes for you! Xo, kris
you're welcome! so glad that you enjoyed it. you're welcome to return anytime! there's another short neck & shoulder practice, a little longer but just as effective, in case you missed it here's the link: ruclips.net/video/rNnyPY7xoOA/видео.html
Thanks so much, Sherry! I'm glad you loved it. And your timing is impeccable. I am in the process of shooting longer practices that will be available as digital downloads and DVDs. Hoping to have them out by the end of the month. I'll let you know.
I am now doing this practice regularly and find a huge improvement in my neck pain and stiffness in shoulders. Even my Physiotherapist sees an improvement. Thanks so much Kris.
+Kris Moon Do you do a video for Back pain, I have Scholiosis and I did yoga for 3yrs 8yrs ago and it's was a Miracle FOR all over pain, stiffness and OVERALL QUALITY OF LIFE!!
This was so good to do just before bed, I have been super stressed lately because of school and my shoulders (particularly on the left side) have been super tense. I have looked around youtube but hadn't found anything as good as this. My shoulders feel a lot better now
+Lucy Lu oh i'm so glad to know that you've found something to relieve the tension in your shoulders caused by the stress of school. thanks for sharing and for being here xo
Thanks. That was a brilliant little neck work out. I'm book-marking it. Maybe a little less talking at the beginning but otherwise perfect. My body cracked beautifully the first time. Thanks again.
You are the best yoga teacher I've found online to date! You explain things so well and don't rush. So happy to have found your neck tension video. Keep up the great work! :-)

My neck has been stiff and sore for the last few days, I tried everything, including a bunch of other yoga videos yesterday. Just found this one today and WOW what a difference it made! I feel almost completely better! 😊 I will definitely be subscribing and doing more of your videos! Thank you! 😊

I really love your video. So much work and raising a kid gives me a lot of stress making my shoulders stiff. But now I found your video and started yoga with you!! Thank you so much and I love your style which is so calm and touching:)
thank you friend! I so needed this. I especially love your unique attention to placement of the shoulders during stretches which I haven't experienced in my many years of doing hatha yoga. Years of pulling the shoulder out of the shoulder girdle. So wonderful!
I was on my phone and I was slumping. Then after a few hours my neck had stiffened so I tried this video and it totally WORKED!!!!!!! I was surprised and truly releaved that my stiff neck is gone.
Thank you! I actually did this 3x b/c my shoulders and neck were so tight.... and I can't get to the acupuncturist today. :) Will definitely check out your other videos. I did this at my desk.
May I say that you are simply amazing for sharing your gift online with others. I suffer from serious amounts of neck pain and neurological problems into my hands. This really helped me the first time doing it. I noticed the improvement immediately! Thank you so much!
Hi I loved this. It's great for my neck. I'm super new to yoga stretching and such. I found that the thunderbolt is uncomfortable to me so I just sat cross legged and with some cushion. I did have some numbess in legs and some hip tension. Posture was a bit difficult. The mid back was weak. Do you think you think you could make a video for either strengthening those or something? Appreciate it. :) I'm
Hi Jessica! Thanks for the comment. Yes those are good areas to focus on. I'll definitely keep it in mind as we begin to produce more practices in the next few weeks. In the meantime you could try the practice sitting in a chair if if gets too uncomfortable or distracting.
thanks for sharing Sarah! I'm not a doctor, but I would be very cautious with the neck rolls with herniated disks. The other exercises aim to create more mobility in the neck so glad to hear you're enjoying the practice. xo, Kris
I luv u omg whn I teach i kmo I will also be in the TMI genre, thank you again for this sequence i felt great i have been havn left neck pain beginning in the occipital area down to my lev scap &rhomboid minor
Kris - Do you have any Yoga/Mindfulness DVD videos out for someone to purchase? If yes, where can one purchase them? Target, Walmart, etc or on your internet site?
+Katelyn Thomas thanks for your question...I don't have any DVDs at Target or Walmart, but in the past when I had a specific request for a video I made it available as a digital download. If you'd like, you can sign up for my weekly newsletter, and in the next month or so, I'll let you know when a Mindful Yoga practice is available to purchase. You can sign up on my website at www.practicewithkris.com/ and also see the Yoga for Sleep practice in the Re(store). Thanks Katelyn xo
Hi I loved your video, I really like your meditative teaching style. I would love to see a longer video for head forward posture/rounded shoulders as this is my problem ( i also have way tight hamstring too.) Thank you so much :-) I clicked like and subscribed.

thank you friend! I so needed this. I especially love your unique attention to placement of the shoulders during stretches which I haven't experienced in my many years of doing hatha yoga. Years of pulling the shoulder out of the shoulder girdle. So wonderful!

I love your teaching style and soothing voice, thank u

I love this video, I have herniated disks in my cervical spine and I do these exercises several times a week.
thanks for sharing Sarah! I'm not a doctor, but I would be very cautious with the neck rolls with herniated disks. The other exercises aim to create more mobility in the neck so glad to hear you're enjoying the practice. xo, Kris
