Wait in line
'Till your time
Ticking clock
Everyone stop
Everyone's saying different things to me
Different things to me
Everyone's saying different things to me
Different things to me
Whoa
Do you believe
In what you see
There doesn't seem to be anybody else who agrees with me
Do you believe
In what you see
Motionless wheel
Nothing is real
Wasting my time
In the waiting line
Do you believe in
What you see
Nine to five
Living lies
Everyday
Stealing time
Everyone's taking everything they can
Everything they can
Everyone's taking everything they can
Everything they can
Whoa
Do you believe
In what you feel
It doesn't seem to be anybody else who agrees with me
Do you believe
In what you see
Motionless wheel
Nothing is real
Wasting my time
In the waiting line
Do you believe
In what you see
Ah and I'll shout and I'll scream
But I'd rather not have seen
And I'll hide away for another day
Do you believe
In what you see
Motionless wheel
Nothing is real
Wasting my time
In the waiting line
Do you believe
In what you see
Everyone's saying different things to me
Different things to me
Different things to me
Different things to me
Different things to me
Everyone's taking everything they can
Everything they can - Видеоклипы
I'm sorry but this is one of the greatest tracks of all time.
Absolutely , just loop it and listen over and over .
No need to be sorry. Infinitely listenable.
So sublime, smooth and jazzy
No apologies necessary…you’re spot on
Why are you sorry ??
I discovered Zero 7 a few years ago, life happened up until then, but now at 64 years and seen some light and dark in life, I am quite happy that I found this group of passionate collaboraters at a time when I can appreciate the depth of song writing, production and performance that makes some tracks timeless. Hope you are all still enjoying yourselves in your pursuits in and out of this group... Thank you ✌️

60 yrs here. Welcome aboard my friend. Just tuning in for this version of Sophie, kinda sweet on this lovely lady and who isn't. Always enjoying life as we all should. Only one go-around on this big, blue marble, make the best of everyday we have on this side of the grass.😁🤘Live long and prosper!
@@loucat2779 Thank you Sir...as a guy who has worked in mixing and lighting over the years and was only diagnosed with PTSD after I stopped self medicating in my 50's, when nothing worked anymore, I realise the passion expressed by those who know the importance of the messages they are sending out to the world of the human condition through the enormous effort it takes in the brighter periods of a rollercoaster life cycle, trying to ride the highs by exhibiting the brilliance of a creative soul, but also sharing some of the pain that is on the flip side with exquisite lyrical and sonic perfection which many will never understand...is the essence of distilled magic from all those involved. I have the benefit of observing all this from my home studio as one who has always been happy to capture that magic when it happens, something that Zero 7 in all of its formats seems to have achieved. Peace and the good life to you and all those in your presence Sir✌️🎆

& massive attack
@@stephenlynch5143 Massive Attack came to my attention around Mezzanine and I usually try and see what a band has done before I pick up on them but the astounding amount of music that someone like me takes an interest in doesn't allow me to follow up on everything that I like when I still follow the careers of Robert Plant and others from that era as well and of course there's also amazing younger artists that RUclips leads me to all the time, Elderbrook blows me away and then there is my space ambient addiction... you're only young once and at 64 I have at least another 30 years of discovery ahead before I become a solid state mind in a jar... listening at a gigabyte a second ✌️😂
No samplers, no auto tune, no pre-recorded sounds. All real music, all real class, all sheer emotions.
This song ia 20 years old and it could come out tomorrow and still be ahead of it's time.
Will never get old.
Well said
Something otherworldly with the synth
One of the exclusively rare cases when there’s so much talent, that live voice beats studio version.
This is magical. From the day I heard it 20 years ago, to today in 2023. Lifts my mood and transports me to another place
Exactly what I felt coming up on this gem. 20 years on, the emotion is the same
Same.
We need this Zero 7 back... urgently.
"Backing" singers deserve full credit too!
Why is this band so underrated? Come on, this is the nateral progression of your evoling musical maturities.
I’d never say they are underrated. Record sales are not a mark of success. How many paintings did VanGough sell in his lifetime
I discovered this song while watching Garden State in 2004. Quite frankly, it introduced me to a whole new genre of music at the time that I was not familiar with. What a classic.
Same story here- my tastes were vastly expanded by that soundtrack.
@VicLabs Yup. Got a CD from a thrift place the other week, and it's sitting on top of the player.
Same. The love of my life introduced me to the movie and soundtrack of Garden State. Every time I hear a song off that soundtrack, randomly, I’m brought back instantly to warmer moments in my life. Simply amazing song
Me too. And Frou Frou too. A very underrated movie soundtrack.
Listening to Sophie Barker's voice with Zero 7, is like breath of fresh air that puts you into a memorizing state of euphoria.
She's put on a few pounds hasn't she
Definitely!!
Shut up and listen to her please bro.
@@dannnsss8034 What importance is that? She is a great singer...
@@dannnsss8034 Are you always an a$$, or just when posting comments?
I’m 500 years old and I heard this song before they wrote it. It really takes me back to my old age. Magical!
😂😂😂😂😂 best comment ever. You beat everyone
The winner of the internet !
I wanna add to everybody else’s comment to point that the sound mix is phenomenal. Sounds almost like the record if not better.
That keyboard sound... So airy and ethereal. 😌
Never grows old.
AiR is right.
Still sounds amazing over 20 years later...timeless 😍.
Listen to....hooverphonic....eden
It will blow you away
20 years ago!??? My son just shared, is the first time I've heard and am hooked!! 💎🎶🎤🎹🎸🥁
Love her voice ❤
Yes, truly amazing song!
Truth...
Every time I hear something from Zero 7’s “Simple Things” album it reminds me of HOW FUCKING GREAT that album is from start to finish. I’m a pacifist but I’ll fight anyone who disagrees that this isnt a perfect album. I’m not saying it’s the best album ever. I’m saying it’s perfect in every way.
It's a fucking masterpiece, without a doubt.
It's literally one of my favorite albums, even with Sophie and Sia before Sia got huge and started hiding her face. Soundtrack from the movie Garden State, which is how I ended up buying the album in the first place. Very unique, and timeless music.
"I'm a pacifist but I'll fight anyone" hahaha awesome, I agree completely, awesome album.
One of those rare albums where it’s gold from start to finish
its pure gold
Sophie barker is beautifull in every way. lovely voice and presence. lovely, beautifull
If you're still listening to this masterpiece, you have a good taste in music. 💞👌😊👍
thank you
This song saved me from school. thanks from korea!
I'm so glad that when I think of my early 20's this is one of the memoires I get to have. Amazing music.
The way Sophie sings slightly behind the beat is BEAUTIFUL and brilliant! Miles and Dexter both did this on their best performances. Like them, she's a timeless classic.
It doesn't matter how old I get this is just timeless !
It took me almost 20 years to know who' s this song was. I just love it. I cannot stop playing it. Reminds me my times driving looking at the pacific ocean while going to college.
2024 & still easing into this Great song..😊
Sophie barker deserves serious respect but the guy playing the rhodes, backing singer but the whole band.....COME ON. Legends.
Guy playing the piano solo is Neil Cowley who moved on and formed Fragile State, Pretz and the much missed Neil Cowley Trio. Comeback NCT, you are so missed.
@@trevorskidmore5439 Well said, its the whole group that make this magic. Thanks for the update. Appreciated.
I first heard this song at the end of a Sex And The City episode. Loved this song ever since.
I've literally just watched the same episode tonight! And immediately needed to find this track! It's fab!
They nailed this, especially Sophie. She just killed this performance
I remember I found this song at age 15. I didn’t really understand it at the moment but I just knew it was something special. And now it’s a song has gone with me through the bad and the good .
go ahead Sophie…just melt me into a puddle!
Top 10 best songs and performances of all time.
❤❤❤❤❤
I was sitting in a Starbucks in Little Rock Arkansas over 12 years ago and heard a song over head that I had never heard before but fell in love with. I opened SoundHound and the song was Destiny. I still listen to it and Zero 7 all the time. I’ve probably watched this video probably a hundred times. 😅
Sophie Barker has the voice of an angel.
Oh yeah, there's some magic on this on.
One of the greatest bands of all time
Haha I appreciate your enthusiasm but that could be a bit of a stretch
Portland Oregon Radio Station - Kink FM Radio brought me here back in the early 2000's, trip hop is tripped, love it!
Timeless song. I dont know how i discovered zero 7 in 2001. I didn’t have tv or radio. I guess it was in my destiny to discover them so i can find meaning in life.
I *think* it was on SATC.
We had KCRW with music of this genre from the early 90’s on..
That was a really impressive live performance... They are one of my favorite chill artists along with Air and boards of Canada
Mesmerizing....
The Fender Rhodes solo from 2.55-3.21 is pure heaven!
The Rhodes is always heaven!
Always thought it was a Rhodes on the album but here they’re using a Wurlitzer here.
That’s a Wurli…but it’s a sweet solo..
Little Manzarek boy right there 😁
It was this song played at the end of an episode of House that made me aware of Zero 7. No idea how they slipped under my radar before that.
Same here ! One of this "I've got to find out out who it is" moment :D
THERE IS NO WAY THIS WAS 20 YEARS AGO!!!! Damn...I've loved this song for as long as it's been around, but time has done a funny thing with my brain, because I can't fathom that it came out 20 years ago. Thanks, Zero 7 for all the amazing music over the years. And thanks to Sophie for lending her silky smooth vocals over this banger of a track. Happy New Year all!
I'm crying right now, not only because I'm a bit drunk (it's NYE after all!) but because of my love for Zero 7, and all of their amazing vocalists they've had over the years. Although I've never had the pleasure to see Sophie perform with them live, or meet her in person, I actually *DID* get to meet Sia a long time ago! It was her album called "Some People Have Real Problems", so way before the general population had ever heard of her, and she was performing a short set, live, in my local record store! I honestly couldn't believe that not only was I watching Sia, of all people, performing with her band in a relatively small record store, but I was standing about 5 feet in front of the stage! After her set, she hung out for about an hour signing her record (or whatever else you happened to bring along) and chatting with fans. When I mentioned Zero 7 and how much I loved their music, her eyes and face lit up like a light bulb. She actually hugged me, and said "awwww, thank you!" and then signed a couple of the CD inserts from that album.
I know that this comment should have been all about Sophie, because she deserves it, but alas, I'm just a huge fan of Zero 7 and everything that they have done, and ALL of their vocalists are amazing! I only wish I could have seen them back in the day when Sophie *and* Sia were on tour with them! Could you even imagine??
@@gustafsone It is 20 years ago when the world was a fun place to be. We didn't have President who was a megalomaniac, ( Trump) medicinal weed became legal. Coachella happened in the desert of Indio California and exploded from there. Zero 7 happened with Sia and Sophie Baker. Then Theivery Corporation song Lebanese blonde happened, song simultaneously and I was happy.
@@mariestandish4746 err ... do you remember who the president was 20 years ago? He wasn't much better than Trump.
That was a great album by Sia. If my memory serves me correct her single off that one was called "Little Black Sandals". Let me know if I'm wrong!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!
I hear you totally! Back when I first heard Zero 7, I was estranged from my husband, vowing never again. Twenty plus years on, and I remarried, and have two teenage children. This song transports me to a softer, gentle place.
I first heard this song in the closing credits of a Sex and the City episode (the one where Carrie takes care of Big after heart surgery). I searched until I finally found the song and artist. Love it.
Same! That’s the first time I ever heard of zero 7 and I’ve been hooked ever since
still. such. a. vibe.
I miss this era of music so much
It’s beautiful to hear how more subtlety mature Sophie’s voice has become over the years. Her songs are some of my most cherished in Zero7’s catalogue.
Thanks for Topping off the year, Sophie. It’s been an honor!
A great observation. Her voice is suddenly changing for the better!
At a dark time in my life, I discovered Zero 7 on a ferry crossing to the Outer Banks with my son. They blew me away then and still do every time I hear them.
How many times have I listened to this wonderful song and album. To this day I break out my keyboard and get narley on it. such a wonderful piece of music
Timeless song. It simply doesn't age.
O´YEEEES!
There literally isn't anyone around nowadays like Zero 7. They're vocalists were second to none! I sincerely hope that one day they will all come back together for one last tour. Fucking beautiful ❤
Thievery Corporation is still around, and Supreme Beings of Leisure just reunited.
You should give London Grammar, machineheart, or Broods a chance.
Sia is still around and bigger than ever.
@@mournblade1066Nice recs, thanks
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Tesla ad for self driving mode used your song and I fell in love with it. A Masterpiece
2024 here.
This song is incredible. ❤❤
This tune should be named "beauty!"
Oh how I love Sophie, what a woman!
Sophie has a very beautiful voice......unique.
Zero7 is magic by music.
This woman is a true treasure!
Truth Bomb Lyrics…Magical Musicianship…Sophie’s Sirenic Voice -> Perfection
Danced to this song with my Mom at my wedding. Marriage didn't last, but at least I got this one good memory from the night.
Listening to this on a beach at sunset in Hawaii…. With my wife. Heaven on Earth
Just love zero 7 most greatest chillout
A timeless classic, makes me melt
Sophie is amazing. Always.
My motorcycle, an empty winding backroad and this in my helmet. Bliss. 🙏
Yep, 20+ years for me 🥰
Simple Things - My all time best Album ever! Truly Timeless , Special!
This is the song that introduced me to Zero 7 twenty three years ago and it's still as intelligent, haunting and mesmerising as the first time I'd heard it. Love you Zero 7.
Thank you Zero 7.
trip-hop vibes here. I like it
This song is a part of my life as much as my right leg.. it touches vibes similar to those of Air and other contemporaries.. This is the shit that defines eras.. I love this song, nay.. I am one with this song.
Heard this song for the first time in a ramen shop years ago and it’s still one of my favorite songs ever
I could listen to this, let another twenty years go by, and say that was Zero 7, wasn't it.
2024 here also. the best
The only and one awesome zero 7, thank you Dr House 4 this hidden gem.. 😊💪🥳
Impresionante!! piel chinita..
Sounds as fresh as the day it was released, pure beauty
hardaker binns and cowley - wow. the dream team. *flawless*
Love her voice, and I'll never get sick of this song, perfection.
A reunion show would be amazing, somewhere like Porchester Hall.
2:54 What a perfect solo, shortened phrases with a sort of cut off last note. Absolutely perfect!
Yes!
incredible! after all these years still mindblown!
My newest favorite
Over 20 years later and still sounds great
Bellissimo video, bellissima Sophie. Sono passati 20 anni ma Zero 7 sono sempre grandi. After the fall, Outline e Shadows sono molto belle.
love you Sophie!
90s and 2000s were the best era in the USA hands down for music. Brings me back
From Argentina thanks ❤️🙂
Sounds exactly like the studio recording. I mean that as the highest compliment ❤
Best song ever
That voice!
shout out to my mom who gave me to this zero 7 album to listen to from her job
Magical....reminds me of late summer....temperatures dropping gradually but still pleasant....Long shadows just before the sun goes down.....❤❤❤❤
Sublime and the rest❤x
I'm so grateful to YT Music's auto playlists for finding Zero 7 for me. Simple Things is such a masterpiece through and through.
Sublime.
I love Sophie
BEAUTIFUL ALL AROUND! 😍 🤗
I absolutely adore this song… This is the song that made me fall in love with Zero 7! Dreamy and hypnotic. Two of my children were born into the world listening to this. 🥰💗
