I love this song and Sia's vocals but, man, she blew me away. Sophie's voice is so warm and mellow. It's like laying down with a loved one and taking a long peaceful sleep.
So so good. I didn't think anyone other than Sia could do this song justice but Sophie more than does so. She has such a beautiful voice. I miss Zero 7 actually. They had so many great songs & were clearly top class musicians and vocalists.
I'm obsessed with the live version with Sia and Sophie. It's a beautiful, harmonious version. I came here from a Reddit link and have found that Sophie brings a delicacy to the song, which is really disarming. It's a fantastic version and shows what a great vocalist she is.

WOW...so much more warmth and character in her voice now than back in the day! She also seems more confident generally! definitely improved with age! very nice version and matches the strength of Sia's own version!

I totally agree. I'd love to see a Z7 alumni tour. Imagine hearing them on stage both individually and collectively. Sophie's voice really soothes that itch I had for hearing something different and wonderful. I'm an old classic rock guy but this genre of music really does it for me. I just purchased Seagull and I'm looking for Earthbound on cd.
An absolutely amazing acoustic version, she does!!! I love it! Back in the 70s, which this entire album sounded as if it had managed to escape to us from, the entire song would have been done with only the guitar. It would hi-lite her vocals as well as give the guitar and its haunting chords even more atmosphere. This is one of those times I wish it was only the guitar and Sophie Barker.
Didn’t Sophie write Destiny? It’s lovely hearing her solo rendition but I have to say I enjoy both versions. It’s probably the track that gives me the most feels on the Zero 7 Simple Things album. I remember a moment in time when DJ’s would play Destiny at some of the best chill out parties in London. Magic.
