I first heard this on the radio while listening to my local Triple A format station, 90.5 the Night. Instantly smitten I went out to Compact Disc World in Eatontown and found a used copy for a couple of bucks. Best money ever spent, soo many good sounds on that CD.
When i listen to this song and actually the hole simple things album, i remember a trip to italy in 2002, a german friend of mine at that time, her name was Jana, lended me the cd, thanks to her i discovered zero 7, . Im mexican and i lived in paris at that time, and that 7 days trip to rome. Venice, florence and verone, are related with zero 7 and that unique album, simple things, the best in my opinion. Now im in mexico, and everytime i heard destiny, i almost wanna cry.
I just recently started to get heavily into Sia's music and when I discovered that she sings in THIS classic track which I've known since... forever, my mind was blown to pieces. When I discovered that she wrote Titanium (it's my favorite crystal or metal :P ) my mind was blown too, but not as much!
This song is both beautiful and cosmic. I imagine myself sipping a drink in a long lounging gown on a lazy summer day by the pool. That girl can sang!!!!
I've always said that the JP8 changed the world of music. It's impenetrable . Here's another very good band whose soul lives in the Jupiter 8 and/or other Roland instruments. Can't help the comment. I hear music and can instantly discern a Roland arpeggiator. A dead giveaway.. I like all synth makes and models but if you want that shimmering like spray sound or that illusory chorus of ghosts effect you have to have it. I just made myself sound like an ad.

Sia's voice is so goddamn sexy. Always assumed it was a black woman who sung in this song and that other one Sia does with them, but no I later found out otherwise. Such a good voice.

Now I think they were way over hyped than what they were worth, but they started to have real talent in their later albums around the Magic Mystery Tour era. Sia has always had a commercial brand about her, even before she got insanely famous, but there's one thing is that she definitely has talent, moreso than most commercial musicians. She at least writes and sings her own music. She's been very instrumental to the pop genre as a whole. She also has amazing control of her voice, it's very beautiful to listen to.
Hugo Stiglitz They sorta were marketed into fame, but I get your point. Rather than starting purely as a talent group or some sort of kitsch tv show thing they actually began as a legitimate group.
