I’m happy the Houston Rockets didn’t take any BIG swings in free agency

  • There’d be more to be excited about if they went after a big name player. But I agree with this approach which ran counter to the many pre draft smoke screens. #Rockets #HoustonRockets #NBA

I am very happy they did not pull a Clippers move like they did when they traded SGA and picks for Paul George. Look how that worked out. No championships and Paul George walked. Meanwhile the Thunder are the best team in West. Rockets are still three years away from contending. Chris Paul is player coach on the Spurs. I would not be surprised if Paul retires after next season and joins the Spurs as a coach.

Yea, and OKC was smart enough to make a trade for their best player.

Paul Gallant is nuts to replace Fred van fleet with Derick White. Just lost any little credibility he had

I don’t think the Rockets could take a big swing. Players like PG & Klay are ring hunting. The Rockets would have to get a big name player through trade.

What do you mean at what price…??? We have a team full of players who can’t shoot, have dribbling issues, and our center is a liability on defense.
The Rockets are also in a bad position where they are going to give Sengun and JG big contracts and neither one of them fits the system of our head coach Udoka.

So glad the guy in the orange is not a coach or gm. It's about future investment of these young players with a higher ceiling. Why would you compromise the development of the young core you spent so much time with.
Hope he has a lame ass Derek White jersey.

In the past 21 years all of the Rockets All Star players have came through trade.

@@slickrick8046that’s more of an indictment on Daryl Morey legacy as a gm that can’t draft to save his life. Compare that to OKC Sam Presti who drafter 3 Hall of Fame plus a lot of high level B players like Steven Adams, Serge Ibaka, Lu Dort.
The last time the Rockets won a championship it was mostly via their drafted players…Hakeem, Cassell, Horry, etc so yeah building through the draft is the best option especially for longevity.

Dream was an exceptional center, and arguably the best center in NBA history. He carried a team with a bunch of role players to a championship.
But you’re forgetting that the Rockets traded for Clyde, Barkley, Pippen, and T-Mac before they got Morey as a GM.
As far as OKC…as of now they traded for their best player SGA. They also traded for a good player this offseason and brought in a good player as a free agent.

How many championships have you won. How many teams have you put together as a GM…???
Don’t question me…I’m just telling you what it is. Stone is out of the Morey camp of collecting assets for a trade. When the time comes, he’ll more than likely make a trade.
This is not a championship contending team as is. Also, all of Stone’s top 4 picks at the top of the draft are suspect. Cam is the only one who looks like he can blossom into a legitimate star player and we got severally lucky he fell in the draft when he should have been a top 5 pick.
