I love Sheppard's shooting. I am not sure he has a defensive upside in the NBA with his smaller size. Prefer Clingan but I don't see him doing much more than a redshirt first year with Adams on the team. I trust Ime and Stone to make the best decision

Really like Sheppard's upside and the team could use his shooting but it will be such a crowed back court that his development will no doubt be hindered.

It is pretty simple who the pick will be assuming Sarr and Risacher go first. If you are after offense, the pick is Reed. If it is defense, the pick is Castle. If it is a big, it is Clingan.

Sheppard should play in practice and in the G- League. He can come off the bench for the Rockets in a number of games.

Rockets need another year to evaluate what they have. Eason was out most of the year. Adams was not available, even Amen had the injury bug. Correct that you don't want to waste the 3rd pick for potential worse picks in the future. Unless some team makes a good offer, they should stay put. Down the road, you can look at packaging picks and players to upgrade. This is not the year. Clingan is a good option as he will have value down the road and could entice a good offer after he proves himself. He may be too good to trade and it's Sengun that gets traded. The key is trade from strength, not weakness. The Blazers should be talking trade up for #3 offering their #7 and #14, which allows the Rockets to get a backup point guard (Carter) and a back up big (Ware, Missi, Edey). FVV, Adams, and Brooks won't be around as starters when the Rockets contend.

Reed played 29 minutes a game and only managed to averaged 8 FGA per game with 4 3PA per game…with many of which being uncontested. That’s too small of a sample size. His athleticism is very questionable. He may have a hard time getting his shots off in the pros and driving to the rim.
He also shot 38% from 3 in high school…so what he did at Kentucky could be an anomaly.
It’s best to judge shooters by volume. Players like Curry and KD, for example, were putting up 20 and 18 shots per game in college.
The Rockets may be more interested in Knecht (someone who can contribute and play right away) or another player than they are Reed. Reed is too much of a risk for the Rockets to draft at pick #3.

No to Clingan. Castle is all right. Sheppard is my choice, with some reluctance.
