This is great. Thanks. I was thinking if there was a way to add a nice piece of clamp wood on the bottom plate (looks like it would be hard to get a piece on the top). Just to give it that extra bite on rocks if using it like a regular vise

Thanks for the great video. Loved the video on aligning sawblade to carriage. This helped my used Lortone 12 inch quite a bit as it now does not bind the blade 2/3rds way thru
the slab and stop the motor. That said, the old blade that came with the saw is a bit dished probably due to misuse. So, I am in the market for a new sawblade. I came across
a blade manufacturer (brand name Ukam) that says their diamonds are aligned in the sintering process that makes the blade more aggressive. Wondering if you or your lapidary
friends in the industry have used or even heard of these blades. Also looking at the MK 301 to be used on Brazilian agates. Any recommendations? Thank you!

Thank you. Just got my new MK 301 direct from the distributor and picked up the dial indicator from Harbor Freight. So will shelf the old dished blade even though
it was cutting better after realignment and set up the new blade properly with the tools and advise you gave. It was tough seeing the look on my great grand daughter's
face when the old set-up would bind, the motor heat up and switch off and we would look at each other and go UGH! Not again. But no more. All should be good now.
Really appreciate your down to earth explanations. Great job!

Hi again, I tried to find a you-tube video on taking out the dish in a lapidary blade but what I found seemed to indicate it was almost a lost art and that you could
end up really distorting it worse than it was. That would be a nice video on the subject if you would be so kind. Also, I am going to try a modification on your
carriage bolt geode clamp, using it in a horizontal manner to hold round half Brazilian agates while grinding and polishing with a hand held wet grinder.
Kind of messy but very hard to hold a round rock steady with rubber stops on a clamping sawhorse. Thanks again for the inspirational ideas.
