That cake does look great and I love the icing you put on top and I bet it taste so delicious too and I love cakes and pies. I would love to be able to make that cake and devour it in two days or less.

What is the idea of cutting off the top of the bottom layer and wasting all that goodness?!! For heaven's sake, just turn the bottom layer upside down so that the flat side is on top. This is basic layer-cake making, I can't believe you don't know this! Good recipe though, I love hummingbird cake.
It is kind of sad to see all that fat and sugar going inside the frosting.. When you know how to balance the flavors in your cakes, you don't really need all this sugar and butter.. 😱😫 What a shame.. because the cake looks really delicious by itself..
Agree for the sugar, their is wayyyyyy to much sugar and fat in that frosting.. I wish people to make more healthy desserts. After all, we can still enjoy a nice dessert without putting 2 pound of sugar or butter inside.. I'm ok if the cake is not even though
Lisa Gialucci I don’t think a doctor would agree that this is a reasonable amount of sugar, even half of it still looks excessive. And yes, I prefer even cakes EVEN as a homemade option.
