The ending of Loki episode 6 gave me absolute chills. This guy is no joke
Think about it, all the other villains, no matter what threats they pose, are just pawns in a storyline that he's already written. Lmao. He's literally already won, any losses he incurs along the way, are just details in a story that ends with him being the one who remains at the citadel at the end of time. There is NO beating him. Lol.

To add to this, the multiverse right now is like one big loop, the wiser version of Kang, was the strongest of all of them, he was the Conqueror, he conquered all of the other Kang’s and destroyed the multiversal war! He stopped all of it! And now we are going to see prime Kang the Conqueror, before he became settled down, and we are going to see all of his violent variants too, we are going to rewatch the rise of Kang the Conqueror, the origins of the man we just saw get killed! What a phenomenal way to start a character, watch him get killed, know he’s flesh and blood, but they still can’t stop him
@@swiftlessytvlogs5637 he's gonna be everywhere on phase 4. We didn't see Thanos much....I think everywhere we look in phase 4, there'll be a variant of Kang.
@@dadaseyi I think we will see weaker (still insanely strong) versions of Kang, but Kang the Conqueror, the strongest of them all is gonna be a Thanos type character where he will just obliterate anyone standing in his way
I remember Kang from the Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. The Kang Dynasty 3-parter are some of my favorite episodes.

But he was a little bland and less of interesting character on that show, and when compared to his interpretation on Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes, that version of Kang was a little more complex and only wanted to conquer our timeline in order to save the destruction of his timeline and his beloved wife Ravanna due to the actions of Captain America, and as such he was nothing more than a desperate ruler attempting to do anything to save the life he's made and people he loves (quite similar to the origin of Mr Freeze). So the Avengers Assemble interpretation of Kang was a little generic and lacked memorable complexity to his character unlike AEMH's interpretation.

Kane is an alternate dimension time traveler using Doctor Doom's time machine to establish empires in different timelines. He took over Egypt and called himself Rama Tut but was stopped by the F4. His appearances depend on which Kang from which timeline and which scheme he is currently working. He can be from the past, present, or future which gives writers a good way out if a story gets silly because no matter who is killed or what is destroyed...time travel fixes all plot holes.

Turns out that was kang
Even the pure and logical Kang from Loki just seemed unsettling for some reason. But knowing that there’s going to be dozens of crazy variants of him coming into the MCU just makes it even more disturbing and unsettling. This was the best way to introduce the new villain for the upcoming movies. Hearing him say “see you soon” as he died gave me goosebumps. Here comes phase 4

Majors was great in that finale as kang can’t wait to meet the evil versions of him. He’s gonna be a great villain.
Thanks to my dad I first learned about Kang in the secret wars, then we watched Avengers: Earths mightiest heroes together. Now that Loki is done he’s finding his old comic books so I can read upon him some more. I think he’s in my top 3 villains

Back here after the Loki season one finale. Gotta say, I was skeptical at first of Jonathan Major's appearance being just a regular guy (just to note I do love his character portrayal), but it makes sense now since he wasn't the Conqueror variant which was shown in statue form at the end of the episode.
And thats what makes him more interesting. If you think the wacky unhinged He who remains version of Kang in Loki wasn't evil enough, what more could you imagine if we truly got to see the real Kang

Idk why the comments are so set on this, but the Kang that appeared in Loki was NOT the prime conqueror Kang. The version that appeared in the show is Immortus, which was hinted at when Immortus said he had "lived a million lifetimes", it's also hinted at in this name "he who remains"
I think they might separate Immortus and one who remains as different villains.

Good insight. I think it’s more so that they are one in the same as they are just variants. So in a way, it’s not that bad for the general public to confuse them.
Coming back to this after watching the latest episode of Loki and I gotta say how much I appreciate what you guys do. I've historically been more into DC comics than Marvel comics. I've got mad respect for the Marvel universe(s) but there's not enough hours in the day to go through all the history. Now I can watch your vids, watch a Marvel release and understand twice as many references and catch way more Easter eggs. Thanks Variant.

Yes this is what I started doing. And I gave up mostly on paying to much attention to the MCU movie verse. I enjoy the EU so much more. And after infinity war I haven't enjoyed any movies they've done.

I just read the Marvel's Villains book, a collection of short stories from the pov of the baddies, and Kang has an excellent story in it. He succeeded in taking over the Earth of the Marvel universe and kills all the heroes. But resistance keeps popping up everywhere and people will just not accept his rule. He takes on various allies but they make things worse, treating the people so bad that they revolt even harder. Don't want to spoil the ending but, like all off the stories in the book, the villains aren't the "pure evil" that they appear to be at first. Well worth tracking down simply because it isn't the usual hero stories. The Venom and Absorbing Man one was a fav for me, as was the Carnage story.
I'm surprised he didn't mention the Young Avengers first run, which is centered around Kang trying to defeat himself, and no mention of Children's Crusade, which his time traveling causes shinaigans as well (including bringing Scott Lang back to life)
You're a real trooper for volunteering to make sense of all this time/reality traipsing gobbledygook, which takes a true fan to even attempt while keeping a straight face.

To boil it all down kang is a character that has hopped around different timelines and created different versions of himself in each world and has crossed paths with many different heroes

Kang Dynasty was a great story. I also liked Avengers Forever as one of the first comics I ever read.
Leaving out his Immortus persona and the history there with Carol Danvers is probably wise.

He is making his debut in the next Antman film. So it is more likely his abilities will be tied to the Quantum Realm.

So the complete timeline of Kang goes something like this:
Nathaniel Richards -> Rama -Tut -> Scarlet Centurion -> Kang The Conqueror -> Immortus ->Iron Lad (technically)

Want to be confused more? He is not only Reed Richards’ descendant but also Reed’s dad. He’s also a descendant of dr doom but implied to also be Dr Doom

He strongly implies Reed’s dad is a version of Kang. 1) Immortus is the ruler of a timeline full of variants of Reed’s dads 2) the Beast, a version of Nathaniel Richards lives and rules Chronopolis (which is Kangs base of operation) 3) Reed’s dad admits he is all versions of Nathaniel Richards.
Kang is a paradox. Because he has a full mastery of time he is his own descendant

That Avengers issue where the Swordsman dies (I believe was a giant size issue) was a fantastic issue. I still remember the opening splash page of Hawkeye shooting his bow.

In the early 2000s there was a great Excalibur mini-series that ended with Brian and Megan as King & Queen of Otherworld after machinations by Mastermind in Avalon. IIRC, Kang showed up on the very last page, hinting he was behind it all. Most of the plot points from that series were quickly ignored, but I wondered if Kang's part was ever followed up on.
