Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest and most innovative rock band in the world. - Видеоклипы
I’m here cause of Danny Carey
same - caught the Beato interview yesterday. 😃

Same, first thought once it started playing was that this probably influenced his part in Triad
Hey brother drummers!
My first single when i was a kid, Rock and Roll / Four Sticks still so good to hear. 61 years old now but still rocking.
I'm 75 and it's still good
Arno Meeuwisse - Great taste.
Good on you mate ,I'm 68 and listen to led zeppelin every night best band ever you keep rocking, never see the likes of them again in my life time.
Saw Zep at Knebworth in 1979. So amazing I managed to get tickets for the following weekend.
I’m 63.
Rock on brother. Amen
Led Zeppelin IV, a planetary treasure.
Robert Plant’s primal cries, during the outro, are my favourite vocals of his in Led Zeppelin’s entire discography. He sounds like some savage wolfman, howling from a tree, near the top of a mountain.
goosebumps!
Well put!
❤️

😜 I love your description of the baddest front man ever!!!!
No four musicians have ever assembled to make magic like this.
Magick*
Not sure that's true, but no other rock band sounds like this, or ever will. It's magical.😊
Beatles
*ahem* pink floyd *ahem*
agreed. i mean led zeppelin is good, but pink floyd easily beats them
Robert Plants voice reached those really high notes back when they were Zeppelin 🎶 great memories of all their music.
It's well known that Plant's vocals were sped up on various recordings to create a different sound. But it still sounds great.
Love the high notes part of his voice in the early song, but then less in the end....
people say his voice changed after the accident he had
@@maxcohen13 hey Rusty, how’s Nancy and Joseph?
@@johnnyfoo8737 His voice was different on the album "Presence" due to the broken ribs he'd sustained from the car accident very shortly prior to recording it.
This song has a wicked, mesmerizing power moving through it. It’s an amazing creation.
🙂🤪
Ya I agree, it’s got this forward movement from start to finish, punctuated by the bridge which is akin to taking a breather/grabbing some water. When the main guitar motif cuts back in at the end of the song makes me so happy.
I've always thought that their non-hits were the best.
They wouldn’t play it live because it’s difficulty of timing for Bonham !
Exactly this. There is an unrelenting drive throughout. One of my favorite Zep tracks.
Jimmy's guitar tone was dialed in and the best in this era of recording. Absolutely genius and underrated track
Not for us zeppelin fans❤
Underrated is so overused. Ugggh
There are many albums where every song is a good one. This album just might top them all.
Led Zeppelin 4, Van Halen 1, Dark Side of the Moon. All perfect in my eyes!
@@ow_oso Led Zeppelin 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Four sticks. Only he could play drums like that. Only He - John Henry Bonham 🎶🥁🎶🧡
💯 percent right 7
Benzos response to ginger Baker trying to be the self appointed best. Hahaha
Actually, it took him several takes to record the drums on this song. He couldn't wrap his head around the complexity of the time signatures. That's why they never played this song live, because John couldn't play it live.
Not according to jpj
*Ian Paice appears in the scene🤣
The best band ever✨✨🌟
Bar none
Still is the best band ever!!
Without a doubt, and with zero controversy, you're absolutely right
1000%!!!

This song was close to being retired. It wasn't until Bonzo came home one morning from seeing Ginger Baker play that he brought it back with his drumming. Due to this, they called it "four sticks" as a thank you to Bonzo... Also the fact that he played it with four sticks. It was a "I'll show you!" to the much respect Baker
ginger baker didn't think much of bonzo's drumming.
@@alanh7247 Ginger was a great drummer but a royal asshole.
@@alanh7247 Ginger Baker was influenced by jazz drummers.
@@alanh7247Ginger Baker couldn't carry John Bonham's jock strap
Ginger Baker didn't think much of anybody, tbh. Just ask Richard Bruce, how he felt to be in a band with him. ;-)
This is my favorite track on a masterpiece album. It’s the drums. It’s Bonham.
Led Zeppelin's music 🎶 is timeless.
Bonham wielded two drumsticks in each hand for this song. Hence the title, Four Sticks 🥁
It was also a notoriously difficult song to record, according to Page. They never could recreate it live
He felt the need to prove himself because Ginger Baker undermined his talents as a drummer
Duct tape?.
@@70sjiveforzeppelin19 Baker was an uptight Ass. He felt the need to Shyte on every Drummer because of his own insecurities. Even his Mates thought Bonham was a Better Drummer.✌
@@askledhead Exactly. Bonham was always a better drummer. I am a fan of Cream's music, don't get me wrong... but Baker was never as good as John in his short lived time
When you look back in time there aren’t too many who stand the test of time! Zep, Stones, Skynyrd, Beatles, Pink Floyd, Hendrix, The Who and a few other bands/ artists demonstrated longevity and talent combined and we who grew up with them are truly blessed.
Yup my older brother used to jam with Gary Rossingtons cousin Barry needless to say whenever Skynerd came to LA we got backstage passes 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
So glad to see Skynyrd included in your list

LED ZEPPELIN FOREVER! LONG LIVE LED ZEPPELIN!
I always called this album Four Sticks, 'cause it's their fourth album and there's a guy with a bundle of sticks on the cover. And it's my favorite song on the album.
Four sticks… because John played with two sticks in each hand!
Best song of the album imo. I love it!
So, are there worse songs for you in that album.....? :'(
@@Miguel_Noether ahahah "worse songs" is a big statement. I'll say that I like less Going To California.
For me this song is Lower tier on IV. But its still a masterpiece, the Vocal effects, the Four sticks sounds, thr synths , the Bombastic riff. This song is amazing
well Zep never wrote a bad song so...lol
I’d agree if it weren’t for plants awful vocals
If you are here, sir you have an excellent taste in music!
Fun fact: Ten years ago I was struck over the head with a club by a neo-Nazi. I lived and the club was broken into four sticks😅
Ladies too!
It's cos I like Ocean Colour Scene
Louder please....!
Some of us fans are female too lol😉 im fact daughter mid name is Paige which is cute "variant' of the English Page.
I’ve seen led zeppelin live in 1972 at the old Kooyong tennis stadium Melbourne.
I remember all the surrounding buildings had people sitting on the roof.
It was my first big concert.
I’ve seen Robert plant many times since including the no quarter tour with jimmy page.
That would of been amazing
Drums are absolutely primal
Those of us born in the 50's, 60's and even the 70's were so blessed to have lived and been young during that time. To experience music like this, to experience it on vinyl. Concerts were a blast and you could actually afford to go to them. You'd sleep outside on a sidewalk all night long for ticket master to open and be the first in line to buy your tickets with cash. Remember the house party before gun violence? Hell, even the drugs back then were fun before all drugs became fentanyl. To leave the house and nobody could reach you by phone until you got back home, everything you did was through word of mouth. Life was good before social media. Music like this is all I have left to enjoy. Something awful happened to the world we live in and as blessed as I am to have lived the life I have at the time I did, I find myself mourning the loss of it, the sanity of it or maybe it was always a mess and the computer age and social media only served to put it in our faces. Enter covid and the age of the Karen - those 3 years of crazy have irreparably damaged me and I don't think I will ever be okay again. Not completely. Either way ... I'm about ready to check the fuck out.
You look young for someone born in the 50's ‼️
Отличная композиция !!! Обожаю эту группу !!! 👍👍👍👍
Possibly the most underrated Zeppelin tune.
This comment appears on every song of theirs on RUclips
Plants voice. Wow. Every one of them is killing it again on this tune.
Possibly their best more like it
And then there was Led Zeppelin. Total darkness before and after.
And the void was filled!
In your opinion.
It's amazing I forgot about this song then watched the interview with Danny Carey.

This song is amazing..always blows me away..chills up my spine
Me too
This song is one of my fave Zep tunes! It leaves me mesmerized
The Mighty Zeppelin keep on rocking
Excellence knows no bounds, even after so many years!
Best rock band ever !
Bonham held this song together for sure. I get chills every time I play this. He was amazing.
I can't believe,,that after nearly 50 years,,,,I still regularly listen to these 4 gifted men. At least once a week,I try to go to sleep to an L. Z. Album, but invariably I stay awake to the end. I probably listen to Black Dog the most as an individual song,,but Physical Graffiti is the album I listen to the most. Thank You Mr. Jones,,,Thank You Mr. Page.,,,Thank You Mr. Plant and without Bonzo,,how could it have happened the way it did.
Physical Graffiti has been a favorite since the beginning. Cheers

All the stars aligned when these 4 met each other. Rock on☮
Start a song out in 5/4 timing, throw a chorus in with 6/8 timing and you have a song that is nearly impossible to play. But Led Zep pulled it off. Brilliant.
The most underrated zeppelin song ive listened to
31 May 2022:
Happy birthday John Bonham who was born on this day in 1948.
Thank you for playing your part in one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time
RIP
Led Zeppelin........ often imitated but never duplicated. They were awesome!
❤ A Classic ❤
MAGIC!!
Led Zeppelin is the Old School of Rock ❤️🇧🇷👀 . Tonight is amazing . Thanks to put to share !
This sounds like the 4 of them playing separate songs all at the same time but blend together perfectly
There are no words in the human language that can come remotely close to describe the All Mighty Awesomeness of Led Zeppelin !!
What a song!! Led beeing Led!
The greatest track from IV
Am I crazy? This is one of my top 5 led zep songs. I love the grimey guitar, plantes crescendo vocals, and the bridge. And the drumming? So amazing they couldn’t really play it live
Robert was something special..
Absolutely beautiful!
Even just the vocal is olympic level.
Def Leppard does a cover of this called "Two Sticks"
I still remember how i felt after my step dad showed me the song remains the same on VHS for the first time ever one night when i was probably around 10-12 somewhere around there... I can honestly say with all confidence and not a shit 💩 to give about anyone's negative opinion on Led Zeppelin. My whole life/existence changed in the span of those 2 hours. And for my age at that time i was well versed with all styles of good music but once that VHS tape 📼 was done nothing was ever the same. They had so many genres of music that they were influenced by and made Magic with it all. I mean have you heard Robert Plants Voice? It's freaking angelic, John Paul Jones on the bass, organ, anything he touched etc.. can you say Musical Genius! They even had the best drummer like ever, RIP John Bonham was on a whole other level.(I better not hear anyone say otherwise I swear to God I'll jump through this phone and choke someone!) And then of course the man the legend Jimmy Page just ripping it on the guitar! Yeah i know he wasn't perfect live but most people on smack would've just been nodding off plus that's what made him so great he was the definition of perfection in the studio but live he'd be forgetting shit. Say what you will but that's what made it so great hearing them live. And as for those u saying oh they stole this and that bands songs you guys obviously haven't lived long enough to have heard and understand the expression "imitation is the biggest form of flattery" it's like sorry nobody knows who you guys are but we like your music so much we played your songs. My bad if we made it sound better, i mean we're Led Zeppelin! 😂😂😂
One of the most beautiful song of Four Sticks LED ZEPPELIN 💙🖤💜🧡💛❤️💚💚❤️💛🧡My Favourite ❤️💛🧡💜🖤
Excellent song 🙏❤️❤️
One of zeps best brilliant song
Just saw an article titled “worst track on each led Zepplin album”. I thought “there is no bad track on four!” They names this….. nah they got it wrong
This is one of the few songs Led Zeppelin refused to play live because of how hard it was to follow the timing. It happens to be my favorite LZ song of all, mostly because it has that medieval British vibe to it.
Wrong, it was played live at least two times in Copenhagen and Odense in 1971
@yivanov82 Hopefully it was played at Liverpool 1971 as well, even though it looks like only Gallows Pole was played at Liverpool.
@@devanworkman8745 Possibly, hope the tape exists and we will get it some time. Though two versions we have are both amazing!
@@yivanov82not wrong, the group admitted to very much avoiding to attempt this song in live performances because of its complexity and in the entire history of the song only played it live ONCE that is verified. They may have tried it a handful of time in totality but it's not like they this song was part of their live repertoire. Did they perform it live? Yes, but very very rarely.
@@bill1usmc Two live performances can be found here on youtube, after it was dropped due to difficult vocaling for Plant, but it was part of their live repertoire, as were Out of the tiles - 3 live performances only and Gallows Pole - 4 live performances only
My all time favorite Led Zeppelin song, a pity it doesn't seem to get much attention, especially on the radio. We need more of this and Out on the Tiles as opposed to Black Dog and Rock and Roll (two great songs sadly overplayed).
luv this
Stairway is the overplayed one here
I agree with you, I've always like the "B" side song , but I will say "Black dog" to me if a great song, that never will grow old with me
Great 2 picks. Out on tiles is killer too

All comments are valid . It has taken me 40 years to realize that this song and When The Levy Breaks are best tunes on Led4

Time to get The Led out. Turn it up!🔈🔉🔊
No other singer EVER,can touch plant in just this song alone, just brilliant, don't get me started on the rest of the band,I'm biased cuz to me this is one of the best songs ever, and technically it's easy to play but it doesn't matter if you didn't make it up....end of discussion!!!!!
My Favorite song in this album.
In my top 5 greatest zep songs. Mesmerized every time I listen to it!
Me too. Mesmerized is a perfect word to describe the feeling!
BRILLIANT !!!!
One of my fav Zep songs-that melody STAYS with you.
Every once in a while the right minds come together and demonstrate the power of human creativity at its finest. Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, Yes, and so many others are proof of the power of music. And yet, all people are born to create. We are creative beings. The degree of education, social position, and wealth mean almost nothing in developing creativity. But sometimes we get in our own way. Then stagnate. In my novel, Soothing the Savage Beat, by E. Augustine, I describe the power of music, where we are taking it, and how it may be the answer to insanity in a world gone mad. The story is relevant to today, but I take the reader into the future with this one. It may sound crazy, but it's easy to imagine it coming true.
Under rated song, up there with the best of them.
I don't believe it's under rated. Maybe less known. If you ask anybody to rate a Zeppelin song it's going to get an A+.
THIS IS GREAT STUFF
Listen to the drumming, freaking incredible!!!
Ok but how the hell are they going so hard while making it sound so soft?!
A great song one of the greatest
Feels good!
Listen To Led Zeppelin, Always. In my personal understanding, the perception of the expanses of Music is impossible without Them.
My second favorite LZ song...The Song Remains The Same is my #1.
Zeppelin flight is Art and colors are you. Absolutely historic world a music. Flight to be an adventure for you heart
Born in '61. Came alive in '74 when I heard this song the first time. Never understood what Plants lyrics were or even meant for that matter. These lyrics are mesmerizing and story telling. So many Zep young teen mememories.. esp. seeing them live in '77 Oakland coliseum. Fast forward to '95 and became a born again believer in Jesus Christ. God can and does redeem everything.
I really like this song one of my favorites
Oh, Baby, it's cryin' time, Oh, Baby, I got to fly.
Got to try to find a way, Got to try to get away,
'Cause you know I gotta get away from you, Babe.
Oh, Baby, the river's red, Oh, Baby, in my head.
There's a funny feelin' goin' on, I don't think I can hold out long.
And when the owls cry in the night, Oh, Baby, Baby, when the pines begin to cry,
Baby, Baby, Baby, how do you feel? If the river runs dry, Baby,
How do you feel?
Craze, Baby, the rainbow's end, Baby, it's just a den
For those who hide, Who hide their love to depths of life
And ruin dreams that we all knew so, Babe.
I love hearing the little clicks of the sticks
